tomb raider is the best!!!! the best time to ride is when the park opens, just to beat the crowds!

last year was my first time on it i thought it was okay kinda boring just flipping upside down n stuff but i'd ride it again.

Loved it the first year. Ok now. A lot of the theming doesn't work anymore and the staff doesn't run it well like they used to.
I think the ride needs to be longer and reprogrammed. It is my understanding all the movement is controlled by a program that is configurable, so why not change it up a bit and make it another one of Laura's adventures :). Not sure if they can do that now with naming rights of paramount, maybe CF will wait till the naming rights expire and they can retheme it then.

That was the scariest ride i rode at KI. i was scared when they hung us upsidedown

The tomb raider was wicked! I went into shock, not just because if the flips, but because of how cool it was! It was much better than I expected, and I'm glad I tried it out! I can't wait to go again next summer!

I havent rode the tomb raider yet because I havent been to Kings Island in a year but when I go Probably July,28,2007 I am going to ride it with my cousin,my sister,and my uncle.

I love thrill rides, and roler coasters. This ride was the scariest thing I ever rode. Make sure you put EVERYTHING in the zip pouch. I almost lost my necklace, then I got shot in the face with water. I rode it because the movie was awesome. I loved all the movie props when i was waiting inline, and the music. The scariest thing was not knowing what's going to happen, and I still can't explain what it does to anyone. It's fun to ride with people who never rode it b4.

Paramount kind of cheaped out on this ride. It's a classic Top Spin ride with a theme. I would have preferred a Tomb Raider based ride to be something more along the lines of The Mummy at Universal Studios, but what can you do? If it's a long line, just skip it. It's really not worth it. Definitely not for those who get sick from a lot of flipping upside down (or being held mercilessly upside down for 10 seconds or so). If it's a short line, go for it. If the line is swinging around the side of the building, skip it.

I am one of the first people to go on this ride when it was called the Crypt. I was there opening day of 'The Crypt'. There are no effects or anything. THE LINE IS LONGER THAN YOU THINK!!! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!! IT'S JUST A MILLION FLIPS AND STARING AT PUDDLES ON THE GROUND LEFT OVER FROM TOMB RAIDER!!!

i wish they would've kept the same theming, but take out anything that was made from tomb raider, like for instance the movie in the beginning, because i never got to ride this ride with the tomb raider theme and i dont plan on riding it now.

i just rode "the crypt" yesterday and will NEVER ride it again! when it was the tomb raider ride i was totally in love with it and rode it multiple times in a row. the effects used to be such a thrill, and while scary, the ride was not painful at all. NOW they have pulled out ALL the wall images and props from the ride itself and left nothing but bare walls with the steel supports showing and lots of plain old concrete to stare at while it violently tries to shake you off the ride. the sign out front says that "there are now more thrills on this ride", but in reality, all they did was jack the speed up so it spins the crap out of you and leaves a ton of bruises. my b/f has some MINOR back problems, but they never acted up from the "tomb raider" ride, even after multiple rides along with me, but with the new violent speed up, this ride threw his back out and he had to be taken out of there in a stretcher and carted off to the medic area for the rest of the evening. i have a couple of bruises on my shoulders from the restraints when it was shaking everyone so hard.
i think the new name suits the new ride style well...this ride is dying and it's already got it's "crypt" ready to be buried. i have a feeling this thing won't even last out this season. it's totally worthless and painful now, so they might as well tear it down now before it injures someone else.

when my sister got off on her very first try back when it was called tomb raider she cryed it was hilarous

I will never ride this again. My friends had ridden it when it was still Tomb Raider. They mentioned everything about it. Then when we get there, they go "this looks different". We see the demon and think "Looks fun". But when we get in, nothing. No effects or anything. Just going upside down. We waited a hour for that. Never again.

This ride was one of my favorites from Kings Island... But I must say that my favorite ride there was "Firehawk"!
But anyway i thought that the crypt was pretty short, and I wish that it did more turns..

omg i haven't been on it since they changed it but is it really that boring? i liked the little movie and the creepy line! aw man that's just stupid. that makes me mad i liked tomb raider!

I just went to Kings Island yesterday,
And hadn't rode TR:TR since last season.
So I made our group go ride "The Crypt", Cuz I loved Tomb Raider.
Now it's so dumb.
They changed it soo much, it's ridiculous.
Now it's just flipping in the dark.

okay, for one, EVERY seat is the 'dangler seat' now, its so annoying.
its a greaat ride, but the theming is terrible. i went on it on wednesday, july 16th, 2008, and my friend [who was riding it for the first time with me] walked into the ride room, and he was like 'thats it?' i think this is the one ride they should've kept the liscense for.

Disappointment. I can't believe they changed this ride, I mean, It's just boring, no lava, no water, special effect, music...NOTHING. WHY!?
IMO, they need to bring the effects back.

this is dissapointing. i mean, really, cedar fair could have done a better job. a demon thing eating a skeleton corpse? you can see the operator in the window! you can still see the imprint of the goddess woman! why?!?!? a lady in line for this said, "is this a water coaster or something?" ha ha.

I think the managers of the park should put some imagination in to this ride and come up with a whole new theme. I believe this ride can be better than what it is. There is not much but there still is a little life left.

I've been going to the park for sometime now so I've rode The Crypt and Tomb Raider through all the changes but now the ride is a joke. The start of this year I understand it was like how it used to be and was a very thrilling ride but now it has become a boring ride of only going upside down twice..are you serious... kings island needs to look at this ride as ride that should be pushing the limit as this is the only top spin ride in the world! my personal feeling about this ride is that the ride should be longer or lower the trill rating to a 3..

While I agree with your statement that what Cedar Fair (the current owners of Kings Island) did to Tomb Raider was just terrible (then again, Cedar Fair wouldn't know good theming if it blew up in their faces), Tomb Raider is not the only top spin in the world. It's the only GIANT top spin in the world. There are other top spins out there on a smaller scale, such as Riptide at Knott's Berry Farm.

There are 2 things on this planet that I live for. Video Games and Thrill rides. So my boyfriend was always telling me about the coolest ride he had ever been on was the Tomb Raider ride. I watched videos about it, saw it on the travel channel, and just tonight was planning a trip to King's Island just to ride it before the summer was out (and I live way out in North Carolina). But now that I have come across the fact that it is no longer a Tomb Raider ride and there are no longer any effects in the ride, I believe I will now pick another theme park. I'm extremely disappointed. Does anyone know why it is no longer Tomb Raider themed? If it's a licensing issue, why can't they just change the theme and leave the effects? They went with a death theme, so why not make the idol in the center Death or a demon? Or use a heaven and hell theme. Like have crying angels at the top that drip water (crying) while they extend their arms as if to try and save you from falling toward demons and lava at the bottom? Still the same old effects that everyone loved but just not TR themed....just my opinion. I'd still travel for that.

Yeah i miss Tomb Raider the ride it was way better!!!!:) I think The Crypt is gay but atleast its not vary slow like Tomb Raider! But i sotra agree with people even i could make a better ride then The Crypt and way Fast like 85 Mph weeeeeeeee that would be cool and have like 200 Demons gralling in the aire turning and droping and Lova and Water and Cold Artica Feeling LoL. Say i can't wait for the Last year of Scooby Doo at Kingsisland LoL I THINK THE Phantom Theaters coming back soon in 010 LoL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

I DONT KNOW WHEN ILL GET THE CHANCE TO RIDE THIS BUT I HAVE TO IVE SEEN THE MOVIE BUT I HAVENT RODE THE RIDE YET AND WAITING IS ALMOST IMPOSSABLE TO DO BUT I HAVE TO UNTILL I GET A CHANCE TO SEE AND EXPERIANCE IT FOR MYSELF^_^
