  2. Les Taxis did run during Winterfest in 1991, so I would think Kings Mills Antique Autos would be running this year. I think the website is still showing the attractions from last year and has not yet been updated.

  3. I'm sure this has been said many times... has there been any word of a construction cam? You think they'll install one for post season? After Haunt? =o I sure hope we get one! =D

  5. Yes, someone knows.. lol Had to add a little more Terpy humor. About a month ago I heard he is doing well.

  6. I saw this also, short straight section between the curved track and the transfer track. * Now that I look at it closer, it looks that that second piece of track is actually in the storage station, not next to it. They need a cam on top of the FOF building so we can see all the details

  7. Here’s a couple of edited photos with filters applied. There’s definitely a piece behind the transfer shed, just baaaarely peeking out.

  8. At least it's not above the transfer building like Diamondback which causes people to toss poneytail holders onto the roof.

  10. Shhh... let them figure it out.

  11. Yep, that’s entirely possible. I wish we had a better view, but at least we have one! 10 AM and the site has no activity today, so they must have the day off. A lot of work was completed yesterday so they deserve it.

  12. lol, there has to be at least 100 up there. Someone would probably find a sneaky way to throw a ponytail holder on orion's transfer shed though.

  13. I went through each of the 11 main Cedar Fair parks, excluding Gilroy Gardens, and looked at their flat ride collections compared to ours. I looked at each of the park's collections and then for the purposes of this list took away the comparable rides to ours. I also did not count children's only rides in this list. In looking at the pro's and con's of these, I will be looking at the last installation by year of the ride type, any removals throughout the rest of the chain, and the chain's recent relationship with the manufacturer. All of the rides below are rides that we currently do not have. For simplicity, I also combined similar ride types (i.e. a Music Express and Matterhorn) as while there are minor differences they are basically the same ride. I am only going to look at rides that there are at least 3 rides elsewhere. In case you were wondering, the flat rides that are in all 11 main Cedar Fair parks are Bumper Cars, the Carousel, and Flying Scooters. Trabant (4 parks), Calypso (3 parks), and Swing Around (3 parks) are all defunct models so I also didn't include them. Of the ones we don't have that are still manufactured: Ferris Wheel (6 parks: CP, DP, KD, MiA, VF, WOF) (Last installation: KD 2009 (GL relocation)) Pros: There are several areas in the park where it would look nice and it is a great family ride. Cons: They have low efficiency. With Newport building a permanent Ferris Wheel and Cincinnati working to keeps theirs full time, it probably doesn't make much sense to add one at the current time. Musik Express / Matterhorn / Himalaya/ SeaStorm (6 parks: Carowinds, CP, DP, MiA, VF, WOF) (Last installation: Nordic Chaser, WOF 2018) Pros: Something everyone in the family can do and could go anywhere in the park. Carowinds' Rock n' Roller was the most popular flat ride in the park in 2018 according to their blog. There are various manufacturers but Cedar Fair seemingly has a good working relationship with Mack who manufactured both Nordic Chaser and Rock n' Roller which was part of the Europe flat ride finds. Cons: Coney Island does have a Himalaya but I don't think that would be a determining factor. Enterprise (4 parks: CAGA, Carowinds, DP, and WOF) (Last installation: DP 1984) Pros: It is a fun and classic amusement park ride. Cons: Considering that the chain has dramatically been reducing their fleet of Enterprise due to maintenance costs, this one is not going to happen. I could see something like a Zamperla Endeavor but we aren't going to get a Huss Enterprise. Tilt-a-Whirl (4 parks: CP, DP, MiA, and VF) (Last installation: DP 2002) Pros: The Tilt-a-Whirl is a good family ride and is one of those rides that could easily go anywhere in the park with the right themeing. It also takes up a relatively small footprint. Larson International now has the rights to the building of the Tilt a Whirl and the park has put another Larson product in the Flying Scooters in many of the parks in the chain. They also put in a Larson Loop at ValleyFair. The ride can also be themed nicely (see Turkey Whirl at Holiday World) Cons: Another ride that Coney Island has. Looping Starship (3 parks: Carowinds, KD, and VF) (Last installation: Carowinds 1986) Pros: Visually appealing. Cons: Considering its manufacturer is Intamin that pretty much knocks it off the list immediately. None of the parks that have a standard pirate/swinging ship also have a Looping Starship. This one also isn't happening. CF also removed the one from CAGA recently as well. Top Scan (3 parks: CW, Carowinds, and KBF) (Last installation Carowinds/KBF 2017) Pros: The chain seemingly has a good relationship with the manufacturer Mondial. They had enough faith in the model to put it in two of their parks (even if Carowinds was part of the European scavenger hunt). Would be another "thrilling" flat. Cons: It wouldn't appeal to everyone in the family. Of this list I would say the most likely are: 1. Musik Express 2. Top Scan 3. Tilt-a-Whirl

  15. Even though I have never added to the collection, for some reason I like this tradition. It reminds me of the old gum tree in the line for White Water Canyon back in the day...I miss that.

  23. Collin, the piece I’m referring to is behind the transfer shed and thus not currently visible. I watched the cam live as they lowered the piece into place with a crane, and it was held in that spot for approximately 30 minutes or so until the crane moved on. Edit: You can see the blue of the track here. It seems to be on the same plane as the track that’s already installed, and this is the area where the track was being lowered into place yesterday by the crane.

  24. There is no track installed besides the one that is visible. Its sorta hard to see but you can see the two supports with no track on them

  25. That one likely has track already on it. I saw a piece being installed behind the transfer shed and it isn’t visible on the cam.

  30. I have been starting to go through our galleries and sort pictures and such. I thought it would be cool to bring up some of those pictures and allow others to tell stories and share memories that these pictures bring up for KIC members. This is a few of our pictures of the original Bat in Coney Mall that Vortex now occupies. A prototype suspended coaster made by Arrow Dynamics which opened in 1981 closed in 1983. Feel free to post more details if anyone has them. I have added the fully gallery of pictures of the original Bat on the now Bat's page at the bottom. https://kicentral.com/the-bat/

  31. Wow. I had no idea. I literally typed it in and it didnt work but I used your link and it worked so thanks! ALSO, here are two things: 1. I wonder if it will cost $40 for the carriage ride again 2. I wonder what improvements they will make to Tinsel Town. Last year it seemed that area of the park was lacking what was stated it would be.

  33. When they were building the ride back in January, they made a twitter ad with one of the maintenance people driving the car. So, I think because they could work in cold temperatures it is a good possibility that they would be open.
