I used mine the second last Sunday, and the lines weren't close to being as long as the last Sunday of 2016.

Not a good idea. When riding coasters with lapbars or T-bars, you really want support there.

My understanding is that it actually outlasted what they had originally intended. I think that people are looking too much into the length of the contract. In fact, I think much of what what we assume is part of the contract is directly derived from years of speculation rather than factual info. I still think that there is a short term plan for that land. Dinosaurs was going to go, but why now? Why stop in 2017? Dont get me wrong, it’s entirely possible that the popularity weaned over the 8 years of its existence to the point where it was not viable to keep the attraction and that’s it. However, again, being the biggest and longest of all of the DA attractions then that would heavily imply that the issues are on a scale from just as bad or far worse at the other parks - especially the ones with less attendance. My speculation? And I can not emphasize more that this is simply speculation: I think that the end of DA and the rumors of a giga are hand in hand. The puzzle pieces simply fit together too well. To see the future you need not look further than the past. Remember of Son of Beast sat and sat and sat with no action until 2012? The ride was razed and almost immediately the footers (footings?) began to show up? You can’t tell me that those decisions didn’t go hand in hand. Thr likely truth is that we will know a lot more on April 13th.

There has to be a systematic way to release a FL/FLP day to Gold Pass holders... Maybe letters A-C get this two week window, etc. Do it by name, or time window the pass or renewal was purchased. I'd love to utilize it but I'm busy on Sundays, so I can't.

This makes my heart ache a little.

A dive makes sense for Canada's Wonderland because a lot of their current coasters are pretty mediocre so having a dive will give them a good top 3 with Leviathan and Behemoth. Plus it'll be the only dive coaster in Canada so that could break some records there. Canada's Wonderland already has an invert, so I wasn't really surprised to see that they got a dive. I'm curious to see if we'll see more of these B&M dive machines around the chain as the years progress. California's Great America might get one since they're trying to break 200ft on multiple rides.

They are good, but I don't think they are that good. I'd rather have a more unique ride than a copy cat every (Six Flags) park I go to.

Just would like something different. Underwhelmed with leviathan and other b&m hypers. Have not ridden fury yet. Prefer millennium and I305 gigas.

Within the first weekend of Mystic Timbers being open, they already needed to fix the split rail queue fencing because people kept sitting on it and eventually broke some of it. They have to walk a fine line with queue theming to have stuff that is interesting but either sturdy or well out of range of guests.

I think there could be some benefit to possibly theming nearby eateries/gift shops to rides. Imagine a Mystic Tavern/gift shop adjacent to MT; Banshee Bistro/gift shop close to Banshee (Diamondback Diner? Racer Restaurant?) Many guests identify with their favorite rides, so it seems like there could be some excitement involved with getting off your favorite ride, and being able to eat and purchase items themed to your favorite ride in the direct vicinity.

Banshee has Tombstones around the front of the que and the plaza is pretty well themed. Mystic Timbers is nothing but themed: The crashed truck in the front, radio broadcasting inside the truck, the mill signs, the station has some props, the station made it sound like the truck is revving up, the lift hill has audio, and the shed has props, music, and animation. If that's not theming I don't know what is.

I guess you could say the whole park is fast lane for pass holders on preview night.

I've found myself while on duty this past week after school has let out, yelling down the hall: "all clear!" (Ensuring we had no additional bus students left in the halls)

I always thought it would be cool if gold pass holders got one free fastlane per visit regardless of ride, just as an extra perk for having a gold pass.

I feel like Vortex's plot is far enough away from Diamondback that it wouldn't matter. Also, I'd love a 200+ foot drop, but I doubt the lift would be that high - there's a lot of great usable terrain on just Vortex's plot, and even more behind it towards The Beast (if you've ever been on a behind-the-scenes tour of The Beast or been on the roads back there, you know exactly what I'm talking about). Potentially an even shorter lift if they decide to dig a tunnel for it (I can think of a certain spot in Vortex's plot which would make a great place for a tunnel).

Don't forget brand new shiny seats!

@jimbo t I moved your thread to this existing thread. To answer your question: I have never heard of any discounts with a season pass. I only know if you renew your pass before the regular season ends, you get a free Fast Pass plus to use before the end of the regular season. I hope this helps!

Its been fairly quite on here the past couple days. lol

To me, the ride it gives is more important than the height... I'd rather have a great ride that's a bit shorter than a lacklustre ride that hits a certain height number just for bragging/marketing reasons... I personally enjoy Griffon more than Valravn, but to the average person through the gate, either would be a great hit... I doubt it will interact with the mountain... From where it is to the mountain is pretty long haul for a dive coaster... They're already going around/through Vortex, having to go over Guardian and may make it look really cluttered... As for inversions, if it's a dive, the answer is 'not enough'... Canada's Wonderland has 14 inversions, spread over 4 at best mediocre rides, 3 of which is are just off the shelf "I'll take one of those please" coasters, and the 4th is a Arrow Looper that isn't as good as Vortex (KI), Lock Ness Monster (BGW) or Anaconda (KD)... The park has rides with 75 and 80 degree drops... Do they really need a 90 degree drop that bad??? I'd say something is better than nothing, but I'd point to Soaring Timbers, Guardian and Time Warp as exceptions to that rule...

That's likely exactly what's going on. Ground work, tunnels, and track laying is likely to be done for this section quickly so that Vortex can be reassembled and operate for 2018 while construction continues.
