From the moment Arrow Dynamics first introduced the modern looping coaster in 1975, coaster designers have constantly been searching for new ways to turn us topsy-turvy as many times as possible. Kings Island's 1987 addition was no exception. Built by the same people who pioneered the looping coaster, Vortex debuted with more inversions than any other coaster in the world, turning its riders upside-down an unparalleled six times!
While this record has since been broken, Vortex continues to offer up some of the biggest thrills at Paramount's Kings Island. After climbing the 148 foot lift hill, you'll plummet at an angle of 55° down this steel coaster's first decent. What follows is a dizzying mix of loops, corkscrews, and a 360° helix that hurls you towards your destination.
Located near the back of Coney Mall, this ride is sure to leave you wanting another trip around the track.
Central Tip: For the best speed, and a great amount of airtime on the first drop, the back seat is the best ride.

p.s you should really make a coster that goes real fast don't break down & has lots of loops & cork screws
my favorite RC at the park.
never get rid of it.
=]
P.S. I luv u ag basiokos!!!
If they replace it, which I REALLY wish they wouldn't, it'll have to be something just as extreme and maybe even more 'scary'

scale 1 to 5
and you are STUPID if you think they'd tear that down. That is probably the most loved ride next to the Beast. Plus, look down at the ground before you get on the Vortex. Does it look like its sinking? lol
Fun ride, though
i like this ride, but it quickly loses its thrill. i went on it a few times after first riding it, and after about 3-4 rides i was like lets go.
fun ride.
YOUR RETARDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again
Not only is Diamondback no where near Vortex, but they have Vortex in the Concept Art for Diamondback!
