Totally agree with you, they should at least play German themed music, but I must say that Viking Fury does a great job fitting in with the theming.

Definitely cut back on light qty. while I feel like the overall area covered is more, the quantity is less if that makes sense. Yes, overall the park as a whole has more holiday throughout, but some of the individual areas have been cut back. I’m sure it’s a cost and time management thing allocating resources. Also for a park open more daylight hours where you can actually see the details, their decorated garlands, trees, wreaths etc come in WAY below ki. The detail and lushness of our trim makes DW look sparse. I know they are going for a “simple country look” but they could definitely add detail in that area

I'm sorry, but I need to put this out there: OKTOBERFEST ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE REDONE!!!!!!! Why, you might ask? Well, if you have been strolling through the area at all for about the last 10-15 years, you will have noticed that there are only three rides (none are original), its one of the smallest areas in the park, and the German theme is 95% gone. Hey guys, I'm looking at making a big playlist on Spotify of all of the songs Kings Island plays over the PA system. No rides, FunTV's or Haunt music (You can still suggest that, I may make a haunt themed playlist.) Just purely music played in the paths, All of that poppy music. Thanks! This is my current list.

Don't remove the airbrush building! Move the concept over to the area formerly known as Coney Mall. The building looks 'German", so keep it and retheme it.

They should add a zip line from the top of the Eiffel Tower and have it end with a splash landing in the Royal Fountains reservoir kind of like Diamondback. It would help bring some thrill to the area that it's desperately missing.

Looking forward to visiting Carowinds this summer (planning a Carowinds and KD trip in July, with a possible stop at BGW as well depending on time and finances)

I'm going to say a Giga Coaster, I think Kings Island really needs one at this point.

I too struggle with the Dollywood vs. KI. I think from a pure lights standpoint, I would give the edge to KI. Glacier Ridge was heavily hyped but was a bit of a letdown after going to their Illuminights. Dollywood actually felt like it has less lights this year vs. previous years. From a show standpoint, DW still is ahead but it is getting closer ever year and I might give the slight edge to KI overall.

I’ve been torn having been to both, but this year with the “step up” at ki winterfest, I think we may have edged out Dollywood. Hate to say it but even with their glacier ridge addition (which feel VERY Kings Island and slightly out of step with the feel of the rest of the park) KI just has more kinetic energy and “spectacle” no one beats Hershend in the way the apply lights to buildings (crazy anal detail) but there’s just a “big ness” here. Different parks and different moods, but you can’t not smile when you walk in to KI

After Xbase presumably gets an upgrade with the new coaster, I would like to see Oktoberfest be the next area get some love. The first thing I would do is give Festhaus some love. If you have ever been in Busch Gardens Williamsburg Festhaus, it is gorgeous with big sweeping art vistas on the wall. Call up one of the local college art departments and have them work on putting some great paintings, mosaics, etc. Expand the building and redesign the layout to be more like Harmony Hall at Carowinds. Have multiple food kiosks with one of them focused solely on German food. Have German themed music. You walk in front of KI theater, you hear German music. You cut between Starbucks and the Emporium headed towards Festhaus, you hear German music. You walk past Delirium on the way towards AE, you hear German music. You get the idea. Retheme and rename Hanks. You could easily turn this into a German quick service. Keep half of it as the mac and cheese bar and then the other half can have kielbasa, hot dogs, brats, German potatoes, cabbage, and similar foods. Move Slingshot over by Backlot. There is room between the diner seating area and the basketball game that it could go. Tear down the airbrush stand and build a smaller location elsewhere. Put a Ferris wheel in its place. Build a new set of Keggers close to Viking Fury and also put in an extreme flat like a sky roller between KI Theater and Chicken Shack. Put in a Musik Express where Slingshot is now. I doubt the park would give Oktoberfest that much love. But for the cost of a mid size coaster you could add three or four flats and really rejuvenate that area of the park.

I really hope I can make it down to Carowinds at some point in 2019. This ride looks amazing! I also still need to ride Fury 325!

I honestly think a space themed giga coaster would be excellent. How about it themed to aliens or a meteor.

KD is bizarro KI to me. Almost everything is opposite. IS is kind of jutted into the parking lot, probably much more notable before Dominator. Also find it funny that is Safari Village, you have a Volcano next to an Avalanche and an Anaconda next to a Backlot filming location. And a Crypt mixed in for good measure. Well, part of the reason for the removal of the curbs, is trip hazards. The amount of people that walk on the pathways likely led to trips and first aid runs. Not to mention the accessibility issues with people in wheel chairs. And in its current set up, it gets more of the pedestrian traffic closer to the shops where they can see the items that are for sale, which likely leads to a higher traffic through the stores and increased merchandise sales.

I have heard Adele's "Send my Love (To Your New Lover)" at Kings Island so many times that whenever I hear it elsewhere I pretend I am at the park. Such was the case when the song played on Mix 107.7 while I swam at the Y yesterday... Also if Michael Franti's "Say Hey (I Love You)" isn't on the list already, that's another great song played at the park. I have also heard Jordin Sparks' "One Step at a Time," Ellie Goulding's "Lights," Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up," and Colbie Caillat's "Bubbly" each a number of times as well.
