  1. I personally think that they could use several new attractions that can be enjoyed by multiple generations. Ie, rides that grandparents can take their small grand children on. KI used to have more of these types of rides, with the Skyride, and the Antique Cars, but they have slowly disappeared.

  2. Figuring out why they're called bents could leave you digging around for a looong time. Like trying to figure out why the main box for a car is called a frame. Or why a pen is called a pen.. maybe there's a root origins.. but it's likely not an english one unless it's a newer term.

  3. Was it really the parks intent to make the GP forget about SOB with the big memorial to the ride at the entrance of Banshee.

  4. And standing in close quarters with those same people for as much as a half hour or more while waiting in line doesn't? Somewhere, a Terp is likely pondering baths with 2o,ooo people.

  5. I had a dream in June that I visited the park and they were playing orchestral music on I-Street and all the storefronts still were themed to European countries. Everything was a mirror image of where it should have been and the themed lands had different names. And there were different coasters, but a few were the same. Then I realized I wasn't dreaming, I was awake and at Kings Dominion. Words can't express how much I loved this park!

  6. I had quite the KI dream this past Sunday... Ok so I go to KI right. And it's closing day this year year or something. I go with my mom and everything. Except it's a freaking beach and everything and there's a sea and stuff like that but there's water slides into the sea, it is almost exactly kind of like Soak City and even the waves from the sea are timed every 5 minutes, the water slides are essentially the same but it is so very similar to Sand Key Beach in Clearwater Florida that I vacationed in last year. I continue having fun until it's like 5:45. I ditch my family and instead go and go to Kings Island. The beach and ocean are somehow right next to Kings Island though Kings Island somehow appears to be in the same climate and everything. Somehow all of the KICers magically appear. I realize I only have 30 minutes until close. So I take as many pictures as I can. We somehow get access to right under Banshee. And we chill there. Right under the lift hill, I get no worries from my mom but then one of my childhood meances comes and says for me to make her happy I should call her or else everybody could get punished because my mom would be angry. So I do call ym mother but for some reason it's redirected. It is Lou Dobbs from Fox Business and he is in a recording or something saying "She cannot be reached at the moment, as she is currently under federal investigation!" So I can't call my mom so it redirects to that same statement everytime. But like I've tried my best to get great photos but I can't because my camera seems to out focus for some reason and it is making me SO angry because I can take the perfect picture but I cant for some reason, ugh!. and for some reason instead of AE being in that place it is dragon fire from cw instead and idk it's so weird because it is different from how it is in real life. Then some people like my Instagram photos and then my dad does and I start to call my dad and it ends there. SO. WEIRD.

  8. "A bent in American English is a framework composed of several structural members that defines the cross-section of a timber frame building or supports a trestle. In British English this assembly is called a "cross frame". The term bent is probably an archaic past tense of the verb to bind, referring to the way the timbers of a bent are joined together" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bent_(structural) 10 seconds.

  9. Just wanted to note that we're now a little under five months until opening day, assuming a mid-April open.

  10. Yeah, I thought for a long time the Mobile Strike ad was originating on KIC, I guess because it was typically the only site I visited at KI. Then one day when my husband was at the park with me he nearly had a heart attack when the ad showed up on our business page (which isn't supposed to have any ads). He thought the site had been hacked or something until we put two and two together and realized it was coming from KI's wifi. I would by far rather have the wifi availability with ads, than not have wifi at all when I'm at the park. Plus I got a handful of front of the line passes throughout the summer from downloading and playing Mobile Strike, so it was a good partnership as far as I'm concerned.

  11. The Bat is, to me, a considerably better ride in the front seat. And usually not a huge wait. Other that than, doesn't matter to me.

  12. I don't see Banshee as being a fair gauge of future plans, since that was almost, at least to me, a way to make up for the SOB fiasco. Like they finally removed it and, having so much relatively free land post-SOB, they had to get a sure fire, A+ coaster to replace it and make the general public forget about SOB. That being said, I'd expect to see a lot of minor improvements to make the casual visitor more happy, and maybe a kids ride or two. Planet Snoopy is a cash cow for them, and always crazy busy...so why not expand that?

  14. If you, or him, only plan to go once I'd say get them. It is a great deal and having the FL+ will ensure being able to do everything you want during the trip. Picked up a few for my family since planned to go next year but probably not have time to get there a bunch so opted not to renew/get passes this year.

  15. I didn't visit waterparks very often this season, but I made it to KI's Soak City twice. Tropical Plunge's Aqua Launch slides, though fun, were rough on my back at their initial opening in May. They were reportedly smoother later in the season, but I didn't get to try as they were down for maintenance on my second visit. To be safe, since rash guards are allowed, I'll probably invest in one before I visit next season. The passholder preview Saturday was probably my favorite visit ever to Soak City, thanks to a practically empty (yet operational) park & water that had yet to see thousands of swimmers. With an air temperature of 57°, ohiocolts & aandjgoods were the only other KIC members crazy enough to do the slides, though a whole group showed up to laugh at us.

  16. My best recommendation for someone going to IB is to just enjoy it for what it is. It has it's own feel compared to Kings Island or any other major park. Check out the Shaffer Queen (sp?), ride as many rides as possible and just enjoy the atmosphere! There are so many interesting little things about the park it's hard to describe.

  17. Have to agree here, its essentially a lie if Cedar Point announces their new RMC opening in 2017. If they said that then it looks like 2018 is much more likely. I disagree here. They said "there's no RMC projects opening in 2017". They may be completing construction of a ride in 2017 commission it and accept payment for it but RMC does not decide when a ride is "opened" the owner does. If Cedar Fair does not provide RMC with an "opening" date, RMC therefore has nothing on their calendar that says they have a project opening in 2017. There is no lie because RMC has absolutely no control when a "project opens". I have to stand by my original statement. I would wager RMC has a good bit of knowledge on when their projects are likely to open and that delays are much more likely than early openings. If the source is reputable then 2018 is still much more likely. There perhaps may be an early opening of sorts in 2017 with the official opening for 2018 or an event to try the ride with an early 2018 pass purchase but I wouldn't think its very likely.

  18. Chase flat ride. Platform drop ride. Very fun IB is a small park. I don't have to much of a recommendation except doing Dodgems, they are an old set and they are fast. If you see LCoSM running get in line and ride it. It has a lot of down time. The water swings are a must!

  19. When I was at Cedar Point in September (on a Saturday, the first one for Halloweekends), Fast Lane was around $95 and FLP was in the order of $110 I believe. I was going to buy it so I didn`t have to wait in long lines while by wife waiting off the ride (she couldn`t partake in the ride as she is pregnant), but opted not to when I saw the price. Fortunately, the day I visited, the lines were very managable.

  24. Except if RMC had a project which would open in 2017 which could not be discussed the normal response is that, "We have nothing to annouce at this time". I have also heard "I cannot discuss possible future projects." To just flat out state that RMC has no 2017 projects is very telling to me.

  25. Yep, the reservoir for White Water Canyon is part of a natural stream. I don`t know if they actually use chlorine in the water or not for White Water. i know they treat the water for Flume.

  27. Bent is the past tense of bend, so maybe it has to do with bending the track to fit the curves of the structure?

  28. I think Mystic Timbers will help enhance the Rivertown theme. I do like the Frontier theme area at Cedar Point. Other than Millenium Force roaring over head, that area of the park is very tranquil.

  29. I always tend to think that The Bat would go before Vortex, the park seems to have more to gain that way. There is tons of space back there and the queue could be shortened a lot. It could also potentially reopen the old SOB station to use. I don't see anything really going anytime soon though. Cedar Fair seems to tear stuff down when its a problem not due to age. Cedar Point has both kinds of Arrows that are older than than their KI counterparts. KI also seems to have some potential spots for new coasters without tearing anything out, such as the old Crypt building.

  32. So, there's really only one coaster I almost always wait for the front for if it has a reasonable wait, and that is The Bat. Though the front is cool on FoF, Beast and Adventure Express, I usually have other go-to seats I more prefer/more frequent (FoF and Beast, I tend to like to sit near the front, AE I tend to almost always sit in the 2nd to last seat).

  33. And their bumper cars go fast enough to drift them around corners, and make opposing cars do full 180 degree turns when you PIT maneuver them :D Sparky, a fan of bumper cars that go faster than walking speed.
