I reached out to Mason's Eng/Building Dept. via email and received confirmation from them that no new additional plans/blueprints have been submitted yet. Also confirmed that the foundation plans and electrical plans that we have already seen are the only ones that exist so far. Because of this, I do not expect to see any additional footings/piers to be drilled anytime 'soon' that are beyond the lift/station/transfer/brake area, but electrical work can still commence in all areas detailed by the electrical plans. I say 'soon' because, even though no new plans have been submitted yet, it only took the original foundation plans a total of 2 days to get approved...so new work beyond what's shown on the existing foundation plans may still happen soon, but the plans just haven't been submitted to the city yet.6 points

I am sorry I could not get the video today because the weather... The next day I could get video is Friday... So very sorry5 points

This coaster is going to be amazing no matter the stats. It will still be the tallest and fastest in the park for the foreseeable future.5 points

I would prefer them from a comfortability standpoint. PTC trains aren't that comfortable to ride in; especially when going over airtime hills. In addition I love how much space you get when you're in a millennium flyer train.5 points

I personally don't think they would look good on The Beast but I would love them on Racer.5 points

From a marketing standpoint, I would expect teasing to start after July 7th. I believe that's the final night of Gold Season pass sales. I would expect the teasing to start right after that date. I could see them getting a early jump on Gold passes for next year at that point. Again, I don't have any inside info, but being in marketing, this is what I'd do.4 points

Seeing your images made me wonder how large the quonset hut will be. Adjusting the overhead electrical plans to proper scale to match where the foundation plans have the footings, the quonset hut is right at 30'x40', which appears to be a fairly standard size for huts after a quick search. Not quite as large as the ones you have imaged, but still cool! After all, the quonset will only hold 3 main queue rows according to below, with perhaps some decor between the two sets, so it won't be a huge hut. I'm sure it'll be cool nonetheless. The electrical plans show an extensive light package will be underneath all high points of the coaster. Not sure how that'll compare to what Fury has, but I'm sure it'll look quite good. Page 0-E7.4 with keynotes ES30 and ES34 of the electrical plans detail this. I detailed this many, many posts ago if you feel like digging thru old posts. Use the keynotes to find where they're located along the track's path.4 points

The Racer is so much smoother this year, GCI (who I believe they said helped retrack it) did a great job. Wouldn't mind GCI cars. A new paint job with new cars would be a nice addition along with this giga. Give that side of the park a fresh look.4 points

The grey is most likely just a primer still as many of the track pieces are already rusting, waiting to be painted. A final coat would have more shine and definitely not rust.4 points

^True. I always forget about DB. I just think about Banshee and MT, which (I believe) both started on the first day of the season. If not, they were very near the beginning. To me it’s just strange that there’s been next to nothing in terms of teasing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Can someone post a picture of that blue stripe on that haunt building so I can compare both the track color and that stripe?3 points

Is there still land clearing being done or are they done with that....going back to posts from last week.3 points

So I was reading a post somewhere on Facebook a couple days ago and someone commented that they work at KI and saw blue track somewhere. Interesting bit of info, do you think she could be referring to our photos from CSF or do you think there is some track already snuck in just not visible to the public?3 points

I hope to take a trip down soon to CSF. I'll post anything new that I see if it hasn't been seen yet.3 points

I have the amazing privilege of helping in the Spectacle of Color parade. I'm trained to direct (and soon drive) the floats, mainly the Venetian (with the big mask on the front; third-to-last in line) and Rio (with the parrot on the back; last in line) floats! I directed the Venetian float during the soft opening on Friday and crowd control for the France float on Saturday and I have had a blast so far! During the show stops, EVERYONE participates in the dancing, which I love because I love dancing. I guess, in other words, you have the chance to see ride ops dance (as all the parade float directors and drivers are ride ops!) in the parade as well. For someone whose "home" department is Rides, it's a special opportunity to help alongside the Entertainment department as the performers are literally right next to me, so I get to watch them and direct a float at the same time in addition to dancing during the show stops! I'm not scheduled to work every parade, but I'll be there often enough that chances of spotting me are good, like when @MDMC01 spotted me on Saturday! It's even more special seeing the guests' faces as we pass them. They definitely love it!3 points

I honestly did not think it was “rough,” but I can see why you say that as it made a very strange noise navigating the turnaround. I think it is smoother than last year, though, because while it may seem to have a vibration to it, it does not jerk you around like it did in the past. I think it is because the park is using old PTC trains on modern GCI track. If The Racer could get the Ghostrider treatment with all-new track and trains, it would be one of the best in the park, but that is something for another topic...3 points

I recently heard that last Saturday, Drop Tower was struck by lightning. That is why it has been closed. Has this ever happened before?2 points

I don't think any teasers will happen until July. I also think the announcement will be at the end of July, the first one for any Cedar Fair park for 2020.2 points

^ Fury lighting is cool. Doubt it's in the budget for our giga. They will probably have a ride op shine a flash light on us while we go up the lift. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk2 points

I would really like to see this coaster have a light package like fury325 I just love the way it looks Pc: Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk2 points

The teasing for Diamondback didn’t start until July 4, and that construction was in the middle of the park!2 points

I know we’ve been saying it for a while now, but I really do think teasing will start within a week. It makes sense to wait until Grand Carnivale starts so as to not take away from it, but I don’t think they’ll wait all the way until it’s finished as, going off when announcements have been done in years past, that would give them only about a month of teasing before the announcement. Who knows, maybe that’s what they have planned. Maybe they won’t tease at all. Imo that would be very strange given the scale of this project, but if not teasing causes more hype, so be it. Plus, if their intent was to have people spread rumors about a giga before teasing starts, mission accomplished. Most everyone, including a lot of the GP, know something big is coming, most likely a 300’ y’all coaster. However, with no really big recent developments (For the point of argument, im saying the hype around track color has died down), I think some teasing should be in order to keep people excited. Just my two cents on the matter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I think they are pretty much done with land clearing, but there may still be a couple trees to come down or some dirt to be moved. Maybe someone who has been to the park recently has more insight on this.2 points

Portions were around 7 dollars, with the pass 5 dollars each. And they were fantastic samples!2 points

Millenium Flyers are heavier then the PTC trains so they might to add supports to make them usable. I doubt KI would want to or had space for that kind of project with how the midways are on either side of the coaster.2 points

As much as I would love Millennium Flyers on those two coasters, I don't think the park is interested in doing that.2 points

Thanks for this photograph and your continued insight, @BSBMX. Off-topic question: The re-tracking of The Racer seen in that photo-has the ride improved at all and was it done by a particular company? On-topic question: One of the comments repeated on KIC since 2007 has been that XBase needs a restroom. Have these blueprints revealed the potential of any restrooms being constructed? On-topic followup question: If the park does build restrooms in X-Base to go along with this new ride, will they be somewhat shorter, abbreviated, and only almost as good as their Canada and Carolina counterparts?2 points

But WindSeeker doesnt drop this fast. WindSeeker just has several slow motion helixes then a 1 minute descending break run to the ground. Sitting in the back seat of WindSeeker doesnt feel faster either.1 point
