  1. True but I would say there would be little relation to the two projects. At this point T3 is mostly if not entirely in the hands of park maintenance where as a complete remodel of TT would be in the hands of what ever firm is chosen to do the job such as RMC. As long as everyone has been paid, there is no other reason the two can not be worked on at the same time.

  2. The nice--and I say that both literally and tongue-in-cheek--thing about Kentucky Kingdom is that, if it were someone else's fault but they're own, you can count on them pointing fingers. If KumbaK delivered the trains late, they'd be saying that. Heck, even Holiday World did that with the Timberliners back in 2010--they point-blank said that the trains were late, and it threw their testing schedule off. Kentucky Kingdom, and moreso Ed Hart, have made it abundantly clear from the lawsuit(s) last summer and the T3 delays that they are not afraid to point fingers and throw blame elsewhere. The fact that Kentucky Kingdom isn't pointing fingers now almost makes me think it is something on their end. But that's me.

  3. The Beast is one of the most iconic and recognized crown achievements in amusement park history. Its renowned all over the world for being such. It is known, it is the icon for Kings Island, and it always will be.

  4. I failed today. I got to the park after work and reached back for my clothes to change into. Yep, no socks! I went in several stores before finding a pair in the store next to Auntie Anne's along International Street. The store was called Peanuts something. They aren't very manly socks either but all you can see are the white at the top sticking out of my shoes. Lol

  5. Funny story about the FUN TV POVs. I was in line for Millenium Force at CP in front of a group of teenagers. A POV of The Beast came on the screen and the group talked about how they had to ride it next. I later saw them walking off and arguing which direction The Beast was in!

  6. T3 was originally supposed to open in Mid-May...the park is nearly a month late on it...so far.

  7. While your point is valid, and for most parks, it makes sense to look forward while your still waiting for the latest model to be unveiled, however in this case, the park is already 2, going on 3 weeks behind deliver and 2 months into their operating schedule and T3 still hasn't been opened to the public. Doesn't exactly give me good vibes about refurbishing other rides in a timely manner.

  8. The Hurler at Kings Dominion is substantially worse than the Carowinds one. Trust me there

  9. Like it or not the main draw for these parks are families. Putting in a one of a kind (in the area) ride is a smart move. It will draw attention regardless of how many hundreds of feet tall it is. The theming alone will draw attention. We aren't talking about a seasonal thrill park.

  10. We just returned from our first ever visit to Carowinds. Except for the lift hill of Intimidator and Fury 325, Thunder Road was the first glimpse of structure letting us know we made it to the park. I was surprised to see the coaster at the intersection. We got to ride Thunder Road multiple times during our 2.5 day visit. Unfortunately they did not have both sides running simultaneously but we did get to ride both sides. We both enjoyed the ride very much. The last hop on the SC side is a bit rough. I liked that the 2nd hill was not as tall as say The Racer so the train was able to keep speed and the turnaround hill was the taller hill. During our visit while riding Afterburn and Thunder Road, the parking lot near Thunder Road was completely empty. They must be using the new gate as the primary lot and will reclaim the parking lot and Thunder Road to allow expansion of the Water Park. It makes sense but sad to see that Thunder Road has to go. Carowinds is a very nice park, and hope to visit again sometime.

  11. And "ducklips".......Can't stand 'em When I see someone doing it, I just wanna walk over and squeeze their lips together. According to my thirteen year old, it is not a pleasant experience.

  12. Selfie, man I despise that word and the trend. Folks spend so much time taking pictures to remember their trip, they don't get to enjoy their trip.

  13. Yea with Sea World, and others in the Orlando area, being theme parks they get the attention from more than just numbers. AT these parks the theming and immersion is just as, if not more, important than the height, speed, etc.

  15. YEa no matter what major new ride we get I don't think anything is going to top The Beast as the parks iconic ride.

  17. Heck yeah! That was my 1st vote and then Manta, haha GatorGirl agrees with you on Manta! It's up there for me as well, my #4 steel. From the looks of other posts on here, other non-KI coasters have split this site's KI fanbase !

  18. Ugh! Selfie sticks! Great! That's just what Kings Island needs. I bet the ride attendants are thrilled as well. Bad merchandising choice.

  19. According to the Coaster Crew's KIfansite Facebook page, Kings Island is now selling selfie sticks in the park. Pic provided by said page: Words cannot express my disgust.

  20. I'm a huge B&M fan. Yet, my favorite coaster is an INTAMIN (Maverick). My favorite wood a Dennis McNulty CCI (Rampage), my coaster that won't let me not mention it is an INTAMIN: Volcano: The Blast Coaster, and my wood and steel candidates for most overrated are The Gravity Group--Voyage and INTAMIN--Millennium Force. And my couch is far better than The Roller Coaster at New York New York Casino, I-305, Mean Streak....

  21. No pictures, no anything? I take it with a can of Morton Salt. Why would engineers and workers be with an RV?

  23. See Wild Escape, West Virginia. And Wild Westworld. And the phantom park in Texas. Or Oklahoma. The chains seem to buy parks, seldom create one from scratch. But see Universal's Islands of Adventure.

  28. 1. Walk Dinosaurs Alive. The KI app thinks you're leaving the park 2. Racer spieled to lift, lift wasn't stopped. Phone in hand filming front and center..sigh Edit: three times I've heard the spiel since on the trail

  30. Remember a lot of the GP are not enthusiasts (which are the parks targets in most cases) and do not know or care of the the existence of the other B&M hypers. The locals will have one now within reach. It's already got some people talking, and as much as I don't like coasters, I know this park been needing one and the fact they sticking to B&M is good.

  31. ^If Soak City lot is your destination, try to use the furthest left toll booth. It is the main booth and quite large so its easy to spot. This lane leads directly to perimeter road.

  33. It's very seldom honestly..and I can assure you for a fact it's never happened on Banshee. The lift is locked out, I've never once watched a train get stopped and taken care of there. I even pointed it out to a ride op, you could see the camera on the left side clear as day and not one care was given...But it's a whatever..IROC will hurt this park as it has all others in the CF chain, especially Cedar Point.

  34. I have never taken a selfie picture. My 8 year old daughter took a few last weekend. Pretty good ones too, except that her arms are too short to include a large backdrop. She wants a selfie stick for her birthday. I am not going to get her one. I am not going to stop Nanna from getting her one though.

  35. I would guess that the reason Rougarou doesn't have the normal excitement and popularity associated with a new coaster is because it's not a new coaster.

  36. I do want to say one more thing. THEY ABSOLUTELY DO, enforce cell phone usage on rides. If a rider does not comply (Most of the time they are) They WILL stop the ride on the hill and take away the article by force. I've seen The Beast being stopped before at the bottom of the lift for a Ride operator to come out of the station and take away the phone, and the train was sent on the way. They do enforce it, if a guest does not want to comply. I've heard the announcement on Diamondback, Banshee, The Beast, The Racer (Especially), even Adventure Express of all rides.

  37. Shenanigans. Every Beer I have ever tried, tasted exactly the same, disgusting. I still remember folks in the barracks telling me to just start chugging them and I will get used to the taste. No thanks. You keep chugging while I take a couple shots. That was my younger days. I pretty much stopped drinking (I may have a drink once or twice a year) and my life has greatly improved.

  38. I don't carry my phone in the park. I want Real Time 3D Experiences. I was at Rush R40 in Columbus, they have screens set up so you don't need binoculars to watch Alex Lifeson's hands. I had to keep reminding myself to look at the three guys on stage, I'm so used to looking at screens in my day to day life. (When you look onstage, and you see these three guys so minuscule compared to their screen image, you get amazed at the music they produce live.)

  40. Kings Island, providing the means to record POVs of you and your friends rides even easier... And look like a total tool walking around staring at a camera above your head all day... Wow

  41. Umm, The Beast? But something newer, I get it. I know people from all over the world, through a different social platform. It actually amazes me how many know of this iconic coaster. When I talk to people from "where ever" the few things we find in common seem to be, the Indy 500, and The Beast. A few have heard of Banshee, and it's fame is growing, but I assure you, even at it's old age The Beast is known around the globe.

  45. I always have liked watching the young'ens faces after they've just got finished riding. especially their first time riding something that is bigger than they've rode before. I know for me, personally, I'd love to do it over again myself. But getting to do it with my kids and seeing their faces. That is something I would not trade for anything in the world.

  46. Woodstock Express! I love to watch the kids. I make sure to put my hands up and whoop! My cousin who is a few years younger than I, and as just as short and skinny, once brainstormed we can be ride escorts for parents who couldn't fit the rides in Planet Snoopy.
