Makes sense they would be sprucing up the area with the new ride coming. I'm just so glad Flight of Fear is still around---amazing ride to this day.7 points

Flight of Fear is in the process of being repainted. There is a new coat on the hangar doors and the blue stripe around the building.6 points

I plan to be there after church today to check this out for myself. I have not been to the park since the announcement so this will end the streak.4 points

Time for another KIC contest! With the removal of Vortex, we want to have a great send off and celebrate its 33 seasons at Kings Island. Vortex is one of the most photogenic coasters in the park, so we want you to post your best Vortex picture! Rules: A max of 2 submissions. (Any additional submissions will be removed.) Only 1 picture per post. Double posting will be excused in this thread. Only Likes will be counted, not any other emotion. The contest will be judged by the members. So if you love a submission, vote for it with a like. You can vote on as many as you want. This will run until November 1st. I will give 24 hrs notice before I close the thread. I will then tally the votes and announce the winner! The winner will get to order a free KIC shirt as their prize along with bragging rights! Good luck! Visit our store here for more KIC gear!2 points

I know at Cedar Point, they were going to build a monster record-breaking 200 foot B&M floorless coaster, but they went with Maverick instead. This means that B&M is capable of exceeding 200 feet on a floorless coaster, and they could make something record-breaking for Kings Island. B&M could also maybe go for the North America inversion record with ten inversions or even incorporate a launch. I, personally see a record-breaking ten inversion B&M floorless coaster as a good replacement for Vortex and a good way to market the ride to the general public. So, I see the lift and the station track, but has the pre-lift track been laid? To explain what I mean, I’ll use Diamondback as an example. Coming out of the station, Diamondback has a piece of straight track before ascending the lift (and afterwards, there is one piece that curves to start the lift). For Orion, I see straight track (station track and afterwards) and the lift track, but I’m having trouble seeing the track piece where the straight track angles and connects with the lift. It should theoretically be there as the lift has been started, but it’s hard to see. Thanks!1 point

The park probably should have cleaned off the DB camera while they were moving the Banshee cam to view Orion. DB cam is nearly un-view-able.1 point

Imo they should at least add wifi service in Area 72. The wifi doesn't currently work over there.1 point

Great submissions so far everyone, but if @VortexBFForever doesn't win we riot. She has contributed too many awesome pictures of Vortex over the years to KIC not to win this!1 point

I rode Raptor a month ago and thought it was very smooth. It does have an abrupt transition from the final helix into the break run that i do not care for but it was great other than that. Also I just got back from Florida and must say that Kumba and Montu both of which were built in the mid and early 90s are running so smooth and fantansic. Mako was also great (which is new but runs the older style 4 across hyper trains). I am wondering if the older train designs are better than the new hyper and invert trains from B&M.1 point

Bumping this a bit, but wanted to share my Bat souvenir alongside @Alex103 and @standbyme. At work I have an original The Bat mug next to a new The Bat mug, both for holding pens and what-not. I don't remember where or how I got the original Bat piece, but I've had it for years now.1 point

Am I the only one who misses how much trees and wilderness used to be around the train?1 point

Sigh... I really wanted to finally be able to enjoy an actual well-themed Halloween event at the park. The Snickers theming that Six Flags takes the time to incorporate into their event is miles ahead of Kings Island’s Halloween Haunt which is missing all of the high quality Snickers theming. Maybe some day though...1 point

It's such a beautiful structure, id be hard pressed to see them actually remove it, I mean it can always be retrofitted to whatever they want to put there1 point

I'll have you both know, my friends favorite ride at King's Island is The Delirium. He like it a lot. We rides it even more then The Adventure Express... There, now everyone is happy.1 point

I find the rattle to be very uncomfortable and annoying at the same time. It is the newest B&M invert in the country and should not feel the way it does. I have ridden most of the other B&M inverts in the US and find none of them to be as uncomfortable, not even close. I don't know if it is a design or maintenance issue but it needs to be addressed.1 point
