Because most US parks aren't willing to pay for it and have a ride with a significant amount of downtime7 points

Those plots of land are exactly the reason I love KI over Cedar Point. I love the feeling of openness and a ride being just over the corner from me not over my head. It makes KI a place to visit and enjoy.5 points

I'd rather have a Maverick type Intamin at Kings Island rather than a Giga Intamin. Easily.5 points

Might I remind you of issues with Intamin's in the past, which include but aren't limited to- - Broken cables and chains - Massive redesigns of large track sections - Rides that are rare to open on time - Log flumes disengaging lifts, falling backwards and capsizing - Rider ejections And after all that, they have the audacity and nerve to say that they are an acceptable part of the industry and have little to show of any improvements with their installments overseas, nor have they had any innovations lately. B&M doesn't stoop that low. Show me something B&M has done that comes close to that list that wasn't human error. I'll wait (I'll save you the time, there aren't any). And say what you want about their ride quality in terms of experiences, but they have a second to none safety record. I'd rather have that than an under-designed ride, whether it'd be the ride experience or safety equipment.4 points

And here we find the time Don Helbig first learned how to use Windows Movie Maker. Good riddance... Anyway, glad those Dinos are gone and we can utilize that land for another Windows Movie Maker teaser. GIGA3 points

I'd rather have a Mack type just because of reliability concerns, but I don't really want a giga, and I feel like a Mack terrain launch coaster would be so much more unique.3 points

^I would take that in heartbeat over a giga. Maverick = Most bestest coaster ever!3 points

To all you guys wanting Intamins- are their designs really worth the hassle to the park that they bring? Many of us have posted time and time again the problems that come with Intamins, why do you look past that in terms of what direction you think the park will actually go if they go for a giga? You all know it'll be a B&M. I'd put money on it.3 points

Do you ever notice that Kings Island has ridiculous amounts of land within the park that are underused or aren't even used at all? I'm talking about the excess land surrounding Backlot, the land between Racer and Flight of Fear, the old Flight Commander area, and I could make an argument for Crypt building and Tower Gardens. I understand not every single patch of grass and concrete needs to be used for an attraction but I find these pieces of land to be... underutilized.2 points

KI's kids area really is awesome - both of my boys loved it when they were 4. I think the coolest part about it for kids that age is going on rides all by themselves (space buggies, red baron planes, dodge em's, pumpkin coaster) and then a mix of rides they can go on with parents. And...there's nothing cuter than your little one waving every time they circle back to where you are.2 points

I can’t even believe people would be so rude, especially at a place that is meant to be fun! It just goes to show how mad people get when they’re told any form of “no”! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

As it looks darker, it might be dinner. However, with the current weather, it could be Launch1 point

As a technician I can tell you the speakers in the FoF dome have NEVER been swapped out for new ones. That means its the same 25+ year speakers as the day it opened. Im sorry but this speaks volume of negligence, and it's an easy fix to.1 point

Inverted coasters, floorless coasters, dive coasters? EDIT: also higher capacity flying coasters1 point

I would assume that is because CF hasn't owned the park the entire time lol Just wait they will be used. I just hope its for good reasons. As for the comment about CP. They do not have as much space that KI has. There is sort of a reason they just don't have " open Space".1 point

No. Call me timid, but I felt like that would be more trouble than it's worth. They were already banned from the park for 2-5 years (they varied), and I was a minor for the first two, so it'd involve my parents (who I'm not fond of), etc. Now, if they had actually attacked me, that'd be different.1 point

Walking distance at Kings Island is way smaller than Cedar Point. The distance between the different areas at CP might be a problem.1 point

Well I better be good then! It's all I've ever wanted lol If I could have 1 wish it would be a park full of only Intamin coasters.1 point

Every Christmas I ask Santa for a new Intamin! Haha I love roller coasters!1 point

B&m are reliable but they are not building much in the US lately. To be fair intamin got the reputation of having downtime due to pushing innovation.1 point

KI dealt with a big coaster last decade that had a lot of downtime. If we are getting a giga it is going to come from a manufacturer that specializes in safety and reliability. B&M checks both of those boxes.1 point

Wow. That is unbelievable. Did you file charges? Technically, the guest has committed battery. (Assault, too, if they threatened you.)1 point
-
KI has a little more rounded variety of rides all in one section of the park. The advantage to CP is the kids areas seem to be less busy and your little ones will have the opportunity to get more rides in. All in what is more important. More rides for the day (CP) or more variety (KI).1 point
-
CP technically has 3 kids areas, not necessarily busy most of the time. I would still say visit KI.1 point

I think it's cool, I guess I just wanted some more theming interaction between the train and the coaster1 point
-
I think the audio is kind of cool, it's a remix of what's heard in line, the shed, and the lift hill.1 point
-
I was kind of hoping to see some Mystic Timbers theming added to the train. I thought we'd be treated to signs advertising the Miami Valley Lumber Company, maybe some vines on the buildings, logs laying beside the track, scattered hard hats, warning signs or something. The closest thing we got in terms of theming was the same audio that MT riders hear before going into the shed.1 point

I think the park's flat ride collection is kinda weak. I still envy Canada's Wonderland for their set of flats. If we had half the flats that Canada's Wonderland had, the park would be set.1 point

Sure if you like the story of watching Fun TV in a queue with some shaded areas that somewhat resemble sheds.1 point

Just to prove it had trims since day 1- here is a POV from 1979 (as evidenced by the lack of tunnel on the helix). The skid brake trims are all in the same places as the magnetic ones (sans the helix but I imagine they added them shortly thereafter, I believe they were added after the park staff and design crew took it for a test ride).1 point

By doing a quick property search on the Warren County website: http://www.co.warren.oh.us/property_search/summary.aspx?account_nbr=1202233 you can find some mention of what I assume to be permit fees for a few items under the memos tab. The ones in particular that seems interesting are "Harbor House Foundation", "Harbor House Shell", "Sprinklers-Harbor House". Could this be a similar restaurant to the Harbor House at Carowinds? The only thing that is a bit puzzling is that the name seems better fit for an installation in the water park. Regardless, it sounds like a place that would be serving up seafood. Thoughts?1 point
