  2. Remember seasonal employees know about as much as we do. Remember those who speak don't know, those who know don't speak.

  3. Once KIC gets the official notice from the park we will post it.

  4. Teaser Posters are ready!!!! Quick preview: Nothing to be sad about. It was a joke!!! lol

  5. Instead of "happy little trees", I guess he makes "happy Lil Gigas"! Also, anyone at the park seen any teasers? It would be cool (and telling) if the teasing started today as it is the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. On a related note, I wonder if there are any references to the moon landing during any of today's performances of Gravity?

  6. Saw a Coaster Net video from today and they claimed that there was a rumor that during the July 4th fireworks, MF logo was shot into the air along with constellations. Was anybody there that saw this and can confirm?

  7. They just told us to feel free to cheer, growl and make 'Alien noises' during the show lol

  9. It wasn’t what I was talking about, but that is something that has occurred to me might be happening, and something I already suspected would happen. People (in this case, not really here as much as elsewhere on social media and in public) are still complaining that KI “got their hopes up too much” about the shed. When I was there for the announcement, I saw an awesome trailer for an awesome coaster, which stopped short of showing the brake run with the simple question “what’s in the shed?” My immediate thought that night, and continued to be my guess, was some sort of screens showing something. It turned out to actually be even cooler than I expected, but people still complain more about the shed than they compliment what has come to be one of my favorite rides in the park. It’s a bit as if you got some awesome expensive electronics as a gift and were still griping a year later about the paper it was wrapped in. When it comes to actually bringing in revenue for the park, making fun advertisement or teasing for an upcoming ride likely has not a whole lot of effect when compared to the actual ride itself. The park employs a lot of people who, like many of us, truly enjoy the park and want to have fun with it. Those people like to have fun with the fans, as well. Examples of this are things like the new paint on the old arcade referencing former rides, the Flight of Cheer and other theming posters, and even something as big as Coasterstock which almost certainly costs nearly as much (in actual labor for the ERTs and the mental cost to come up with new fun things each year to keep us entertained) to put on as it brings in with our registration fees. But when it seems like the loudest (and often most amplified) of those calling themselves fans are debbie downers, especially when they’re complaining about the things that are done more for fun than for revenue, it isn’t much fun to play with them anymore. As much as I love the special playful extras the park has done that I’ve been able to enjoy, the ungrateful attitudes of others often make me say “well I wouldn’t want to do anything special for them either.”

  12. Yes, at least I believe so. Pretty sure they did with MT anyway ETA picture update from just now. Nothing new to report Second ETA: rode Racer and they have removed 3 of the 5 large white tubes I had mentioned earlier yesterday, so they are currently being used somewhere in some way. There were some new darker colored smaller tubes near them now too

  13. I doubt they would rename one of their most popular coasters. I think it's fine the way it is.

  14. Found this old promo video from Millennium Force on YouTube!

  15. I was at KI Friday and asked the old guy at the top of the tower if he knew anything about the coaster they were putting in. He was saying it was going to break records, be between 300-400 ft tall and go over 100 mph. I found it a bit amusing considering the plans we have seen.

  16. That 2nd pic, that's going to be the first element ever on a coaster called the WTF. I dont know where you enter, exit or do... but its "out there".

  17. I was at the 4th of July fireworks and I thought it was just a coincidence that there was the millennium force logo in the fireworks!!!!!!

  18. Nothing yesterday. I know it's been discussed already but I'm honestly curious why Kings Island social media has been so infatuated with gravity over the past week. I suppose it could be related to the moon landing anniversary. just not so sure. Time will tell I guess

  19. I found it amusing that recently on social media, I saw a post where someone was swearing the announcement would definitely be mid August because several employees at the park had told him. I couldn’t help giggling because I’m sure those employees “know” because they’ve seen the same claims and heard the same rumors as we have, not because they’ve been given inside information.

  20. ^There appears to be a floating object in the sky? Is it a UFO perhaps or did the train fly off the tracks.

  21. Or “watch for shooting stars”

  22. It think it would be cool for the signs on the fence. Like MT where it said " Watch for Falling Trees". This time it could say " Watch For Falling Stars".

  24. While we all follow the same blueprints... if I'm not mistaken, the actual construction of the ride blueprints have not been made public, correct? So, the overlay or underlay of the ride visible on the electrical prints is "for illustration purposes only", lol. Only big thing countering this whole potential theory is the footer layouts that are factually lining up with current prints

  27. Not much to report, but here is an update from today. Rebar and cement poured in footers near turn around. Lift footer had wooden mold ready to pour. There were large white pipes (the size of DB suppprts but like 15ft long) behind the red shed/barn that you can see on your way back when riding blue racer. I thought they were supports at first because they are about the right size but I I don't think that's what they are because the ends don't look right, they just look like very large tubes. They weren't there a few days ago, but only way to see them is blue racer so no pics of course. I don't think they are for the coaster, but wonder what they would be used for

  31. The guy on Reddit told me that 8 pm on August 15th is when "the festivities" begin. So maybe it'll be more than just an announcement. Like a celebration festival with an announcement. Kinda like what Cedar Point did for unveiling Steel Vengeance with the Frontiertown Hootenanny.

  33. This is before he added in the bit about August 14th, but comments on the original post confirm that's the date he added. I doubt this is even true though.

  34. I wouldn’t be disappointed if they just held the announcement in Festhaus (as that seems to be a very easy set up). But if we are going by history, it will probably held over by Flight of Fear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  35. I doubt they would reuse the site of the MT announcement since this coaster is not going into Rivertown. They usually do their coaster announcements at or near the site of the new coaster. Banshee's announcement was held on the Action Zone plaza right in front of the fence.

  36. All that cement poured was only to stabilize the steel for the new x-base bathrooms

  37. Remember what happened when someone posted the leaked layout on here before they deleted it right away. Many people thought that it was fake, but it ended up being real. I think within the next week or so, the park will put posters on the fence saying when the announcement will be and send invitations for the announcement to local news stations. Although there might not actually be a full-out teaser campaign, I could see the media invitations and announcement description to “hint” at the theme. I have attached a picture of what the posters on Mystic Timbers’ construction wall said prior to the announcement...

  38. It has to do with the bolts. They aren't just setting the support on the concrete. The support actually never touches the concrete. The weight is all on the bolts which will have a nut above and below the support flange. They then go back and put a grout in the gap to finish it up after everything is bolted together. The concrete has to be cured enough to support both a downward load, and, with supports that lean out past the pier, a vertical load. It's a bit more complicated than a concrete pour where the load sits right on the concrete. If they put the load too early and a bolt moves, they probably have to rip the pier cap out and repour.

  39. All he said was what we already know plus the fact the park will stay open 2 hours later & the announcement will be projected onto the FoF building.

  40. Banshee had station and lift vertical progress by Sep 10th 2013. I'm expecting mid-late August to be the beginning of vertical construction.

  41. I doubt that a park would stop a whole teasing campaign because a few people found the blueprints. The majority of people have yet to see the blueprints and probably don’t know they even exist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  42. They've been teasing this for years. If you take the O from Vortex, the R from Racer, the I from Invertigo, the O from Drop Tower, and the N from Banshee, it spells ORION.

  43. Has anyone been to Mason to see if we have the complete prints? I would like to see BSBMX interpretations once we can get them. Even though we know most things about this coaster I still have no clue about the theme. All we know is possibly Orion or Polaris. Will it tie into Xbase? Will it be alien themed or spaced themed or something else? What is in the Quonset hut? Teasers would help. If the announcement is to be on 8/14 I think we will still get teasing toward the theme soon. Plenty of time.

  46. I can honestly say this might be a real possibility. When i worked at Kings Island in 2013....i was the supervisor of ice scream zone and about a month before the announcement i was told they were building a ride and me and my counter part had to try and match the colors of Banshee too our ice cream so when they announced it everyone could get a Banshee swirl. It was fun but my god my hands were a blue and red for WEEKS! Take it with a grain of salt but that’s my story about when Banshee was built. I can’t think of any restaurants around that area though that would do something similar. But again just showing it’s a real possibility.

  47. They teased SoB, Banshee , DB and MT so why would this coaster be different?

  48. I made this a long time ago, and now is the perfect time to finally use it for good. This is from when I was about 14 and just learning graphic design, so bear with my poor concept of scale.
