Yeah, but I'm talking about the little empty area to the left, its like near the back part of the clearing. I checked Google Earth, it looks like where they set the fireworks off at. This coaster is going to be close to them, my guess is they'll have to close it like they do for The Beast. Btw, the pilot should take as much time as he needs, for his family, its nice to see pictures and videos of this, but family is first.

This picture from several weeks ago shows the little spot to the left of the clearing. That is where Field of Screams is/was located. Nothing different. Hopefully we will be able to go back up in a week.

Howdy all, I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring with a lovely MS Paint approximation of how the leaked layout would fill the land cleared. The thing that strikes me as strange about this is the lift's position nearly parallel with Diamondback, which I didn't fully realize before this crude creation. In all other parks with coasters of similar size, the two lifts are oriented different directions...and I think for good reason (i.e. to distinguish between the 2 coasters, especially if they're both B&Ms). Time will tell...

Negative. That little part of the clearing has always been there, as it's part of the boneyard. I feel those guys should have zoomed in a little more though, or actually snapped some pictures.

I bet half of the KI employees who talk about what is coming in 2020 with park guests do not even know what a giga coaster is...

Questions were submitted via Facebook and selected by Mr. Helbig. I'm sure there were probably a lot of questions about a giga, the construction, etc. but none of these were chosen by Mr. Helbig. I thought this was a pretty smart decision by the park, given that they couldn't really answer them right now anyway.

Seasonal employees are fanboys/enthusiasts like we are. They know about as much as we do.

Just seen a comment on a video saying "rumor has it" ki employees are saying its gonna be a strata coaster.. I do not trust these people with math...

Here’s an idea: they can auction off the old Firehawk track to afford a few extra pieces of B&M track to make the giga longer! I am just kidding... they will probably get creative with it like Codyfryguy said...

The sign was gone April 14, which was Dry Run Day for associates. The sign's footings were still in the ground. The first time I came as a guest was on May 3, and the footings for the sign were totally gone.

The sign is on its side next to the Test Your Strength game. It was that way last week, at least.

I've been saying for years that it only makes sense to put it back towards the back on Coney Mall for crowd distribution reasons. You already have large amounts of people flocking to the Rivertown area for DB, MT and Beast. You have a lot of people going to Action Zone, mainly for Banshee. While there are coasters and other rides in Coney, none are major draws like those others. Putting PX back there redistributes the crowds and helps out those concession stands and games as well. People are more likely to spend money if lines are shorter.

So I found a flyover vid that was uploaded today, and looks pretty recent (I think the work behind FoF is happening, but not 100% sure). Qualities not great but it does give a decent look of the overall current clearing. It has me wondering how tight some of this track will be to the tree line. One thing I didn't like about Carowinds big coasters was the parking lot view they provided. This will sure not be that. I copied the attached image from this youtube video:

I skimmed through all I missed...but as for the construction going on next to Racer...has anyone considered it could be storage for Grand Carnivale materials including the parade floats?

Because 99% of people don't freakin' care! That's why. That said, we'll see what we get. I am genuinely curious what records this ride will break, because I gotta believe it's going to break some. Which ones I don't know yet. At the end of the day though, it will be judged for years---perhaps decades---on how much fun it is. No matter how tall or fast or how big the drop is---all those records will be broken in a few years---I just hope it's a great ride!

That's... interesting to say the least. Though I don't know why they would go through all the trouble of faking the plans so well-done and professionally. And that layout does perfectly fit into the clearing...

One employee on the top of the Eiffel Tower was saying IT IS going to be a giga and IT WILL be here next year. That employee wasn't Mike Koontz.

Notice also that many lifthills are in the same direction as this. Idk if there’s any reason but it’s strange once you notice it. Edit: Also notice we’ve looped back on stuff we’ve talked about once again. Did KI hire people to keep looping us in this wormhole as a crazy meta teasing campaign? I guess we’ll never know... I can see Firehawk’s trains refusing to flip back up in the station right now... Edit: Good news! Maintenance is on their way...

They wouldn't do that as the new coaster would just so happen to break down right there on the reused track... knowing this, they'd use that part of the track just for the station, lol.

I'm currently at the park. Blue left side racer isn't running and circular footers are being poured for that building between racer and Flight of Fear. One thing that interests me is that the X Base sign under racer is gone. Has the removal of the sign been talked about yet?

Oh look, the park bench backrest has a steeper drop than our rollercoaster does and it cost 200,000x less..

I think that clearing looks much larger from that aerial photo, than it does from the Eiffel Tower!

I feel this thread is starting to go into a mobius loop, just people repeating the same points over and over.

Yesterday there was absolutely no one on site that could be seen. This implies that this particular “phase” is done and another crew is coming in sometime. The building behind Racer strikes me as a new Haunt building. There is the possibility that they are moving one of those maintenance buildings there but it seems kind of small for that.

Im very certain that the X-Base sing was removed during the off season because I saw some videos of the path to FoF and the X-Base sign was missing. It was there during Winterfest. So, its been gone since the off season.

In some ways, I still don't understand why they didn't put the station and lift hill in area of old SOB. Would have put the 300 ft. hill towards front of park more as well.

Actually that makes a ton of sense for it to be Shooting Star. Hopefully the finale is through a tunnel helix as well!
