  3. ^I like your ideas, but I also like the International Showplace. I'd love to see a Harmony Hall type of building in Xbase if a GiGa were to ever go over there. It wouldn't solve the indoor show dilemma, but I do think there needs to be an indoor sit-down eatery on the back side of the area formerly known as Coney Mall. (I'd love to see the Kill Mart building turned into an indoor eatery, with patio dining options along The Racer.)

  4. I haven't seen any advertising for it in Central Kentucky. I've blabbed on and on about it though! A coworker is bringing her family and I am bringing a friend for NYE. My parent wanted to c.this year, but they are dog sitting and it just didn't work out logistically. Think about this, though: So many people said WinterFest would never return because of the unpredictable weather, the market has changed, Cedar Fair has no interest, etc. In just two seasons, the park has opened up more real estate than it ever did before for WinterFest, had more rides open, more shows, more food and more lights than ever before. The event has spread to almost half of the CF parks. It's free for pass holders. And it scored a #2 spot in the USA Today poll, beating Dollywood! (if you take stock in these fan-based polls.) Pretty impressive.

  5. Up until Wed we loved the reds buffet. Something was really off that night. The green beans were awful, my husband said something to an employee and their response was they had a different crew. And yes, no dessert, I asked and they just shrugged their shoulders. But when we were leaving the park we were in the trim a tree shop and they had the cookies for sale at the cash register, I couldn't believe it. We stopped at guest services just to let them know we were disappointed and we were told they didn't expect the crowds, that was not an answer as we were the second people in the restaurant. I was looking forward to having it NYE but now I'm not so sure.

  6. From a feasibility standpoint, Congo Falls would be the best ride to relocate because it doesn't really fit in Action Zone anymore. It also might get more ridership if its near other water rides like WWC and RFYLCB where people who are already wet can go from one water ride to another.

  7. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2017/april/the-legend-of-fess-parker...-in-northern-kentucky https://www.bcpl.org/cbc/doku.php/frontier_worlds https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fess_Parker "Parker became interested in opening a Davy Crockett-themed amusement park. In the late 1960s, he optioned land in northern Kentucky at the confluence of Interstates 71 and 75, with the intention of building Frontier World. However, when the Taft Broadcasting Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, began building Kings Island Amusement Park in nearby Mason, Ohio, less than a 2-hour drive from Parker's site, financing for Parker's venture dried up."

  8. Technically it rebooted at great adventure in 2016, but you have to wonder if that was more of a “guaranteed better weather” test of some of the concepts that were really designed for the parks that started it in 17. And I really think the response to this event, and the feel of the park and the level of immersive entertainment will begin to shape the regular season more and more as we go. I think we are already seeing this with the proposed international festival this summer.

  9. It looks like someone already made a mock up of the ride. Looking at Gould’s website, ride will have theoretical capacity of 400 pph.

  10. It has always been my belief that Rivertown needs another "river" ride besides White Water Canyon. What if the park built a MACK water coaster on the current site of the building and themed it to the old Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal? They could call it "Keelboat Rampage." The ride can pay homage to other Kings Island attractions, defunct and existing. You would enter the ride through the old Tomb Raider/ Crypt entrance, with the queue rethemed to an old abandoned boat house located on Kenton's Cove (similar to how Disney themed and decked out Expedition Everest's queue line). The boat house was abandoned due to sudden rapid overgrowth (Mystic Timbers) and sightings of a rampaging monster in the wooded area the boathouse resides in (The Beast). This, however, may require the removal of the old Crypt show building, but it would really enhance the area.

  11. Good idea! How about enclosing Amazon Falls, renaming it The Catacombs. Then people ride the ride, step off the ride and walk through a dark walk-through haunted catacombs to escape!
