The footer forms in the picture posted earlier presumably have nothing to do with the massive (and it IS massive) clearing on the other side of X Base. I too saw both areas today - I was on the tours - and I can assure you that area they have cleared is way bigger in person. Photos dont do it justice. Whatever is planned for the area looks to be a very large project. It will be exciting when KI officially decides to reveal what they have up their sleeves. On a separate note - KI is to be congratulated on pulling off a tremendously fun event - and thanked for allowing us those tours so we can be nosy and take pictures of The areas in question.13 points

I think this is likely just a storage shed and people are making too much out of this. Now the only question left, of course, is: What's in the shed?11 points

I stand by the layout being fake. But usually for a building, cement is poured with wooden columns in spot. With gravel wrapped around them. I think the x will mark footings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk10 points

The discussion about TR:TR/The Crypt and SoB should tell people how far we have come. Instead of getting a "totally immersive dark ride adventure" or arguably the most disappointing roller coaster ever built, we're getting a B&M giga. If Paramount was still in charge of the parts, we wouldn't have any B&Ms. We'd be getting Premier coasters.10 points

I know everyone wants a record breaker but a 300+ foot coaster will make anyone wet themselves. Yes it would be nice to break a record but I’m happy with what ever we get.7 points

Keep in mind, if it is the transfer track, it will match up perfect with Diamondback and Banshee’s timelines...7 points

If this new spot by Racer is transfer shed, then the station would be over by it. This would prove the leaked plans to be fake.7 points

Hey I’m new to posting on here. I have been following this thread obsessively like clock work trying to found new evidence and new information on the project. The newest information that has developed I find interesting is , The new land clearing going on between FOF and Racer which for me rises a few questions about the legitimacy of the supposed “ leaked layout “. I have also heard people throwing out the idea of a haunt being moved in that spot but, My question is why so early in the season when they can easily do it on the offseason. Although the maintenance shed one makes a little more sense then a mere Haunt being moved but, I don’t that is still kind for shake too. Something just doesn’t sit right with those theories to me.7 points

Amusement Insiders just posted an analysis video of the layout and the concept shared on this site. He thinks we have a winner, as do I6 points

The fact they still actively chose Racer as a Coasterstock tour this particular year makes me think they're letting enthusiasts and the GP do most of the heavy lifting for promoting this new coaster since the park hasn't said a peep yet. Maybe they'll have some epic build up to the announcement. It is weird they're not even pouring concrete yet though considering it's likely a scaled up Diamondback.6 points

Like what @Shaggy said there's no sign of electrical or plumbing which would suggest that it has nothing to do with the ride itself. Usually these two things are some of the first to consider when building any type of attraction, also remember that they can't congest that area too much as the transfer for Flight of Fear is right next to the area.6 points

Everyone also keep an eye on the trucks for company names. I would expect Middleton Construction to be doing the footers for the new coaster. Perkins and Carmack were also mentioned on the Notice of Commencement and they seem to do pole barns / post beam construction mostly.6 points

I'm no engineer, but I think it means "25 feet from center, pier 2". So it's the 2nd pier and its 25 feet from the center of the structure.5 points

Edit: beastmaster posted the pic of the building before me! I was REALLY little when I went here with my mom. I just remember there was some fake gold, rock candy, and some cool geode slabs you could buy. I actually still have the geode slab we got in like 2003, it’s sitting on my desk right now.5 points

I would think the type of footers poured into the new pad between FOF and Racer would be an indication of what is being done there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't a maintenance/haunt building have a different foundation than a transfer shed?5 points

God I hope not. The existing ones are already hideous enough and stick out like a sore thumb.5 points

Correct. Both investments: - were ambitious, groundbreaking, only-of-its kind - cost $20 million+. - significantly and rapidly deteriorated over time - underwent major alterations midway throughout their lifespans, at an attempt to salvage what was left (and at the expense of capacity) - operated in parts of just ten seasons - ended up being tremendous wastes of money that would have been much better allocated elsewhere. - and left behind painfuul reminders of what once was, and what could have been, in the form of permanent haunt mazes... ---------------- We know. Its incredibly disappointing, and really just sad to think about... Now back to the topic... 20205 points

I would not be mad if we got a ride with the same height as MF. Here now, and it looks pretty big at an angle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

I think many of us are concerned that it will not even make it to the 300 foot mark, based on the plans from the city.4 points

A pier is a name for the footer and column is the support itself. Heres a handy little image I found.4 points

I think one of the issues with Diamonadbck as far as construction timeline is the location of the attraction. Diamondback station is right in the middle of the park. They had to have some footers poured before the season and the early part of the season because they would not have easy access to the station area during the day for construction vehicles once the back was in daily operation. This construction area, they will be able to access whenever they want. Fury started ground clearing on June 21 and footers on July 18. Obviously climate and soil can change timelines for construction but it seems they are closer to the timeline of Fury than Diamondback4 points

If it's for a Haunt building or maintenance, it will still need electric and water for power and fire protection. Not sure about storage sheds, though. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk4 points

With the pad between Racer and FOF I don't think it makes sense to start a haunt building this early in the season so this is either maintenance or storage. There is already rebar in the ground so concrete should be poured shortly. Even if the leaked layout is real it makes sense to open up that area beside FOF because that area is pretty busy now with just one ride and with a headline attraction it could be very congested.4 points

The X’s look to be perfectly arranged in the pattern of the footers for Fury 325’s transfer track, but correct me if I am wrong...4 points

I hope this is for transfer track and not a maintenance building. If they move the basketball games next to racer, they could make an excellent entrance plaza.4 points

@FUN&ONLY! Whoops, totally forgot Canada’s Wonderland has a giga. Still, out of all the parks in the world, we’re going to be one with a giga. I’m not complaining4 points
