Kings Island is located at:

6300 Kings Island Dr.
Kings Island, OH 45034

What is the best way to see and do the most in a day at Kings Island?

  • The selection of your day will affect your experience a lot at Kings Island. If you go on a rainy day, crowds will be less inclined to spend time at the park, so if you can stand the weather, go on a gloomy day or day when it’s drizzling. (Please note that rides and attractions do shut down in the event of severe weather).
  • Choose a day that’s closest to the middle of the week. The park is usually more crowded on weekends (particularly Saturdays), so if possible, attend the park on a weekday.
  • Get there early. The park opens at 10am sharp, but you can enter International Street at 9am. The different areas of the park are roped off and security will begin allowing people through at 10am.
  • Begin the day in the Paramount Action Zone and work clockwise around the park. The Action Zone is generally the most crowded area of the park, so if you can beat the crowds there, then you can spend the rest of the day enjoying the rest of the attractions elsewhere in the park.
  • When the park begins to get crowded, try to enjoy attractions such as Adventure Express or the Vortex because those rides have particularly high capacities so the lines much more quickly.
  • During the late afternoon or early evening, you can try to enjoy some of the attractions that normally have longer lines while others are eating dinner.

When is Kings Island open to the public?

Studies show that the general public has a lot more fun at Kings Island when it’s open to the public! The park is generally open weekends April through May and September through October and daily during the normal summer months. Click here to see Kings Island Central ’s season calendar.

What are the must-dos for any trip to Kings Island?

There are countless things to do at Kings Island, but here are some of that, a day wouldn’t be a day without experiencing at Kings Island.

  • A trip to Kings Island simply isn’t complete without a ride on the longest wooden roller coaster in the world, The Beast! Although the Beast is a thrilling and original experience at any time, it’s particularly thrilling after the sun goes down!
  • Not only does Kings Island offer the longest wooden roller coaster in the world, but the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in the world, Son of Beast! This evil spawn is one of the most thrilling coasters that Kings Island has to offer and is the only wooden “hyper coaster” in the world, standing at an amazing 218ft!
  • Speaking of tallest in the world, Kings Island also offers the world’s tallest gyro drop. Drop Zone stands 315ft tall. This insane ride tows you up, while gyroing, and when it reaches the top, you suddenly plummet 264ft!
  • On any night during the regular season that the park closes at 10:00 or later, the park has its nightly Fireworks Spectacular which is an amazing assortment of fireworks that you can watch as you bid farewell to Kings Islandfor the evening! Fireworks can easily been seen from almost everywhere in the park. Best places being the Eiffle Tower and International Street.
  • Visiting the park on a hot day? You might want to cool of in Crocodile Dundee’s Boomerang Bay, Kings Islands amazing water park resort located inside Kings Island. The best part of all is that it’s FREE with park admission!

Keithharrah, we only keep it so quiet because we don't wanna have stuff blown up. I dunno how New york and San Fransico and other places deal with all those tourists! Anyway, I'm glad you like it. I do too.

I haven't been there in 20 years, but I am hoping to get there this summer and take my 14 year old son. Can't wait to ride the Beast again. I have ridden it 33 times. It is the best! I can't wait to ride all the other coasters I've never ridden. Hope we get to go this year!

Just had to say, I rode the Demon(also known as Screamin' Demon),King Cobra,Vortex, The Bat and the Beast all in the first year that they each debuted and I really feel privileged I got to do so as the only 2 of those remaining are the Beast and Vortex. King's Island has just blown me away every time I was ever there! Awesome park!

what is the best day to go during the week for less of a crowd
Katie :

Personally I liked Kings Island better when it was run by Paramount. For example, Cedar Fair ruined the Racers..I loved riding that ride backwards, going forwards is less enjoyable. Tomb Raider used to be cool too and the ride shot water and fire and it moved upside down. Firehawk, too long of a wait for a not very long ride. I liked Firehawk because it's a laying down roller coaster but they could have made the ride longer and added more drops and loops. My favorite ride is Flight of Fear and it used to be darker in some spots and have better lighting in other spots. Hopefully Diamondback won't disappoint me when I go Friday. My friends said it was a fun ride but from looking at the layout they should've put some loops in it. The Vortex seems to be the only working coaster with the most loops and it's still a fun ride but very jerky. The Beast I swear it used to go faster but I still love that ride. Son of Beast was a good ride but they seriously need to fix it because last time I rode it, it stopped right before the loop when it wasn't supposed to and the next day it said on the news that people got injured because it stopped in another place when it wasn't supposed to. ):
I'm pretty sure they shut down the White Water Rafting ride or it was the water ride beside Faceoff ( they renamed it to something else..orange rollercoaster that goes forward and backwards)that i'm thinking of . Anyways I've been going to Kings Island forever and I have to say I like Cedar Point way better except that you can't experience it in one day and you have to pay for the waterpark seperately. Seriously Cedar Fair you need to add more rides to Kings Island and make it as amazing as Cedar Point except don't mess with the prices please you get more people to go with maintaining the price. The Waterpark seriously needs to be bigger also. The best time to go to Kings Island would be in August or September since it's less popular to go then and during the week go on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday less crowded but get there early in the morning it's more crowded in the afternoon!! Whoever Lauren is get your facts straight it's no longer PKI it's Cedar Fair Kings Island no longer Paramount's duhh and Top Thrill Dragster is in Cedar Point duhhh!!! But yes Cedar Fair owns Cedar Point! Bigger duhhhh! I go to Kings Island every year and have rode every ride in the park except for some of the kiddie rides since they've probably built new ones and really I wouldn't ride them now. Enjoy Kings Island everyone!! Some other places best for Amusement Parks all the Amusement Parks in Orlando, Florida I've been to pretty much all the Disney Parks Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Hollywood Studios and Typhoon Lagoon ( I probably repeated some of the same parks but I don't remember haven't been to Florida in about 4 years).

You could probably grill food in the picnic areas..I've never actually used the picnic area. You could just bring coolers and keep them in your vehicle and get your hand stamped to be allowed to re-enter the park after eating. Anyone who is thinking of a place to stay near Kings Island I reccomend the Great Wolf Lodge, I went there with my family and it was a blast and it's really close to Kings Island. Another fun place to stay similar to Great Wolf Lodge but much bigger is Kalahari Resort except it's in Sandusky, Ohio and there is also a Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, Ohio near the Kalahari Resort.

I have been a lot since I was younger. I am going with my boyfriend for his first time next week 7/23/09. I believe it may rain some while there, which ... s. Hopefully it will only rain a little or not at all. The crowds are much smaller when rain is expected. I haven't been since the new owners took over, hopefully its still just as good as it used to be.

i love kings island so much but i cannot wait to ride diamondback in the dark during fear fest . but one disappointing thing is the son of beast closed again. i hope that they will fix it for good or bring in a new coaster. i think kings island should bring in a simulation ride like Disney world.
