  2. Congratulations! (My husband and I got engaged at the park, on "Days of Thunder"- it was the only ride where I felt I wouldn't lose the ring.)

  5. In addition to everything already posted here, I can offer 1 more tip based on my trips to Holiday World- for a amazing view of the Waterpark as well as Voyage (and now probably Thunderbird- my last visit to HW was in 2013 so it wasn't there yet), while in the waterpark, go to ride the gigantic purple waterslide known as ZOOMbabwe. It is over 100 feet tall, and on the edge of the waterpark, so you can see nearly every other waterslide from there. Also should Legend be running (witch it should unless it breaks down), do note that it passes directly under ZOOMbabwe and when it does the entire structure shakes (same thing happens to the giant funnel slide, Zinga, next door as well as Legend passes by that one too) which can be intimidating. Also after getting the amazing view you'll probably have to ride ZOOMbabwe and it is one of the more intense and scary waterslides they have, given that not only is it huge, but the entire slide is in pitch black darkness. It's fun if you like intense, scary waterslides though.

  8. Doesn't even need to be a big flat. I think Coney Mall is begging for something like a tilt-a-whirl on Flight Commander's pad.

  9. Yes, you can leave backpacks in the station on all three woodies. I don't know if that is true for Thunderbird, though. Also, just to be clear: Legend (if you want to), then lockers, THEN Voyage without the backpacks. Repeat: Legend, lockers, Voyage, in that order. Trust me on that. Your legs will thank you later, because you reeeeeeaaaaalllly don't want to backtrack from Voyage all the way to the waterpark lockers and then double back all the way through Thanksgiving. Comprende?

  10. Wait... and you'll be at KI on the 4th (I think?)? If so, wow!!!! Still, wow! That's jam packed w/coasters! Interested to hear about La Ronde, Great Escape (I went there in the early 2000s) and of course Boulder Dash! Stay safe and stay hydrated with some good ol' H2O.

  16. In line for Crypt: "This ride's like 10 minutes long!" On Crypt, before the ride started: Guest: "Mommy!" Guest's friend: "Shut up, Dave!" In line for Drop Tower: Guest, pointing to Diamondback: "What's that ride?" Guest's friend: "That's Diamondback!" Guest (surprised): "It is???" I also heard Monster referred to as The Spider again...

  17. 1st person: "we will be getting some big coaters now that Cedar Fair owns Kings Island because they also own Cedar Point" 2nd person: "What do you mean? Cedar Point doesnt have any big rides"

  18. At Cedar Point last year I heard a guy tell his family that they better get over to Raptor while it was an hour wait because it's normally a 4 hour wait.

  19. On Friday my girlfriend and I were riding FoF and as we hit the final bunny hop she exclaimed, "OMG they put the last loop back in!" I gave her the weirdest look. I tried to convince her that they never took the corkscrew out last year and she didn't believe me, telling me to ask KIC about it... If she sees this I'm dead...

  20. Octopus, Spider, Monster...three different rides, all made by Eyerly Aircraft Company, and all confused with each other by many guests. http://www.allbusiness.com/services/amusem.../4596612-1.html

  22. Next time someone thinks that my first rider t-shirt means that I was, quite literally, the first ever rider (as if there were shirts that said "SECOND RIDER", "THIRD RIDER", and so on), I'm going to slap them.

  23. On Saturday, I had a Viking Furry ride op try to tell me that Diamondback cost a billion dollers. I was like wow.

  24. On Sunday the people behind us thought that The Crypt was a haunted house, they were in for a suprise!

  25. At the end of a night ride on SoB on opening day, a guy in the car ahead of me said "Wow, I couldn't feel the loop at all". His ride partner replied "Neither did I. Did they take it out?" My first thought was that it was two of y'all just trying to see if I or someone else would post it here.

  26. I can't stand it when people do that. I mean, it's one thing to say "This ride has a loop." It's another to say "It drops strait down into a tunnel then comes to a stop, then launches." I'd prefer if what they say actually makes sense. BTW, nice avatar beaver!

  27. while in line for season pass processing: kid one: didn't Son of Beast have it's loop removed? kid two: yeah kid one: why did it? kid three: because one day a train didn't get threw the loop so they sent out the other five trains to try and bump it loose. while in line for Son of Beast: guy one: doesn't the son of The Beast have a loop? guy two: no it's impossible to have a loop on a wooden roller coaster. both of these are from the 25th

  30. Random kid in line for Diamondback on opening day: "I heard this ride goes upside down more times than The Vortex!" "This coaster doesn't have any loops. Do you see see any out there?" Kid: "Yeah huh, they took some off The Vortex JUST for this ride!" I just thought, "really? Arrow loops on a B&M?" People are just so dumb sometimes. I mean, The Vortex is pretty close to Diamondback, can't he see?

  31. These things are just getting more and more rediculous as time goes on... By the way, did anyone hear about that guy who died when he fell out of the train at the top of the lift hill on Little Bill's Giggle Coaster?

  32. Topic: Diamondback stopping at the top of the lift hill this weekend.. Where: Class Room "OH! I heard about Diamondback stopping at the very top because some kid fell out but was fine because he landed in the net below"..

  33. Opening day gems: "Hey, honey, it's Diamondback! *points to Invertigo*" "I waited TWELVE HOURS for Diamond Head!" (I wouldn't wait twelve hours for a waterslide at Worlds of Fun!) "But... but... The Beast was closed all day!" --This kid at my school who thinks he knows EVERYTHING about KI. He seemed shocked when I told him that I rode it right after riding Diamondback. "Someone died on Son of Beast on Saturday." "The Crypt didn't lose a row!"

  34. OK I got one for you. I was in line for Diamondback and the guy behind me told his friend that Diamondback was relocated to KI from CP and he road it there.

  35. While waiting in line for Firehawk we heard some guy with an A.C.E shirt on say he waited in line for Diamondback for 9 hours. It had just turned 4 O'clock. He was having a very loud conversation with his wife on his cell phone about it. I don't know if he was trying to make people not want to ride or what. He kept spurting out random incorrect facts about it though.

  37. Not to be confused with "Dueling Daisies." Terpy, who knows a few old-timers will get that one.

  38. In line for The Beast opening day, I heard this conversation from a few people behind me. Girl: I'm scared. This is going to be scary. Guy: Of course it's going to be scary, it's called The Beast, not puppies and butterflies. Girl: Shut up. So of course I was imagining "New at KI in 2010, Puppies and Butterflies... The Ride!"

  39. Indianapolisman and I heard a CLASSIC in the smoking area in Coney Mall. We were talking to an obvious SFKK fan, and he let us in on some very hot, top secret info!! It seems his Friend who works there (obviously the Dippin Dots guy) showed him the blueprints for some very hot expansion plans at KK over the next wo years. Not only did SFKK buy the rights to Diamondback from B&M with plans to open an exact replica, but are also in the process of bringing back a few other rides (the names of which escape me at the moment) and by 2011 SFKK will be twice the size of KI!!

  43. Today my dad, brother and I were looking at pictures of Shiekra on rcdb.com and when we came up on this picture before my brother and I got a good look my dad said "what, do they put helmets on the people before they ride or something." My brother and I said "WHAT" at the exact same time. Then we got a better look at the picture and there were water test dummies in the train. It was FUNNY. LOL http://www.rcdb.com/ig2662.htm?picture=59
