  1. You should see the model on display of the new coaster design from GCI. Sweeeet! Photo Credit to In The Loop FB page https://www.facebook.com/inthelooppodcast/photos/pcb.2281063755502885/2281063675502893/?type=3&theater

  2. I think there needs to be a class taught in school that illustrates how to determine validity won the internet. Lesson #1 If the video has a disclaimer, read it. Lesson #2 If you see it on a fan page, but not on KI's official page, it is not legit.

  3. New blog post up, this one on Firehawk's last flight. Bring your tissues for this one (just kidding). http://kingsislandghosts.blogspot.com/2018/11/Firehawks-final-flight.html

  6. I'd be less worried about spreading the word on here, lol. There is over a thousand people on Facebook who thought it was real. I'm pretty sure everyone on this site knew it wasn't real.

  7. Thanks. The reason I gave such a long intro was because most people aren’t enthusiasts and don’t know much about that stuff. So I thought a backstory would be okay. If people didn’t like it, then it’s not really my issue[emoji108][emoji2535] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. So the guy manning the booth was Peter Loewen, the president. Just for fun, here are his marketing materials:

  9. It's additions like these, even more so than HangTime, that really show the type of love that Cedar Fair actually puts into Knotts. Always stepping it up in the "little" ways.

  10. If you've heard this like I have, its not true. Over the past few days, I have heard people talking about a New "Steel Beast" coaster. But sadly, this isn't true. It is a mere concept and even says it in the description. This is actually just a video just showing off an idea of a coaster like this. Kings Island may be getting a coaster, but this ain't it chief. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aLWpNp_G3s&t=107s

  11. Here is a pretty cool timelapse that WCPO post showing the transformation of the Royal Fountain into Snowflake Lake ice skating rink: https://www.wcpo.com/entertainment/time-lapse-kings-island-fountain-transformed-into-winterfest-ice-rink

  12. Actually, OC Register calls it new, whereas Knotts themselves don't. I like how Bigfoot will finally tie into Calico better, without dropping the Bigfoot theme entirely. (Even getting a new Bigfoot animatronic to replace the old one that got spooked and ran away way back when). I kind of hope they bring back the waterfalls too. https://www.ocregister.com/2018/11/13/knotts-berry-farm-announces-new-water-raft-ride-calico-river-rapids/

  13. Even without the disclaimer in the description about it being a concept, the dialogue in the video should have been a dead give away that it wasn't an actual announcement.

  14. What a fantastic TR! I hope to go to the zoo during the Festival of Lights. What a fantastic event. Lots of fun. I still haven’t seen Fiona. Heck she’s practically full grown now. Can’t wait to see her though!

  15. Well, to be fair, Knott`s is just down the road from Disneyland. They have to do stuff to keep the park fresh and competitive. I really enjoyed my visit out to Knott`s when I was on my honeymoon with my wife back in 2015, and that was even with Xcelerator down for maintenance during our visit.

  17. They just upgraded the theming with “annoying loud coaster overhead” that cost millions, what more do you want? Total soak half the raft waterfalls like at CP would be nice. Lol.

  18. I would love some additional theming and its own identity aside from Kings Dominion and Canada's Wonderland. Rivertown Rapids?

  24. Alot of people enjoy Magnum for its ejector airtime. It is the real deal. It is a roller coaster that is approaching being 30 years old. It was the very first in the world hyper coaster, and is a serious landmark. It started the coaster wars that now exist to build the biggest and fastest best ride known to mankind. It should not be compared to modern rollercoasters such as Diamondback, which I love by the way. Comparing coasters of different generations is not fair. Most "rollercoaster enthusiasts" would say that The Voyage at holiday world is a far superior coaster to The Beast. I would say that these enthusiasts are not taking into account the age or history of The Beast. See, The Beast is approaching 40 years old and the Voyage isn't even 10 yet. What The Beast did for rollercoasters was revolutionary. What the Voyage did was perhaps improve on this slightly and it took 30 years. Apples to apples friends. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

  25. CP has been running out of room for the same amount of time Vortex has been sinking. From our perspective it may look that way, but that is just not the case. All rides have a certain lifespan. The business side of CP has to determine if the return on investment in the upkeep of ride "x" is worth it (DT and WC are prime examples as far as CP goes). It has been rumored for sometime that CP does have an exceptional amount of land near the Point.

  26. At some point, if they plan to keep on expanding, w/o ripping out still useful rides along the way, I imagine they'll purchase another plot of land (like perhaps the airport) to handle the parking, install a shuttle system and building into the curent parking lot. If they could expand out into the parking lot, there would be a TON of room.

  27. Cedar Point is not running out of space. People have thought that for decades. They will continue to innovate with the space they have, like they've been doing.
