  1. Today
  2. It’s quite telling about how this year will go based on the fact that the other parks are showing off their lavish dishes that are new for 2024 and KI booked a photo shoot for their pizza and fries.
  3. Also I forgot how full and thriving the trees were at the front of the park. I miss that view
  4. Sounds like a good upcharge opportunity, right @Tr0y
  5. It is a shame because Kings Island was leading the pack when Chef Nathan and then Chef Majors were at the helm. It's great to present new food items but the implementation is key. Grain and grill is awesome for the sides, but the protein, in my experience, has been subpar. And could they please listen to the customer and remove the bone in chicken and replace with boneless skinless breasts?
  6. Grain and Grill had a massive problem last year with the meats being dry by the time they were served to guests. It makes little difference how good they start if they are dry and tough when served. Is it being over cooked, or held in the warmer too long I have no idea. Cedar Points food has finally been improving the last few years and over the same period Kings Islands has definitely gotten worse. Having been to almost all of the parks in the chain in the last two years except for the two California parks. I would rank Kings Island ahead of all the smaller parks in the chain but easily dead last among the larger parks. Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, and Canadas Wonderland all had better food and often more choice. I want to see more food options around the park but would likely be happier if they worked on quality and consistency.
  7. Commence people cupping their hands for said free water instead of using a containment device because of the upcharge. To make it spicy, a hand sanitizer dispenser will be placed right at the counter so their hands are clean but their water will have a hint of lemon and alcohol. Fancy
  8. Enrique’s has steak. However, none of our BBQ restaurants have Brisket, like the BBQ restaurants at the other parks.
  9. They need to bring steak. I hear we have the only one without it.
  10. I'm happy as long as they have the Brussel sprouts.
  11. That it does.... Grain and Grille was sort of a step in the right direction, but it seems as if they won't be doing anything different/new to the menus.
  12. Yesterday
  13. 45 cents for a water cup, the water is free, but the container is not.
  14. Hey, I take offense to this! I’m in no way wealthy!
  15. Hang on there, cowboy, I'm not offering a "counter-argument." Those people are gonna get drunk and fight whether they're doing subway shots with mayonnaise floaters and Italian BMT garnish, or, slamming back pints of that weird blueberry ice cream beer. Not so much a Southern Ohio thing, more of a... human thing.
  16. So I bought 2 Cedar Point President's day tickets at a great price. From what I read the tickets expired on 6/30/24. Well I loaded and pulled up my Cedar Point app and found the tickets on there. However it says they are good thru 09/08/24 and I called Cedar Point to confirm and it is true. So if you got the tickets and want to hold off till later in the season you can.
  17. It’s a four and half to five hour drive, with minimal stops, covering close to 300 miles to get from Cedar Point to Michigan’s Adventure. I think it’s a bad idea to try to add it to a trip to Cedar Point. Instead add it to a trip to Michigan. Go visit Detroit, Holland, something, anything else that is closer. While it won’t be an amusement park or roller coaster, I feel there is plenty to do in Detroit, and while it is still 3 hours each way, I have done it as a day trip from Detroit I like Michigan’s Adventure, it’s a good looking park with decent rides, and typically has short lines. But it’s small and it’s out of the way. I went over Labor Day weekend last year, I think on Sunday. Almost all the coasters were short waits, mostly 5 minutes or less, with only 2 or 3 having longer waits. I have season long Fast Lane, and I mostly just used the regular lines, except for I think Mad Mouse, the Arrow Wild Mouse. Just don’t expect a lot of food options, or a lot of rides, it is a small park.
  18. It was done during my years there. Sometimes it was my decision. Other times it may have been requested by one of the divisions at the park, or the ride manufacturer. I wanted people to see rides testing. It generates interest, excitement and anticipation. That was not a reason I turned off a webcam. Others had different thoughts on that.
  19. Any advice for going up to Cedar Point. I am planning to go up with a few buddies and are going on a budget so we are thinking of staying at the motel 6. Overall, just hoping someone had some insight. I have never been before and am super excited.
  20. Oh they find a way. But seriously, I’m not saying it’ll make the bad crowd worse. I’m saying it could make a good crowd bad in addition to the bad crowd.
  21. Sometimes people take jokes too literally... @DJSkyFoxx posts a funny blurb in the same "tone" or style as typical KI blurbs of new events and people dissect it to pieces LOL
  22. I can't wait to see what new up charges they bring to nickel and dime us this season!
  23. OK, maybe it's just uniquely a southern Ohio thing where people are commonly both very stupid and simultaneously wealthy enough to afford large quantities of alcohol at captive audience prices? As I said, I'm making a generalization, which was in part a joke, and was not an absolute, blanket statement of fact. That you can point to anecdotal exceptions is great and all, but not a compelling counter argument to the point I was making, which is that making alcohol available at the old Subway location isn't likely to have any measurable impact on the quantity of "fights and misbehavior" exists at amusement parks.
  24. So far for the 2024 season, I've been to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Seaworld Orlando. I have future plans this year to visit Cedar Point, Canada's Wonderland, Kings Island, Carowinds, King's Dominion, World's of Fun, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Possible parks if I have time will be Knotts Berry Farm, California's Great America.
