Do not mess with the current coasters. Now if another attraction that was designed for VR is added then I would be okay with that.3 points

We got to the park around 5:30 and headed straight towards Banshee for my wife's sister first ride ever. We only had a station wait. Our next venture was to pick up our 4 year old who was at the park eariler from the water park and we rode few of the kiddie rides that he likes to ride. Now the interesting part. We rode Banshee again and someone took off their seat belt while going up the lift. The ride estopped and worker told them to put the seat belt back on. It took about 10 minutes to get the ride restarted. Once we got off they had security waiting for them. Not that security did anything other than talk to them. We let our son play a few carnival games and I would say he got pretty lucky. On a last note the park has gotten really trashy with the type of guest. Adults were line jumping our 4 year old waiting a water slide, people littering everywhere, smoking outside of the smoking areas, and not following the general park rules. Some of the midways were really hard to get through and they really need think about widening some of them. I don't want to sound snobey but I think a price increase in tickets is really needed to cut down on some of the crowds and the type of people in the park.3 points

This is a post that I hate to make. It is not intended to be aggressive attack, but a legitimate heads up. Hopefully some one at the park will see this and take action. More on that in a bit. Let me start out by stating an opinion: The food at Kings Island is flat out abysmal. I'm sure some will disagree with me, but the quality is severely lacking for something of that price point. It's nothing short of highway robbery. On June 2nd, my girlfriend and I decided on a last minute trip to the park after work (we're both Gold Pass holders). I didn't get off until six and by the time we made it to the park I was relatively hungry. We make our way to the Red's Hall of Fame Grill, because you know... wings and Budweiser, right? I mean, come on. After a long 9 hour work day I'd like to have a nice sit down dinner, take it easy, and enjoy the park. As we arrive outside of the Red's Hall of Fame Grill we are greeted with a line out the door. We wait for a bit and get inside... So Kings Islands only sit down restaurant isn't much of a sit down kind of place anymore? Lame. Yeah, this is a total first world problem and I won't dwell on it, but again. Really really lame. So we bail and head deeper into Rivertown and settle on Potato Works because I wasn't going to put up with the wait. Potato Works was about a 20 minute wait (yikes!), but it is what it is. Hey, they had a nice wing/french fry basket! And Budweiser! It's all good! But it's not all good, friends. The nice young lady behind the counter informs me that they don't serve beer as I place my order. I tilt my head slightly and nod to the large Budweiser sign behind her head. She turns, glances at the sign, and turns back at me and says, "No one here is old enough to sell it. Sorry." Hmm. Again, total first world problem. That being said... lame. So so so lame. But there are bigger problems in the world and beer at amusement parks shouldn't be one of them. I place an order for a boneless wing basket and two Cokes for my girlfriend and I to split which brought me to a grand total of around $19 (double yikes!). The price was a bit tough to swallow (pun absolutely, 100% intended), but it's Kings Island food prices. "People gotta eat!" So... bite number one: Oh boy! Let me tell you how lovely it was to have that delicious blackish red, sludge-like substance go down your throat: Really lovely! The fries were also soggy and bland beyond measure. I figured no one at Potato Works would be of any help so it all went into the trash. On to Guest Services! Now, I have to say that the young lady I spoke with at Guest Services was incredibly nice. Very apologetic and professional. I even showed her the picture of the blood-nugget (see above, kids)! She promptly took my name, number and email to pass along to a supervisor because I was informed that I would be waiting a while to speak to someone that night. And like I've said twice already: In the grand scheme of things this isn't the end of the world. It's food. Really crappy food, but just food. I just wanted my $19 back. That's all. So then I wait to be contacted. 20 days!! 20 days it took to be contacted by the "Food and Beverage Area Manger," and only to have them kind of insult me because I decided not to wait around Guest Services to speak with someone. LAME. I emailed them back in regards to the situation and sent the picture as well. The PR apologies kicked in and I was informed that... " The product that we serve for our boneless chicken bites at that location comes to us pre-breaded and pre-packaged, so I am sure that no one is aware that the contents of that chicken bite would look like that... (we) will most definitely be in contact with our supplier regarding the contents of that chicken bite." Two things here, friends: 1. Did I seriously just pay almost $20 dollars for pre-breaded/packaged/frozen boneless chicken wings from an undisclosed location? 2. Is Kings Island actually going to push responsibility of the lovely blood-nugget off onto a third party? Aren't they the ones who decided to serve this garbage to the general public? As of 6/25 I was handed off to some other supervisor within the Food and Beverage Department via email. I haven't heard from either of them since even after reaching out again a few days ago. Quite simply, I just want my $19 back. That's all. Kings Island, if you read these boards (and I know you do) you need to step up your game. As a season pass holder for 11 years I can honestly say that the park in general hasn't felt this cheap in... well, ever. It's really disappointing. I'm not writing this post to start a flame war, but just to bring light to the situation. And maybe even get some kind of response from the park because they're apparently ignoring me. I love Kings Island, but am kind of becoming disillusioned to it all. I'm putting serious thought into not renewing our passes for next year. My girlfriend and I went to Coney Island a few weekends ago and had a blast. I'm thinking we might do season passes next season. But! Kings Island l, I love ya still. I'm not mad at you, just disappointed. Sorry for the long post. But for real... my $19 would be great. Edit: The picture inserted isn't showing up. It's attached now! Yummy!2 points

Are you insinuating what I think you are? There are very nice, respectable, conscientious people that don't have the budget for expensive days at KI. There are the people you wish to avoid who actually have quite a lot of money.2 points

Since I finally had the day off for the 4th for the first time in years, I decided I was long overdue for a return trip to Stricker's Grove. My sister and brother-in-law decided to join me as well. We got up there probably around 3 or 3:30. Even though my niece can't ride very much and my brother-in-law isn't much of a rides person, we decided to spring for rides wristbands for them as well. We all had a great time and the fireworks were great for being a small show at a family-owned park. Despite the large crowds we still got rides on everything except the scooters (ran out of time) and Tornado (went down while we were in line for it). This is the first time I've been back since I went up there during the 4H fair a few years ago. It was nice to finally get to ride the Pirate Ship and they've also added a Mozer's Spring Ride (think Scream Machine at Coney) since I was there last as well. The other major change is that they upgraded the drive system on their Ferris Wheel - instead of the standard cable drive system, they've got some fancy computerized direct-drive system, installed to apparently make it easier to operate (and also apparently much to the amusement of someone in the rides department at Coney). The weather itself was perfect, and we lucked out in that the only major rain came while we were getting dinner - the heaviest while we were actually paying for our food - so we didn't get very wet at all. We all had a great time and I won my niece a small purple stuffed stingray at the bowling game in the arcade (we all purchased tokens with the intention of winning a prize for her - I just happened to get lucky and got it on my second try). Total ride count: 2x carousel, 2x (for both me and my sister) Kiddie Whip, 2x Train, once on everything else. Attached photos: first two show an old CP Huntington locomotive and tubs from some random ride, last three show the new drive system on the Ferris Wheel.2 points

I will likely be working part of the day. But I will definitely be there for the ERT, likely running one of the rides... The sooner you can buy the tickets the better. I am not sure what the deadline is for purchasing tickets. Looking into it now.1 point

This is very tempting. I have only been to Coney for the International fireworks competition several years ago and things were so packed with people I didn't even really see they /had/ any rides. And it's the day after my birthday, so 'treat myself' right? I'd also like to know what the deadline is.1 point

If you look around, there are lots of dead or half dead trees throughout the park. Many of them are ash trees. When you're on the train sitting at the Soak City station, there are 4 or 5 half dead ash trees right there. They're probably just marking dead ones to remove. The emerald ash borer has really become a major problem in this area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I'm very interested in this! I've actually never been to Coney Island before. Is there a deadline to purchase tickets, or can I wait and make a last-minute decision? I'd like to know how much time I have to make a decision.1 point

If it's a priority, you'll figure out how to go on less crowded days or just don't go. Holidays and weekends are notoriously more busy than other days.1 point

^Did you read the whole thread? The trees in question are by the train and Mystic Timbers, pretty much on the opposite side of the park from The Bat.1 point

Yikes, that's not good, also the portions of meals on the dining plan has been going down as well. I had decent pizza at Larosa's on Saturday, and decent Skyline on Friday, I think the chain restaurants are fine but quality in park food has gone down.1 point
-
It's a shame that the only consistent food in the park is made up by outside chain restaurants. Cheap fast food to boot.1 point

I tossed a boneless wings basket for a bite into a bloody nugget a couple of weeks ago. I'd have complained, but Kings Island has demonstrated nothing but terrible customer service this year in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Port Clinton, Cedar Point, Day 1 Left early on Tuesday and trekked through all the Michigan construction to get to my beloved town of Port Clinton. I have 2 reasons I stay there. 1. The average hotel rate is about $20 cheaper than Sandusky 2. Its a beautiful area I also ate at Toast N' Jams in Muskegon for breakfast. Pretty average place, but wasn't left with options with not much else in the breakfast department around my hotel. It was warm enough for a swim in Lake Erie. It is kind of a pain walking out there. Right at the water line, there are lots of rocks and sediment being splashed around and before you get to smoother walking space, there are quite a lot of painful rocks to get across. Spent a few hours on the beach to just sit back and relax and then headed to dinner. Found a place called Crosswinds just east of town and wasn't disappointed. Got a 10 oz NY strip which needed no steak sauce, a baked potato and salad with iced tea to drink. Drove around for a few hours after before going to bed early. For my first day at the Point of Cedar, I went with participating in morning ERT on Millennium Force and Gatekeeper. I held off until noon to see how crowds did before getting a Fast Lane Plus. I had money on me with that purpose, but if I didn't need it, then I wouldn't bother. That said, the first day was also the first day of summer, so the crowds picked up. I got rides on Dragster (no roll back), Corkscrew and Magnum before I went for the upgrade. During day one, it was much more useful. Circled counter-clockwise from Magnum and rode the next big ride I came across after another. Ate lunch at Famous Dave's near Snake River Falls and had a decent BBQ sandwich. It was chopped pork, which felt like they took very tender rib meat and put it on a sandwich. It was very good. Didn't make my way back to the front until after 3 pm and got all the bigger rides there. I skipped the water rides until day 2 as I didn't have extra clothes on me at the time. It wasn't that hot on day 1, not much warmer than Muskegon (about mid 70s). After going up front, I went back towards Frontier Trail going clockwise. Didn't need to eat anything after lunch, which, I ate later in the afternoon. Then things took a turn for the not so good. At about 8 pm, there was a power outage which took out about 2/3 of the park including all the bigger flats and coasters. A few of the older rides, CCMR being the only coaster, kept running, but it was a huge bummer. They never reopened, and with the advice of malem, I went to guest relations and received a voucher for a FLP on day 2. I stayed until 10 with the hopes things would re-open. Day 2 would remedy that and then some.1 point

Waiting for the train to leave for Boomerang Bay: Guest 1: How'd you like the Diamondback? Guest 2: Aw, the Diamondback was awesome. I loved how the Diamondback has all those loops. Guest 1: Yeah, I thought the Diamondback was pretty fun, too! Guest 3: *turning around to look at guest 1 and 2* You two rode the Diamondback? I think they hold the record for saying "the Diamondback" the most times in ten seconds. It made my friend and I laugh for a few minutes. However, I started laughing on Coolengatta, so I kind of choked. Addict, who promises to never laugh at a Boomerang. Or a Crocodile.1 point

in line for Diamondback on Wednesday: Man to his girlfriend: This is the tallest coaster in the world. Girlfriend: How tall is it? Man: about 300 feet, and it goes 100 miles an hour. Girlfriend: Is it safe? Man: Well, someone died on it a few weeks ago, but he had a heart attack. Girlfriend: Maybe we should go on the Son of The Beast instead. It's in the kids area.1 point

I was walking by the Age or Weight (or Birth Month) game in Action Zone, when the game operator noticed my Disney World shirt. She said "That is an awesome shirt. Give me a hi-five!" So, I did. As I was walking away, she said very loudly into the microphone "Disney is the bomb.com!"1 point

Yesterday in line for Drop Tower a group of young teens were debating where The Racer was located. One pointed to Son of Beast but the other actually knew it was white. Another said it was at Six Flags. Another said it was still in there park but he didn't know where. I give him credit for actually knowing it was in the park.1 point
