  3. A couple of notes from my visit to the park tonight. International Street seems to be playing instrumental music again (no pop music), which even my wife commented on how it made the entrance seem grander. I rode The Beast shortly before 5pm, and only waited about twenty minutes for it. They have new signs at the top of the two lifts that have the Beast paws on top of them. My wife noticed it first when we were in the station waiting for our ride in 6-2 and she asked me what was ontop of the lift hill signs (from the station, they looked like owls). As others have mentioned, Dodgems has new LED lights. Oddly, we got walk on rides on Vortex, and Windseeker, and a ten minute wait for Firehawk. Also, there are now queue lines for Chik Fil A and the Skyline in Coney Mall. Overall, it was great to be back in the park, and the food stands seemed to be handling the crows the best they could, given the large crowds.

  4. From my experience, GCIs age rather well. It will develop some bite in time, but the comfort level shouldn't falter too much. To those who have ridden this as your first GCI and loved it- the power of GCI compells you.

  5. Overall I would give the park a solid "A" for the day. I don't know that they expected the crowds to be as huge as it was/ We've been at Gold Pass night before and never have I seen it this crowded. For the first time in a long while, the staff seemed equal to the task. For a park that has shown themselves to be a quart low on customer service in years past... bravo! Walking up in the parking lot after 90 minutes navigating the drive in (we only live 15 minutes away) I noted that it seemed to be the same crap pop music roll in the parking lot. Immediately upon entering; the music befitting of an International street was noticed by our entire family. EXCELLENT move! Food lines were long, but seemed to move pretty well. The Mystic Timbers area looked amazing! Very well done! Only critique really... Upon leaving and strolling back through I-Street. I noticed that not only were the lights on the buildings not on, they appeared to be completely gone. Not awful; they were usually half lit anyway. But, the fountain lights weren't on and the buildings don't illuminate much (this was at 9:30p not 1a). The exit to the park really seems like it needs a lot more light. But other than that; KI has upgraded themselves across the board it seems.

  7. My Mr T Review I think the nickname is fairly appropriate for the ride. For those GP that say it's not up to snuff because of the stats, it pities the fool. Its a fantastic ride from start to finish. The pre-lift is a decent build up, the ride paces very well, there's airtime everywhere including on elevated turns where you wouldn't think there'd be air, laterals were decent, the s-curve into the tunnel is everything I'd hoped, and the trick track into the jump up to the brakes and making that subtle banking turn is a great way to cap things off. It's soooo great having the best wooden coaster trains conceived by man in the park. This is easily a top 5 woodie for me. Shed Spoilers

  8. Giant crowds on passholder night is not something new. I recall the park being insanely crowded on SPH Previews for Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Outer Limits, Action Zone, Son of Beast... and more. Specifically, the line for OLFOF on SPH night in 1996 wrapped through every permanent outside queue, through temp queues that filled the plaza in front of it, then stretched out to Coney Mall, and all the way to Vortex... AND it had single train operation that night. Here's SOB during SPH night

  10. I really wish the shed had used animatronics instead of projection screens. I understand the theming is a huge step for Cedar Fair but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Even if they just had spinning axes or moving tree branches I would have been satisfied, but a quick animation on a screen looks and feels very cheap. This is a state of the art brand new coaster that was marketed to be highly themed but it falls very short in that department for me. Flight of Fear, Adventure Express and Italian Job all are much better themed (ik Paramount owned the park then but still, these rides are older and technology is so much better now). The actual ride is a grand slam though!

  11. They were playing George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue down International Street this morning! I always loved this piece. For those who don't know, it was used in Fantasia 2000 for the sequence that involved a busy city and also appeared in Woody Allen's Manhattan and Gremlins 2 and really fits this part of the park rather well. (Plus, I am a sucker for classical music, as well as classic rock, both of which I love hearing in the park. Contemporary pop can take a long walk off a short pier for all I'm concerned )

  12. Diamondback has had great operations all day. I've been watching the webcams and all trains have been dispatched on an average of one minute with little to no stacking.

  14. They crowds were insane. The traffic started for me at Montgomery RD on 275. Once I got through enterance it took an hour driver around the parking lot to find an open spot. I rode nothing. So mad I didn't make Media Day with my fellow ACErs. But on a positive note my 6 year old son was finally tall enough for AE, he loved it. I wish that ride had pictures so I could have got it. Also my 2 year old daughter made the 36 inch mark & got to ride the purple coaster as she calls it. Her face says it all!! This picture made my heart happy & forget how crazy crowded it was. She loved it!!!!

  15. I left around 7 after having ridden Diamondback and The Beast. I did sit by the fountain and just take in the atmosphere with the music. It is something many have been wanting/suggesting/asking for, so it was a special moment in time. I did like how they have planted new trees around the junkyard coaster. When they fill in, it will make the area look better. I also saw a lot of new sod everywhere, along with concrete pads or footings near BLSC, the fountains and even in the front gate area. I'm assuming these are Winterfest preparations. I'm generally not a fan of tree removal, but the Eiffel Tower looks so much better as do the planting areas by season pass processing and the tram circle. It would have been easy to complain about things today, but I think the park did an impressive job given how crowded it was. I can't recall seeing it this busy.

  16. Just got home from the park and got to experience MT. Waited about 2 hours to ride but it was well worth it, unlike the last ride I waited that long for, Valravn which was a major disappointment. The ride is fantastic and exceeded all of my expectations. It has incredible pacing, as others have noted, after the lift hill it is non stop thrills until the end. It reminds me soooooooooo much of Maverick (one of my top 3 coasters) with it's speed, change of direction and terrain-hugging. Definitely one of my favorite coasters I have ever ridden.

  17. Having all three trains on the track today made for a bit longer time in the shed (and presumably faster lines) which I personally found very positive. For me the only drawback to spending more time in the shed was that it was already getting a bit stifling hot in there. I don't know if there is going to be AC or at least fans, but if not, this is going to be a real problem when summer gets here.

  18. Hi all! It was good seeing some of you at the media event yesterday - King's Island is really to be congratulated and thanked for a terrific event. I'll share my thoughts on MT - and will take off my rose colored Kings Island glasses to do so. Going in, I was less interested in "What's in the shed" than I was the ride leading up to it. I had hoped for a mid-sized woodie that would prove not only popular, but re-rideable. Personally, I look for certain things - air, continual speed and pacing, surprises, and comfort. I was ecstatic when MT delivered all those things. Air - it's a air-time machine. There's pop after pop after pop. I'm a back-seat rider 75% of the time on woodies - MT changed all that. It is definitely a front seat ride, and I couldn't get enough of it. Continual speed and pacing - A lot of coasters seem to reach the final breaks gasping for air, having petered out. Not MT. From the time you drop off the lift until you reach the shed, it retains it's pace: fast, fun, and thrilling. Surprises - I wasn't expecting the directional changes to be as fun as the were. Specifically - the two directional turns just before the mid-course tunnel were great! Comfort - the older I get, the less I want to feel bruised and battered, or sore. I literally woke up today expecting to have a coaster-hang-over. Instead, I woke up wishing I could go right back to the park for more. That says a great deal about the trains, track engineering and quality of the ride. Frankly, MT is the best wooden coaster in the park. It doesn't hold the legendary status of Racer or Beast, of course, but it's a coaster that people will flock to - not once-not twice - but over and over again. Its as though you took the best qualities from wooden coasters you love, and combined them. There's a vibe of Holiday World's woodies - specifically The Raven - but without the bone-jarring roughness. Finally, while I'll not speak specifically of "What's in the Shed"... I can say I wasn't disappointed - but only because I hadn't hyped it in my head. It was exactly what I had assumed it would be. Actually, I was a bit charmed by it more than I thought. Without spoiling it, I LOVE throwbacks, references and hidden nuggets in attractions. The things you see in the shed are, essentially, Kings Islands version of "Hidden Mickeys." And as someone else said, would you rather sit on a boring break run in the blazing sun, or have something fun to entertain you?

  19. I don't need to explain Mystic Timbers to anyone here, we're KIC and I know we've all been excited for it. To be honest, when it was announced I wasn't expecting much from it. However, as the wood began to take over Rivertown and just the sheer scale of some of these things in relation to others became clear, I knew we had something special on our hands. As a massive fan of some of GCI's more violent creations such as Thunderhead and SFA's Roar, I could tell this had a shot at being my favorite. When it was announced that ACE was invited to Media Day, I knew I had to do it. The initial plan was to host and ride down with one of my ACE friends who was planning to travel in from the East Coast, but she had something come up. Luckily Kat, my region's ACE rep, lives only a few minutes from me so we were able to ride down together! At rope drop, we were walked back through the park, still dark and sleeping silently wrapped in the blanket of the offseason. As we neared Rivertown, the silence was interrupted by the soft sound a uniquely creepy soundtrack, the metallic clinking of GCI anti-rollbacks, and the most unsettling-sounding lift siren ever. We entered a queue line that snaked back through the woods surrounding Rivertown, past the smashed truck as its radio very audibly crackled emergency alerts for the area; something was on the loose. In the chilly air of the morning, we waited surrounded by logging equipment, faint white lighting, and security cameras on TVs giving us the play-by-play on the sketchy occurrences in the woods. After the wait, Kat and I were in the station (which has the tiniest platform ever by the way) and ready to go! The very first thing I noticed sitting down in Mystic Timbers's trains was that the padding was harder, it's the new stuff they have on Lightning Racer. Second off, the restraints are significantly tighter than any other GCI, but it is the only ride at Kings Island where only one click on the ratchet is required. I'm not even that big and I had to yank it down with a bit of gusto to get it to lock for me. But with that, we were on! The rev of a truck's engine filled the station as we rolled out to finally figure out what's in that shed! The slow crawl through the forest at night was the perfect way to set the stage for the moment of truth. Our train engaged the lift and began climbing up over the treetops as the lift announcement played, instructing us to turn our car around. As we neared the top of the lift, the train slowed to a crawl. "Whatever you do," the voice warned us, "don't! Go in! The shed!" The lift sired chimed out as we were dropped into the first turn, which was your pretty standard GCI first drop. And then into that first high turn over the lift, I noticed I was thrown out of my seat just as violently as Thunderhead as of 2014 was doing. And diving out of it, I noticed that the rest of the hops were practically on the ground. I knew from that exact "oh crap" moment that whatever was about to happen was to be absolutely insane. And my god it was! The main ride back by the train loop feels exactly like Voyage and Thunderhead had a baby! You get violently whipped around all over the place and irreverently kicked out of your seat for the entire ride as the train hops, skips, and jumps along the forest floor. Some nice laterals in the turnaround (this ride is seriously laterals done right, not like that garbage helix on Legend) and we were belligerently rampaging our way back to the midway, getting thrown every which way right on a collision course with that shed we were told to avoid so much. Finally, the ride itself finished off the experience by dropping us down to the water, kicking us a few more times, and then rising into the brake run with an ominous building with open barn doors like jaws loomed in front of us. "Stop," the loudspeaker ordered us, "do not go in the shed. Stop, do not go in the shed." The train crept forward as the warning garbled into static. Like others, I had formed a guess for the eternal question that the enthusiast community ran with: #whatsintheshed? It changed as the season went on but on media day eve, I posted it on my Facebook. My thoughts were that Oakley (the tree character from the logo that looks like Angry Orchard) would be projection mapped ripping the walls off the shed to attack the train and then trigger a giant loud saw blade prop to fall from the ceiling spinning, stopping only inches from the ride envelope and scaring the crap out of riders. As the train rolled into the shed, it sunk in exactly what was going on. I was strapped into a coaster train in an enclosed space in which it was understood something was about to happen. And I was completely at its mercy without even knowing what it was. My knuckles turned white around the restraint and I clenched my teeth in preparation for whatever was about to happen. Shot backwards, saw blade thrown inches from my head, anything. Now I won't reveal what happened publicly (if you've ridden it, please PM me for my opinion if you want it!) but all I will say is that it's a fun little twist to cap off a ride on the greatest coaster in Ohio. It's fun, it's quirky, it'll keep you coming back for more, but it isn't the selling point of the ride. Like the ride was marketed (and yes it was), the main focus is the coaster itself, not the little shed bonus at the end. And #whatsintheshed and "ride into the unknown" (on the billboard on the gate) have a whole different meaning to them now. All in all, Kings Island really outdid themselves with Mystic Timbers. This coaster is proof that records, gimmicks, or anything of that nature is needed for a ride to be world class. Mystic Timbers was marketed as a good ride with an interesting theme and fun bonus at the end and that's all it needed. The ride experience comes from the fact that this classic traditional wood ride system was applied with the use of CAD and FEA to create a modern mechanical marvel, the perfect coaster for a park that has a tradition of pushing the wooden coaster to its technological limits and finding new ways to use the system. This is the greatest coaster in the state of Ohio and the fourth best wooden coaster I've been on, above legendary world-class wooden coasters such as Boulder Dash and El Toro. It's really violent, it throws you around, the theme is great, and the location brings it all together to complete the package. Out of 253 different roller coasters, Mystic Timbers takes #9 as the highest ranking coaster in Ohio and the highest ranking GCI. Wanting something by which to remember my new favorite GCI (in addition to the tons of free stuff they gave us for media day) I headed over to the little four-way display they had set up. Talking to employees, Mystic Timbers didn't get a custom built gift shop like Banshee because Banshee's gets no business anymore, so they set up this little display down by the old Crypt building. This will allow you to purchase any Mystic Timbers swag your heart desires but if it puts Kings Island in the red, they can just get rid of it. But for right now, it's permanent. But I bought this shirt and it's awesome. The coaster has a Snapchat geofilter even! It looks awesome! Rivertown will never be the same! Later I met up with Scott Schaffer from Upstop Media who was there to film and his friends Andrew and Michelle for another ride! Scott's great and got me some lanyards to give my girlfriend for her lanyard collection, and he even showed me his gimble and other filming equipment! McCauley Caulkin and Donald Trump ride Mystic Timbers! It was this ride that I noticed that ACE had started the tradition of dancing in the shed! After that ride Kat and I headed out to lunch with Scott Short (the other ACE regional rep over Ohio) and Dave Lipnicky (ACE VP) and I headed home for some rest in between events. All of this was free with media day! This is all stuff I bought! I love the shirt! (Special thanks to my lighthouse bedspread for the cameo in the last two photos) After hanging out at home and freshening back up a bit, I headed back for the First Rider Auction! Traffic wasn't too bad but I got there ridiculously early, early enough to tailgate the parking gates a bit. But once we got in I got to start meeting up with people I hadn't seen all offseason and it was awesome! Jennifer (WailsLikeABanshee) had invited me to hang with her and her boyfriend for this event so I met up with them at Red's Hall of Fame Grille with dinner. After, we headed for Mystic Timbers for their first ride! I couldn't tell at first if she liked it because her first reaction was to ask for a glass of water, but she later admitted it was her new #1 so that's great! We spent most of the evening just power lapping the thing! Also got to meet up with Josh (Stashua123) and Melissa (Beastie1990)! All of us went for a ride after! Met up with them and a few others and we all had a nice convo about the ride outside the gift stand. KIC meetup! Sadly this pic didn't capture the moment when Melissa almost cracked my nose with her skull getting thrown into me (which was HILARIOUS) but we had a blast! After that the sun began to go down and the night rides were on! One more ride was all we needed and it was insane! Walking out was bittersweet. I was sad that the day was done, but extremely happy to have welcomed this new mechanical wonder to the world. I know it has the brightest future ever ahead of it so long as Kings Island maintains it as militantly as it deserves to be. I was already starting to hear the lovely screech of side friction wheels on the later rides, so I can tell it'll break in quickly and nicely. On the way, we passed Sweet Spot and spotted a kid with Josh's exact shirt color, glasses, and hair inside! Wanting to be jerks, Jennifer and I ran up and tapped on the glass only for a kid that wasn't Josh to look at us like we were crazy! And that laugh right there was the perfect way to close out the day. What an amazing day full of two amazing events! Thanks so much to everyone who gifted me with this opportunity! Thank you Kings Island and ACE for Media Day, thanks to the Dalton Foundation and my donors for making the First Rider Auction a reality for me! Thank you GCI and Kings Island for installing the newest generation of a timeless ride system in my backyard. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing coaster so close to home and that'll surely make life with my home park that much more special! And a special shoutout to my ACE friend Celia for trying to make it out here, I can't wait to get you on it! And a very special "haha you missed out!" to my girlfriend for not making the effort to get down here on the grounds of "the coaster looks lame."

  21. The ride itself was amazing, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for the shed. It's interesting and the atmosphere is cool, and something does happen, but it's nothing too cool. Part of me wishes there was a fake tree with glowing eyes in the shed, but what we got was interesting.

  27. As I was leaving a little after 6 (Feet were done after standing for 3 hours), this was the crowd attempting to enter. The line for pass processing went all the way back to the entrance where the permanent metal detectors are now. It looked like there wasn't a single parking spot left, and they were backed up on the road halfway out to Kings Mills Rd trying to get in.

  28. I've also seen the new queues at several places and I love it! Skyline in Coney Mall and Rivertown Potato Works have them as well. I haven't been through the rest of the park to see where else they've been added. It's a smart addition and I'm sure will help traffic flow through those areas as well as make it easier for people getting food.

  31. The time has come to find out what is in the shed! I'm not going to spoil it for anyone so don't worry you can read along. There are some theming elements relating to the lift hill and right before you enter the shed that are described. If you don't want that spoiled please don't read this. My first two rides for Mystic Timbers was in the back row and at night. I can tell you right now this ride is going to be a can't miss at night! It was dark in the woods even with an almost full moon. I was able to take the second train out for media day. The theming began with small sound bites while waiting in line that we found an abandoned truck and we are going to use it to leave the area. The line and station were both filled with eerie "Stranger Things-Esque" music. We exited the station to the sounds of a revving truck. Once past the small pre-lift section we were on the lift hill. The hill theming began with a security guard speaking over the intercom about us not being on the property and we should turn back and head home to play videogames! The nice little theming addition was that the train slowed down at the top of the lift hill and gave a final warning of us not going into the shed. Once cresting the hill we start the ride. The first drop is your classic curved drop found on other GCI coasters. After that the curve ascends to crest over the lift hill where you turn into the woods and begin your dash to the shed. The transitions are very fast. The POV doesn't really give you an example of how fast the elements actually come at you. Once over the WWC my favorite part of the ride happens. The double s turn trick track element right before the shed is an amazing mix of lateral and negative g's. The tunnel is a great addition as well signalling the "halfway point" of the ride. Outside of the tunnel you head back with more sharp curves and small airtime hill that provide a great amount of really good airtime. You cross WWC again and hit a small mini airtime hill that leads into the final curve and into the dreaded shed! Like I said before I will not spoil what is in the shed on this TR. I will however discuss one thing that I really did like in the last bit before entering the shed. There is a voice recording warning us to not go into the shed. It repeats it multiple times and as we get the closer we get to the shed the message starts to break up and become staggered. Right as we are entering the shed we hear the tape recording dying out and saying "go into the shed." I thought this was very fitting especially after witnessing what was in it. That last sentence right before going in is setting it up as we are the ones being lured into the shed by whatever is in it! That plus the warnings in general on the lift hill and theming in the station all fit together to make one solid story. I know there are some people that have said that what is in the shed doesn't make any sense but if you look up a video (I'm sure KICentral has a video on Facebook) about the backstory everything all comes together as one cohesive story! Kings Island has knocked this addition out of the park! The theming is so solid and if taken as a whole makes complete sense and elevates the story of the ride itself. This is a coaster that fills the gap between smaller coasters and the bigger ones at KI. In my opinion, this ride should cater to enthusiasts as well as the beginner coaster rider that wants to have the feel of a "big" coaster on a ride that is "only" 109 feet tall. The way the ride uses its terrain and elements gives the ride a feeling of quickness as well as feeling a bit out of control. The pacing is fantastic as well the ride itself feels as fast at the end of the ride as it did at the beginning. As for the rest of Media Day the 20 minute presentation of the ride was fantastic as well. We were able to hear from Kings Island new Vice President and General Manager Mike Koontz, Great Coasters International Senior Engineer Adam House about what this addition has meant to Kings Island and GCI. The background story of the ride and information about the special effects used on the ride was provided by Amy Steele of Holovis. Overall, I would say that Media Day was very succesful for Kings Island, Great Coasters International, and Cedar Fair. I want to thank Don Helbig for the invitation to Media Day as a member of the media as I definitely enjoyed the opportunity to experience this attraction first hand. I hope that you all get to find out what is in the shed in person very soon! Attached are 19 photos from Media Day. I am truly sorry for the large amount of photos (especially if you are using a bunch of mobile data to see them) but I wanted to share them all with you. As always thanks for reading my report! First Drop! Neat rear design on the train Mike Koontz, Kings Island VP and GM Adam House, Senior Engineer at GCI Amy Steele of Holovis Don Helbig, Public Relations Manager at Kings Island First drop! (Side Note: Apparently the dab is not dead for rider poses! haha) Sometimes you have to get artsy with the shots. Here is Mystic Timbers' reflection caught off of WWC reservoir. Airtime! The speed of this ride is really surprising! The pacing of Mystic Timbers is so great, the final airtime hill is so strong it produces a wheel gap! Track shot! Hairtime! Front Sign First curved drop and transition over the lift hill Long exposure shot of the truck/front gate of Mystic Timbers Night shot of the near full moon and track leading to the shed and lift hill. 33. My Mystic Timbers review, Honestly... MT >>> The Beast. Now, hear me out. I love The Beast, it's a classic, love night rides on it, but Mystic Timbers really blew me away. I wasn't expecting a whole lot from it but WOW! This was phenomenal! Very good pacing, the speed never lets up, it doesn't feel like you're going 53 mph. Definitely feels faster. My bottom was not in my seat for most of the ride and I loved every second of it. This is an airtime machine, not to mention it is very smooth. This was my first GCI and I give Mystic Timbers a thumbs up! As far as the shed goes, I was left a bit disappointed, but still a great concept, just a bit overhyped in my opinion. The theming is great for a Cedar Fair park. The Shed kind of reminds me of like a Call of Duty Zombie mode kind of feel, like when you're in the shed and the music starts playing, that's when that COD Zombie mode feel kicks in for me, and I love COD, and the shed. Overall, I give this a 10/10! We definitely have a winner on our hands! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  34. The crowds were definitely awful today! Most of the major attractions had very minimal waits until around 5-6:00, when even The Racer was spilling out into the midway. We never waited more than an hour for The Beast and Diamondback, however the line for MT was so long that they had to separate it into sections so the sidewalks wouldn't get blocked. They also were using the queues in Crypt's old building. Even most of the food stands had a 20-30 min wait. It was good to see MT getting a lot of attention though!

  35. Amazing ride! I was lucky enough to get on as soon as the park opened and avoid the long wait. Having never ridden a GCI before MT I don't have a lot to compare it to, however it was by far one of my favorite wooden coasters to date. It was non-stop until the end. I am definitely looking forward to riding some more GCIs in the future!

  36. Not really, I typically prefer drinks without carbonation but just for preference reasons. I would be happy if the park served beverages like diet Sprite, or Minute Maid light lemonade. Although I still think the best option is more freestyle machines. When the park puts 40 fountain nozzles next to each other I want to see more than 8 total options, the bottleneck is scanning the barcodes anyways. Make one or two of the machines have healthy choices or just have more variety. Why not put in gold peak tea, fuze tea, one or two flavors of Fanta since there are about a half dozen, cherry Coke, one or two flavers of HI-C, etc. Obviously the park cannot put in every option but it could easily add a little more variety. All of this is easily available from the local Coke distributor and all of it is Coke products. I would love Powerade Zero but I have never seen it from a fountain before and do not believe it is available as a bag in box syrup.

  37. My night... Luckily I was able to take a half day at work and leave early. Got there a little after 230. Was surprised they opened the gates early letting people go from one line to the other. I was glad they kept it single file I was imagining people just running towards Mystic Timbers from all directions. We got to ride by 445 (back row). My poor friend had to do the walk of shame but at least she didn't wait hours and hours to not be able to ride. Loved the actual ride he shed was so so to me. Wasn't planning to ride again since the line was growing by the second even though I wanted to see the diff from back vs front and day vs night. Anticipated all the other lines being walk on but boy was I wrong. Ended up spinning the big wheel one time and I am normally a completely cursed unlucky person but won front of the line Mystic Timbers passes by some miracle so waited until dark and rode again in front row and liked the change in the shed theme much better!

  39. I was very impressed by how they handled the long line for Timbers. They walked everyone back in a very organized way, and I particularly appreciated how they kept the different queue extensions separated in a way that allowed the Rivertown midway to be unimpeded. I imagine they'll use the same system for opening day.

  40. Wow, what a great addition to the park! I would like to hear more about the back story of Mystic Timbers, but the audio on the TVs and speakers made it hard to pick up with the large crowds and other noises. I'll definitely be riding this many times and look forward to seeing/hearing more. This is in the list of my top coasters at the park. The ride itself is incredibly smooth, great pacing, and exciting from the top of the lift till you reach the shed. I really like how there is no "slow" feeling through a MCBR (because there isn't one). Interaction with the train and WWC is cool, and I love how they selectively cut out trees during construction and left so many remaining. It doesn't feel like a "new" coaster in a clear cut field. Thumbs up from me

  41. Great weather, busy night! Really enjoyed Mystic Timbers, a fantastic coaster. We arrived quarter till 4, went straight to MT and had a 4 hour wait!!! Met some great people in line and everyone had a good time. BTW, there were numerous attempts at line jumpers with the extended lines outside the main entrance of MT ("Oh, I thought the line started here..."). KI staff worked really hard to keep people from getting in these areas. Security was out in force. With such a large crowd, everything had some lines (food especially). But what a way to start the season, I'm sure KI is quite pleased.

  45. I'm lined up at the entrance of the park. As soon as the rope drops I'm running straight to Surf Dog. Who's with me? Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  46. I think if the park had not said a word about the shed and it was just a surprise for your first ride, I think people would LOVE it. However, since it was so central to the ride's marketing, many people will be understandably disappointed. Curb your expectations and you will enjoy the shed. Don't expect some groundbreaking thing that's going to put KI on the map. Just expect a fun little distraction from sitting on the brake run and you'll love it.
