  2. I think what's going to happen is they'll put up the brake run and then after that is done in about a week or so if you ask me, then they'll start on the lift hill. They'll have to get the large cranes in before they start on the lift hill. Banshee I think started with the transfer track area and then brake run and then lift hill.

  3. What are you talking about?? Cincinnati is in the tri-state area. If you aren't familiar with the Cincinnati area, it borders both Kentucky, and Indiana, and is split by the Ohio River. There is nothing "stupid" about the tweet. As anyone familiar with Cincinnati would understand, the connections between Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio run very deep in the area.

  4. This Beast, or the new (blue) beast? Ps, notice WindSeeker is up in this picture? And this is on subject, since you can see blue track in the background. :-P On edit: Added watermark, so a certain user/channel/group doesnt steal any more pictures. :-)

  19. Right im glad we have cams lol some parks dont. Might be blurry or what ever, I think the Banshee one was good, but the focus is on Orion now. Im excited to watch its progress.

  32. That looks about right. Also, I'm probably just imagining things, but they look to be moving one of the turn into station track pieces. EDIT: I think that track piece is being put into place!!!! EDIT: That piece is in place!!!!

  40. I know this is a probably going to be a rather unpopular opinion, but I don’t think Kings Island should get an RMC Hybrid or an RMC Wooden Coaster. As more an more of these coasters get built, they all start to feel the same in my opinion. They all have the same elements and similar forces, and they are all very similar to one another, the one exception being Lightning Rod. RMC said in an IAPPA interview that they want to do more ground up Hybrid coasters instead of wooden coasters, and I don’t see Kings Island getting a ground-up hybrid when Steel Vengeance is in the same state. Ours would almost certainly have to be worse than Cedar Point’s or people would come to Kings Island instead. Also, because all RMC’s have the same elements and the same general feel these days (again, in my opinion), people would think our RMC is too similar to Steel Vengeance which is three hours away. I do, however, like the idea of a 200-foot record-breaking wooden coaster, but I think they should go with a different manufacturer. Something like an Intamin pre-fab would be amazing as there is only one in the United States and none of these have been built in over a decade, so Intamin could easily have new innovations to put on a new ride. In my option, however, I would absolutely love to have a new GCI as I absolutely love Mystic Timbers among others. They are smooth, fast-paced, and intense. Some may say there are not capable of building a 200-foot wooden rollercoaster, but GCI has had some really cool innovations lately which includes their all-new train design to allow for tighter transitions and the first-ever ejector airtime on GCI’s as if there was not any already. These new trains can also handle inversions and launches, and GCI has models with these elements incorporated. It will be something different because instead of parks going back and forth to see who has the best RMC, Kings Island can work with GCI and do their own thing. I attached a picture of the latest dueling GCI model and an existing large-scale GCI coaster in China which is their largest ever. Also, for all we know, Cedar Fair may never work with RMC again, or at least not anytime soon because the last three coasters they added in 2018 all experienced major problems and downtime. If downtime and maintenance problems is why Cedar Fair does not work with Intamin anymore, then I could see them taking a break from RMC as well. And it is not like it was a problem, but everything is fixed now. Steel Vengeance has terrible capacity with it rarely running all three trains and having lengthy loading times due to the cell phone problem. There is a reason why most RMC’s only have two trains, and Kings Island needs at least three trains for it to eat through lines. It is also worth noting that the three parks that received RMC’s in 2018 in the chain did not see jumps in attendance but instead actually saw decreases in attendance to start off the year. The one park the got something different that year, Knott’s Berry Farm, saw a jump in attendance with their Gerstlauer. I would not be surprised if it is a long time before we see more RMC’s in the Cedar Fair chain. GCI and Cedar Fair have a strong relationship after all of these years, so I see them as being the best candidate. https://rcdb.com/9039.htm#p=35941

  41. I think a decent idea for the train during WinterFest is to literally put lights the whole course of the track. For example, they could string lights on trees and bushes, on the parts of Diamondback that interact with the train, the rails of the bridge, Fort Coney, etc. As for the 12 Days of Christmas, I agree with @brent, @BoddaH1994, and @standbyme. It would work really well with the Antique Cars (assuming they will be open). Im not saying that the park should NOT use the train, it could just use a theme update for WinterFest. Even with the 12 Days of Christmas, the train during Winterfest is usually at full rides even with both engines running (or at least the times I've been there). And look at the benefits of the trains running. It's a ride open at WinterFest, it's a nice way to relax for a little bit after walking around the park, if it snows the scenery can be AWESOME, etc. So, all the train needs is a little retheming for WinterFest and the train could become one of the biggest attractions at WinterFest.

  42. I am also old...and I am the first to admit my memory is not the greatest. I have been to every year of Fearfest & Halloween Haunt, I also can not remember walking in Congo Falls waterway...but I do seem to remember walking in White Water Canyon’s. It was on one of the variations of the train haunt. After the train “broke down” you walked to the second half of the haunt. Unless my memory is way off, I swear at one point we walked through part of the waterway. Anyone know if I am right or not?

  43. I was thinking 12 Days would be perfect for the antique cars. The train is just to big an synonymous with Christmas for a throw-together attraction like that. I feel like the train really is the only thing that didn't exceed my expectations with Winterfest.

  44. I don't think anyone is going to notice an 18' difference. A 305' hill and a 287' hill are going to look nearly identical to the naked eye. Seeing the two numbers typed out, side by side, is the only reason, imo, some folks are thinking Orion is going to be the inferior ride. I believe this will be a world class ride experience that I can't wait for

  45. With a 52’ height requirement I personally disagree with it being a family coaster. It’s a launch rollercoaster with several inversions. In my mind a family coaster is a coaster with a 42’ height requirement or below that is thrilling enough to be enjoyed by the whole family and isn’t too intimidating. For example The Bat, Adventure Express, Racer & Backlot (Even though it is a tad bit intense)
