Lord almighty, get over it. I think he was saying it should be called the show fountain because of its new capabilities, not “I have it from the park directly it will now be called the royal show fountain” it’s semantics and maybe bad wording, but is it really worth trying to prove how “right” you are?4 points
-
I’m not certain he’s trying to say that Royal SHOW Fountain is the official name. I think he’s just making a comment, which is fair.4 points
-
I vaguely remember the feel of Rivertown before Diamondback. I'm hoping with this restaurant's transformation and hopefully some more landscaping (this year or down the line) that we'll have that kind of feel again. I honestly long for a place in the park to have a relaxing walk...while being able to ride rides, like the feel of Frontier Trail at Cedar Point.4 points

You’ve made a claim, @IndyGuy4KI an admin asked for you to source it. You said to look at the map. I went and looked and could find no such evidence. Not my opinion, a fact.3 points
-
You can not make a claim something as fact without a source. Please show us proof that it is indeed called the Royal SHOW Fountain.3 points

Love the elaborate menu descriptions as if the food won't be slightly below Applebees quality served by the park's renown food service staff.3 points

Not to make fun of you, but this wording made me laugh. I think it's because it gave me the idea of there being a band of Mike Koontz impersonators out there in the world making wildly inaccurate rumors to enthusiasts. Like, imagine someone in one of those Mr. Six costumes walking up to someone at Kings Island, leaning in, and gently whispering, "...We're renaming Vortex to Fortnite: The Ride." Can we please agree to refer to him as The Real Mike™ this year?3 points
-
I’d guess that’s the plan - and is arguably the best course of action. This is certainly the thing in which I am most excited for this year.2 points
-
At this point @Cedar Fair Fanboy fixed their post after understanding what was wrong with the wording. Thank you! Since we were asked to be more transparent. Even though it seems not that important, making a statement like that no matter how innocent can cause issues. In the past wrong claims have made the news, and caused confusion with park guests. We have to be very careful to protect you and the site. Let's now please stay on topic.2 points

I am sure it will be great as well. I am just a sucker for nostalgia!2 points

Haha I am thinking he is not going to like that. This troll doesn't even put words together that make sense.2 points

See your post above. You said it was going to be called the Royal Show Fountain! There is a difference between saying it looms like a show fountain and saying it’s name will be something else.2 points
-
Maybe he was planted by Vekoma. I wonder what The Real Mike KoontzTM would have to say about that? Tro fo sho!2 points
-
You just said it. It “looks” like a show fountain. That is not the same as claiming the name is The Royal Show Fountain.2 points

Not record breaking? It's right next to Tropical Twister which is 43' tall. Look at the size of that lift hill compared to that? This thing has to be 1000' tall!2 points

From a logistics standpoint, it makes little sense. They already have The Beast, Diamondback, and MT on the right side of the park. It's better to spread the crowds around the park more. The back left corner really makes the most sense.2 points

The park has confirmed the Miami River Brewery (MRB) will have a bar. I was not told if it is the same bar or a new one.2 points

Well let me take a look at the land over there and see what I can fit in!2 points

They are currently test running BLSC. I just saw the red train do a roll back through the first helix because it didn't have enough momentum to make it over the top.2 points

I feel like they did it because the existing structure offered up the best space to be converted in to a sit-down experience and since it was being underutilized. I don't think the theme played in to it at all.2 points

Time Traveler and Mystic Timbers are both prime examples of how POVs don't give an accurate representation of how exceptional both coasters are.2 points

check out this cool new addition to the park super excited, sad to see reds go though. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2019/march/new-brewhouse-restaurant-opening-at-kings-island1 point

Back row, backwards out of the Time Traveler station drop is the most intense roller coaster moment I have ever experienced, and that isn't me being snarky. I'm completely serious.1 point

I've never understood using SpiritSong as an excuse to keep Timberwolf. SpiritSong brings in crowds for three days out of the year. Hardly a reason to keep an ageing amphitheater. As soon as the right project comes along I see no reason why the park won't replace it.1 point

I've never been much of a sports fan. So this sounds more up my alley. Although they're not local, it'd be cool if they offered Not Your Father's, if not something similar. The menu sounds great! EDIT: I love how the background of the logo looks like an inflatable raft, like an homage to WWC.1 point

Idk what you're talking about, that is clearly Kings Island General Manager Mike Koontz.1 point

If this were about 10 years ago we could look forward to seeing it end up in a haunt covered with “blood”!1 point

the real question is, what are they doing with the reds memorabilia.......................id love to buy an item or two1 point

If any of the food in the park was half as good as Applebees, they'd be in a good spot. And I hate Applebees.1 point

Just received the press release. A new restaurant will open at Kings Island for the 2019 season, which begins April 20. Building on the themed Rivertown area of the park, Miami River Brewhouse will be located directly across from the park’s newest coaster, Mystic Timbers. The menu, personally crafted by Kings Island’s Executive Chef, James Major, will feature taps from the finest local breweries as well as appetizers, salads, gourmet sandwiches and premium burgers. Selections will include: Pull Apart Bread – cheddar, garlic butter, scallions with beer mustard and Sri-Rancha (appetizer) That’s One Big Pretzel – Bavarian twist with bacon jam and beer cheese (appetizer) Texas Bahn Mi – smoked beef, cucumber, carrot, cilantro with Sri-Mayo served on French bread London’s Bridge – fried cod, cheese, tartar sauce served with super slaw Big Bacon Burger – a double patty burger with Havarti cheese, candied onion, bacon jam and sliced bacon Impossible Burger – vegan burger with herb mustard, cucumber, lettuce, tomato and onion “In 2018 we opened Coney Bar B Que, featuring ribs, pulled pork, rotisserie chicken and other barbecue favorites,” said James Major. “This season, with the addition of Miami River Brewhouse, we’re continuing to build on a dining experience that guests will talk about long after their visit to Kings Island.” Miami River Brewhouse will be included in the park’s dining plans. A Busy Offseason for Kings Island Kings Island’s construction crews have been busy in the offseason. In addition to the new Miami River Brewhouse, when the park opens on April 20 guests will experience a remagined International Street, as well as the brand new Kings Mills Antique Autos and celebrate the fortieth anniversary of The Beast wooden roller coaster. In February, the park announced the construction of One Team Village, a new associate village with dormitories opening in May.1 point

I’ll miss the Reds theme and the memorabilia was awesome, but I can bet there are three solid reasons why it’s going: 1. They didn’t have the license forever. 2. The display cases and stuff cut into the seating in an age where throughput is king. 3. New menu, new look, new you. The beer garden theme is really popular now and if the menu is going to be essentially 100% revamped they might as well promote it as a totally new experience.1 point

Until food service operations improves, I’m skeptical at best.1 point

I would assume that the bar area would be staying with "brew house" in the name1 point

You know it’s offseason when a pile of dirt with an orange flag means a coaster is coming.1 point

Heard a rumor that the Reds HOF Grille was closing or being repurposed. Is this correct? Would be disappointed if true...always nice to sit and take in a few innings.1 point

People I hate to break it to you. But I talk to the real Mike (Yes i did) And I say "People Wanted to see a giga coaster to be a beast sequel, Can you do that." Mike says, "NOOOOOOOOOOO no no no nooo I don't wanted to be a sequel to The Beast. Not after the last one." So sorry everyone if your on The Beast sequel train. I think it comes to a stop.1 point

We have a hard time getting our 6 year old on rides. He likes them but doesn’t like the tickle feeling he get in is stomach. The Ghoster Coaster would have been a perfect fit for him! He doesn’t like the Great Pumpkin coaster but he loves the the small kid coaster at Dollywood1 point
