  1. For reference these are pictures of what the tunnel from Fury 325 looks like: Source Source I would of course prefer a tunnel like this to be a bit longer. But I agree with @Ben43065 and would rather have the concrete styled tunnels.

  6. Well you said you wanted a B&M clone of a typical strata coaster except with a chain lift and inversions. The whole point of strata coasters is the launch. Putting a chain lift on it just makes it a taller giga. Making it longer, adding inversions, and a chain lift makes it a completely different coaster. In other words, not a clone. If you would have just said i want a 400 ft tall coaster with inversions, I dont think anyone bats an eye. Well maybe. But to reference a specific coaster as something you want but then describe a completely different coaster and call it a clone, you make people question if you are serious or trollng. It wouldnt be the first time that happened in this thread.

  7. Wow, I never knew that a post talking about my dream giga coaster could be called a troll post. (sigh) Seriously though, that post was my honest opinion, and if you don't like it, that's fine. No need to imply it's a troll post.

  8. There is. When Hanna Barbera went the way of Geauga Lake from Kings Island, they still had Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle - which operated on a different license from the Sally Dark Ride Corporation. The problem was, Scooby couldn't exist in the same "universe" as Nickelodeon, so the compromise they were able to come up with was to say that it was on I-Street. That just hasn't really changed.

  9. King Louie's Winter Walk-through 2019 Report! Hi guys! On February 16th, 2019 I was able to attend Kentucky Kingdom's off season event, King Louie's Winter Walk-through. For those who don't know the park started this tour in 2017 under the event name "Keys to the Kingdom" and i was fortunate to attend the first event. I was not able to attend the event last year as it was held the same day as Winter Chill Out at Cedar Point. However this year I made sure to attend no matter what. Since the park reopened under Ed Harts management in 2014, the park has installed 2 brand new roller coasters, refurbished two existing coasters at the park and is adding their 6th coaster in 2019, The Kentucky Flyer. Kentucky Flyer is being constructed by Gravity Group and will be located on the waterpark side of the park, with the entrance being located near the parks craft beer garden and Skycatcher. It is also amazing to say that the park is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019 Here are some interesting notes about the presentation we received at the start of the event and during our walk-through: As noted the park is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019 Along with the 30th anniversary, merchandise of former rides will be available. The items shown during our presentation included t-shirts of Chang and Vampire Rock N' Roller is being relocated to King Louie's Playground this season and will take the place of the parks former Somba Baloon Ride Kingdom Fries will be returning this season Thunder Run's 180 degree turn near Storm Chaser and Eye of the Storm is receiving a complete re-track. Everything mechanical on the parks Raging River Rapids Ride came from Opryland. Frightfully Funny Fire Engine will not be returning this season. Enough babbling on here is pictures from the event as well as coverage over on Youtube Happy Family and Journey To Atlantis will return this year. The former ride location for Rock N' Roller The new location for Rock N' Roller, replacing the parks Somba Balloon Ride Frightfully Funny Fire Engine will not be returning this season. Thunder Run's 180 degree turn near Storm Chaser and Eye of the Storm is receiving a complete re-track. The Waterpark skyline is changing this year and you dont see me complaining! The station area is in the process of being constructed A look at the start of the rides Quad down. The first of 4 airtime moments starts on the right as you travel downwards. A look at the lift area of the ride as well as the final airtime hill into the brake run. The shaping on the last hill reminded a lot of us of Magnum's final bunnyhills. The transfer switch is in place as well as one of the lift chain gears. This pathway will be the rides entrance/exit The ride's transfer barn. One train will be stored here at night while the other train is in the station. Steel rails for the track are awaiting their placement. I would like to send a special thank you to everyone at Kentucky Kingdom for allowing myself and others to attend the tour that was put together and for everything they did during the tour. If you haven't been to Kentucky Kingdom before or thought of going back, please consider it. Kentucky Flyer is looking amazing and it is looking to be a great year for the park!

  10. KI may or may not need a Giga Coaster...but did KIC really need another thread about a Giga?

  11. It appears that Whitewater still sells flumes and some other cool water rides. Mack has some nice water rides though too and Cedar Fair at least has showed some interest in working with them. https://www.whitewaterwest.com/product-category/water-rides/ oh and Sansei (sadly the closest we get to Arrow anymore) has some traditional flumes https://www.sansei-technologies.com/eng/product/play/rapid_ride.php

  12. Also with CP and KI their log flumes. KKBC was amazing. So what White Water Landing. I wish those would make comebacks. With WWL at CP we got Maverick so that forgivable. With KI an empty box sits on the ruins of KKBC.

  13. The map was posted on Carowinds Facebook page as well. With that said it leaves Carowinds with 0 dry park water rides when they once had 4 and maybe something I'm forgetting. Sorry for not using actual names in some cases but I recall their log flume, the super flume, super saturator, now the rapids. All while keeping it's location in the south?

  14. Hey @chugh43 I have one done lol Iron Beast - With a vert loop. First ever on a giga and tunnels!

  15. A tunnel would be fantastic! If they do add a tunnel though I’d hope it’s not the crappy leviathan tunnels. Beast concrete styled tunnels would be what I’d personally prefer.

  16. I could load up my No Limits project for my Beast Unleashed coaster and take a bunch of screenshots of different color combos lol

  17. You probably could (probably) fit a Bavarian Beetle styled coaster in that area and name it: International Runner

  18. Haha I will try my best. I will say some of the colors blend in with the trees so the supports are hard to see but let me see what I can do haha

  19. We need at least 15 mock ups/color combos lol.

  20. I am not 100% certain this has been discussed, but I would love to see some kind of tunnel or two for the giga we may or may not get. I'd love it to have a portion go underground, maybe have a walkway to the ride over that portion similar to Fury's tunnel. I of course would love another tunnel, maybe to go with the lay of the land. Thinking more and more about it, I'd love for a hunter green colored track with brown supports or a purple track and a black support combo. Where are the artists in here? Can y'all make some mock ups for color combos on Giga track? lol

  21. Actually, Red Force is 367 feet, so it isn't over 400 feet. I understand that this would be confusing. What I meant to say was I wanted a coaster whose lift hill was a clone of Red Force, but with a lift hill and a stall. The rest of the ride would be different. Now that I think of it, clone might not have been the right phrase. Anyway, shall we get back on topic?

  25. Considering that it's been home to both The Smurfs and Scooby Doo in the past, "It's a Re-theme, Charlie Brown" certainly isn't outside the realm of possibility. I would prefer Phantom's return, but admittedly, a ride that takes you through the iconic moments of The Peanuts would be a pretty cool addition, as well.

  26. so, wait a minute. All I have to do to trigger someone on this site is to mention "Intamin"? Crap, I didn't know it was that easy- whole new ballgame folks.

  27. I said I'd deliver, and I'm a man of my word so here's some more speculation material. Unless someone has a wicked good telephoto lens, we're not reading that tag on the spine. Looks like it might just be a barcode anyway. Can't decipher any of the writing on the spine, could just be QC stuff/notes from manufacturing. Who knows if this is for the KI project. I have my doubts. Kinda looks like a dive machine track or a hyper based on the turn radius on some of the pieces. Could be for Hershey Park's hyper or Yukon Striker.

  29. Phantom Theater was a great ride. But I still remember riding the Smurf`s Enchanted Voyage when I was really young. I remember being super mad that Kings Island decided to remove the ride and replace it with a "dumb" haunted house. Funny that now I would love to have that "dumb" haunted house back.

  30. This is one of those stupid cases and hope this does gets thrown out of court. Otherwise if the case succeeds, it could have Haunt implications at all CF parks including KI https://pennrecord.com/stories/511741307-mother-of-girl-scared-at-amusement-park-s-halloween-event-seeks-150k-in-lawsuit

  31. This is just... wow. How dumb can people get? And yes, I know it's not appropriate to call someone dumb, but I feel like it's OK in this scenario. What don't they understand about Haunt being scary? It's supposed to be like that, and if they didn't read any of the warnings, then this is completely their fault. Plus, if she didn't want to be scared, why did the mom take her? (deep breath) I'm sorry, rant over.

  32. Now if they would only bring back the water feature at The Beast! Not necessarily the pond but the water feature (tower that’s SBNO) by the queue was awesome!!!

  33. So far for 2019 Antique Cars Return International Street Makeover X-Base Construction Beast Car Repaint Racer Track work I think this is the most exciting off season we've had to date. It makes me happy to be a KI fan because I feel like they listen to what the people want more than any other park. The park does a great job appealing to nostalgia and what works for the park.

  34. I know KI doesn't have the license for this, but I would love to see Boo Blasters turned back into Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle. I miss the scooby and shaggy voices in the queue.

  38. Sorry to double post, yes I would love a Phantom return as well. Not to rain on your parade, but many a petition and email, letter have been offered to the park over the years about returning Phantom Theater but to no avail. I’d love it to return but I doubt it ever will, however maybe a Voyage to the Iron Reef or something along that category will be opening sooner than later. But always keep the dream alive on Phantom Theater!

  39. I never got to ride this ride sadly but it definitely seemed beloved. It’s was where Boo Blasters currently is right?
    1 point
  40. Would love to see this, but I find it unlikely. 1. It would be expensive in today’s world and I don’t see them making a real, true investment in a dark ride. 2. Maintenance is a continuous investment with this moreso than some others and with the current dark ride in a perpetual “kind of working” state even with very few complicated animatronics so either the expertise or the investment isn’t available or important to them. 3. Let’s not kid ourselves - you’ll get your Planets v Zomies-esque thing soon enough, but the next ride going into the Boo building is going to be something Charlie Brown related with similar props and actions to what’s there now.

  41. Looks like it's gone from the website too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also, turns out I'll be making a trip down there in June as well. I'm really excited to ride Nighthawk, Fury, Drop Zone (yes, I know it's technically called Drop Tower ), Vortex, Scream Weaver and Electro Spin. I do have a question, though- do they have the special All-Day Lockers like Cedar Point (the ones that travel with you) or just regular ones? Also, are there more than 2 locker locations? Looking at the 2018 map, the only lockers I saw were at the Front Gate and near Fury. Just wondering as I've counted at least 5 rides I'll know I'll need a locker for and 3 that I might. Thanks in advance! As a final note, the last time I went to Carowinds was 2003 (The year Reptar- now known as Kiddy Hawk- opened). I'm ready to fly the friendly skies on Nighthawk and possibly get a taste of the future on Fury!

  43. I personally can't seem to find how CCMR isn't a "good" mine train. The helixes are pretty fun, it's a long ride, the drop into the lagoon is pretty cool, not really that rough, and like I said earlier, not every ride has to be thrilling. I'd much rather have them maybe spruce up the area it's in rather than remove it, because to me it's the perfect kind of ride in the area. Heck maybe even theme some sections of ride.

  44. Oh boy here I go. To me, removing Corkscrew is a really, REALLY bad idea. Not only does it look amazing through the midway, but It'd be really hard to replace it with something. It's just so tiny and barely takes up any space. Not to mention, it's literally the only inverting ride at CP that is 48 inches. Not to mention, it's pretty dang small too. It's a pretty good ride to introduce inversions. Remove it, smaller folks can't ride and anyone who's scared of heights/drops are now stuck with Rougarou, Steel Vengeance, Maverick... (And I've personally have never had a bad ride on Corkscrew, just the other day I found it to be a pretty smooth ride. The trains aren't so great though.) I'm also really against removing CCMR. CCMR is a great starter coaster in general. And look at what else is in that same area. Steel Vengeance and Maverick. CCMR imo is a perfect fit for that area to help keep a good balance of family rides. Yeah it's a duller coaster but by no means does that mean you should remove it. Not every coaster needs to be the most thrilling thing on earth. A park such as Cedar Point just isn't a complete park without a classic Mine Train ride. And, try to ignore my username here, the Arrows at CP are to me one of the few things there that truly give CP some character. Not to mention, they all still serve a great purpose, which is being ride an entire family can enjoy. CCMR, Iron Dragon, Gemini, Corkscrew, start removing them and the family aspect of Cedar Point is just lost. And noticing how Cedar Point as started to market to families more, what's the point of marketing towards families if there aren't any family rides? In the end I'd have to go with Rougarou if I had to choose a ride to go. I've given this coaster so many chances to try and redeem itself but each time I get off wishing I rode anything else in the park instead. To me the floorless trains have done zero to improve the ride with the exception of sitting down.

  45. Noooooo! Not Wicked Twister!!! I really hope that doesn't happen (or if it does, they keep they name and theme and transfer it down south to KI)! Well, at least we will forever be able to listen to this song on Youtube: -MDMC01, a fan on Intamin Impulse Coasters!

  46. I personally think Corkscrew is fun, especially in the back. I LOVE riding Corkscrew in the back! And I don't even need to mention its neat location! Not many looping coasters corkscrew right over the midway.

  47. I do not think it is the best idea to call out other coaster clubs or coaster sites in its own thread. Even if members here think they are wrong, we don't want to be disrespectful to any club or site in the enthusiast community. This thread will be locked.

  48. This whole addition by subtraction theme in parks the past year or two has been bittersweet. I know some things must leave for certain reasons just seems really prevalent of recent. Kings Island with Firehawk, Kennywood with Log Jammer, Carowinds with RRR & whatever the name was of their Congo Falls equivalent, IOA with the Dragons, and Dollywood with thankfully just rumored at this point Slidewinder but have lost a lot recently while adding, and nearly forgot SDC with their rapids ride. As much is gained so much is lost. I had to wait to bring up Volacano :'(
