  2. Congratulations! (My husband and I got engaged at the park, on "Days of Thunder"- it was the only ride where I felt I wouldn't lose the ring.)

  5. In addition to everything already posted here, I can offer 1 more tip based on my trips to Holiday World- for a amazing view of the Waterpark as well as Voyage (and now probably Thunderbird- my last visit to HW was in 2013 so it wasn't there yet), while in the waterpark, go to ride the gigantic purple waterslide known as ZOOMbabwe. It is over 100 feet tall, and on the edge of the waterpark, so you can see nearly every other waterslide from there. Also should Legend be running (witch it should unless it breaks down), do note that it passes directly under ZOOMbabwe and when it does the entire st

  8. Doesn't even need to be a big flat. I think Coney Mall is begging for something like a tilt-a-whirl on Flight Commander's pad.

  10. Safe travels, pal! Can't wait to hear about all of your adventures!! Side note, lines are longish today. I waited almost an hour for Mysti, but The Beast is moving quickly. I'd say by the time I get on it will be a total of 25-30 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. I rode Slingshot for the first time last friday and what we did was pay for a ticket, and they gave us a timeslot (we came pretty late in the day, about 7:30, so we just went with the earliest timeslot. I guess you could pay at the beginning of the day and then reserve a slot later in the day if you wanted). They gave us a receipt and wrote down the time, and we got in line at that time to ride. It's supposed to make it that you don't have to wait in line, but even though our timeslot was 8:15 we ended up riding at around 8:35. I guess it gets backed up a bit.

  12. I voted undecided and maybe for The Bat. If they could make it work without making the wait super long, then I'd consider it. I only think VR is acceptable under the circumstance that it would improve the ride experience. To be honest, no ride at Kings Island needs VR to be great.

  15. I voted no, it really hurts capacity with up to 10 minutes to dispatch a coaster train and for outdoor coasters, it is no fun sitting on a brake run in hot weather with a phone strapped to your face. If it was going to be added to a coaster, I think Racer would be the best choice with 1 side for VR and 1 for regular operation that way anyone who doesn't want the VR, won't be stuck in a slower moving line and can ride with a normal wait time.

  16. This isn't really a choice based on what I'd want, but rather what makes sense logically. Flight of Fear and Bat are the 2 that make the most sense to add VR. FoF for being indoors and Bat for its mild and smoother track and layout compared to other coasters at KI. Adventure Express and Backlot would be close 2nds.

  17. I still think a Screamin' Swing would work well in that spot.

  18. while i was in line for Diamondback this girl was talking to her friend and she said. "I can't wait to go under the water pit. Its so hot and this is the ride you get soaked on!" i simply laughed haha I was thinking where in the world do people get this stuff?

  19. I heard some good ones today. The Beast is the oldest and longest roller coaster. voyager is over 200 feet. then this one tops them all, some guy in line for Vortex tried telling me that Vortex is the magnum of Kings Island lol. is was like um they are not even close to being the same lol
    1 point
  20. Yes ... somebody knows for sure! According to the stats on rcdb.com, it is the 3rd longest in the park.

  21. Got a few while at the park yesterday. "The new Diamondback ride is just like Top Gun." I was thinking, what? - Okay they got us, they are both steel. First time riders on DB were behind me in DB queue. One goes "This is a really short ride," as they looked at the first hill, the returning helix, and splashdown. I turned around and said no this is one of the longer riders in the park, you just can not see the rest of it. Guests were happy. Saw them later in the park and asked them how they like it and they said they loved it. I did not want to be quoted on here by saying it was th

  22. The one I heard a few weeks ago while waiting for seat 16 on DB, the group behind me was talking about how SOB will mess your back up. And does the park close at 5pm today?

  23. A young mother, loudly trying to brag about being a local, to her little child: "Ashley, it's nice that we only live a mile away, and can come here anytime we want, unlike some people who have to drive a long time and can't come everyday." Little girl: "Mom, quit saying that! You've told me that three times already!" Mom: "Shhh!" Nearby Crowd: "Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha."

  25. "Magnum has a loop at the end" "Millennium Force goes 80 mph" "You're tall enough to ride that Top Drag Racer" After exiting MF: "Diamondback was faster" (bull****) "How do you get to that big blue one?" "You'll run into a burning building, but you won't ride a coaster that goes upside down?" In line for MF: "This is just like that other one, but it's blue instead of red." (NO IT IS NOT!! And it's not RED, it's MOLLY ORANGE!!) ALL heard on Saturday.

  26. Firehawk goes 51 miles per hour, Diamondback goes 80 miles per hour. So, really, he was correct.

  27. A couple people asked me at school if I was the first rider. I told them no and they said ok. I mean they weren't idiotic and think there would be shirts saying first, second... Also, someone who works at the park told me there would only be 500 first rider shirts on Friday, April 17, the day before The Day. I was going to argue with her but someone else said she worked at the park, so I dropped it (I already knew she did). Then on Monday 20th, I asked her about it and she said she was wrong. But, she isn't stupid and she is quite nice.

  30. Overheard some people in The Beast station talking about how the "Son of The Beast" is "sooooo much better". I was wondering what constitutes "better" in their world.

  31. One of the funniest things I heard last year was as I was entering the Raptor queue. One guy in front of me said, "I hope my feet don't get cut off." His friend turned around and said to him, "You're an idiot." and kept walking. It was hilarious.

  34. while i was in line for Diamondback, some guy told his family he talked to someone in the park who said that gold passes now get you into Cedar Point. i then explained that they would not and that thats what they have platinum passes for but he was adamant. they were even planning a trip up there, i felt sorry cause not only would they have to buy tickets, but they couldn't even just upgrade to platinum because you have to do that at your home park. ugh...

  35. So is it weird when I hear people say this stuff I just don't say anything and carry on with what I'm doing, because trying to correct someone or set someone straight who doesn't know seems like an exercise in futility to me!?

  36. While in line for Diamondback on opening day: man 1: The first drop is over 200ft and the max speed is 80mph man 2: Well The Beast is almost 200 feet and goes 75mph. Roller coaster technology hasn't come very far. man 1: that's because the body can only handle so much force. man 2: yeah, you can't make them much bigger if the body can only handle 1 or 2 G's. HAHAHA While in line for Scooby Doo a mother told her VERY young crying child, probably about 4 years old, "don't be scared. it's not dark in there at all." that was just cruel, but still darndest. i'll keep my ears open more

  37. One year we watched a roller coaster video in science class. It was very outdated, however- they discussed the new Drachen Fire and explained how Magnum XL-200 was the world's tallest roller coaster. Later in the day, a friend of mine came up to me: "Hey Ty, did Top Thrill Dragster used to be called Magnum XL-200?" ...

  38. On Saturday, I was in line for Diamondback when a guy comes by, looks at the line and at DB and says: "Man, Firehawk is huge, I'm going back in line for Diamonback" Also while in line, two different people asked me where and how I got my first rider t-shirt. I simply pointed over to the t-shirt tables and informed them that once they exit the ride, they just walk by and get one. One of guys looked at the tables with mounds shirts on them and then he asked: "Do they have any left?" I guess some people just struggle.

  39. Me and a friend were waiting for The Crypt then it broke down. Over the speaker they said there was technical difficulties but guests were trying to be funny and said, "Oh yeah, someone got their arm cut off." I responded of course.

  43. I took my 8 year old nephew to howl-o-fest and I hear all kinds of crap talk like I heard a father tell his kids that scooby-doo and the haunted castle was a scary roller coaster!...wow dontcha think you should ride it first before you lie to your kids!?! then I heard a couple of punk teenagers at Halloween Haunt telling people that The Racer has a loop. The Freaks really do come out at night!

  48. Well... I think I have said it before, but I don't want to go back and find it. On Magnum Girl in front of me: "Look at the ocean at how beautiful it is." Standing near the Diamondback mini-me up front: Random guy: "That's MF but painted different." Random woman: "I hope it doesn't go THAT fast." Park employee(sweep): "It's not going to be that great of a ride anyway." I hate when they say Firehawk is "Brand new", when it is actually a hand-me-down. Funniest thing i heard all season, Guy talking about Diamondback's missing track parts: "I hope they don't leave it like
