  3. This was taken 5 minutes after the first. Thought I shared. I took them both by the exit of Zephyr.

  4. Woddies always need maintenance and see some of the points, but I don't know how anyone can complain about any KI woddies. Go ride Hoosier Hurricane at IB. Raven at HW. Voyage about 5 years ago before they started major track work was very bad. Most Six flags woddies if they have not been RMC'd. I think we are very lucky to have the KI maintenance team working on Beast, Racer, MT, and WE. They take really good care of our woddies compared to other parks. I think we need to give them a lot of credit for taking such good care of them.

  7. The ACE event was fantastic! The construction tour and presentations were great. My presentation went extremely well. Here is the book trailer that I debuted today.

  10. Okay so watched the Wildgravitytravels video and took some screen shots. Things of note... They have taken a large hill and trees out along the right side of the entrance to area 72. Could we possibly see bathrooms here?! Honestly think this is a possibility. They have removed the concrete in front of FoF entrance. Not sure why. They have extended FoF que structure as seen in the blueprints. Here is an overhead google maps showing the cleared land and area of the extended que. I’m most curious about that cleared land space as it’s not on the blueprints and we have no indication what it might be. Things are coming along nicely! Here is wildgravitytravels video

  11. I have gone to Winterfest a few times this year, and I found it interesting how light the crowds were on those visits, but I went tonight for a couple of hours, and it was as crowded as ever. The line for Mystic Timbers was an hour and almost all of the restaurants at had lines out the door. It was still a lot of fun, though, like always!

  12. Maybe for the KI and The Racer's 50th birthday a nice renovation will be done. Racer deserves it.

  13. Knowing we won't be able to get the same rides back even jsut ones that evoke the same spirit Id love to see. With KCKC, we could really use a larger flume somewhere in the park that goes through the treetops and offers a bigger thrill than RFYLCB. I like the flume we have but a bigger one would be great. Seems liek most are getting removed though so doesn't seem likely so I'm just glad we still have the one we do. Would love to see the return of a good classic dark ride like Phantom Theatre too. Maybe put it elsewhere in the park and keep Boo Blasters a shooter but give it a Charlie Brown theme for Planet Snoopy. Then give a good story based dark ride with animatronics and effects over where Action Theatre was or something.

  14. I think they do great work, and I was glad they put a lot of effort into Blue last year. The Beast I have no problems with. It's The Racer. I realize that this is very subjective, but I just don't get how two parks in the same chain can have vastly different ride and aesthetic appearances on their signature twin roller coasters. Racer 75--butter smooth and a ton of airtime. Freshly repaired track, ledgers, and batter braces. Now even parts of the structure have been redone. The Racer, the coaster that is responsible for most of the roller coasters that have come since, has a decent side and a side that is terrible to ride. And it looks terrible. It's going to be much more noticeable with Orion right behind it now. I hope a restoration is in plans for 2022.

  15. A lot of it has to do with where you sit and how you ride them. For example, if you hold onto The Beast, you are forcing your body to endure everything. Let go, put your hands up, and maybe sit towards the middle.

  16. I was always under the impression that the roughness is one of the appeals of wooden roller coasters. I love getting battered around by The Beast.

  17. I'd love to have a piece of track as a makeshift club for my car. Imagine beating some mugger into submission with The Vortex.

  20. Work is done almost every offseason. I agree that it has been smooth the past few years. You have to take a middle seat, but if you do the ride is excellent.

  21. Blue Racer was running very well this season. In fact, I had my best ride ever on it on Haunt opening night- on a wheel seat.

  22. The New Years lineup is definitely disappointing. Especially considering how bad any of the character stuff is. Last year’s attendance was bad because of the weather. That probably caused them to cut it back this year. With no rides open after 10 PM, I agree, what will there be to do for three hours? Last year they also cut out almost all the regular entertainment on New Year’s Eve. I wonder if they will do the same thing this year?

  23. ENHANCE *zooms in* I was really hoping for some surprises with this coaster like maybe a lit up tunnel, or some section to be partially undergound, maybe install some water feature around the first drop, just any surprise that wasnt shown in the promo footage wouldve been pretty cool

  24. The lineup still looks pretty cool, though. I wonder if the adult celebrations were a) not that popular or b) created issues? Either way, I'm super excited to be at Kings Island for NYE! I rarely go out for New Year's and I'm excited to live it up going into 2020!

  25. Looks like New Years Eve is changing a bit from Last Year at Kings Island. Gonna be more family friendly. Only running rides until 10pm instead of 1am. No mention of a bar and dance area in the International Restaurant either. I wonder if all the shops and restaurants close at 10pm too? If so there won't be much to do after 10 if you don't have a family.

  26. Glad this thread got bumped! As many of you know, I was a Scareactor in Field of Screams this past Haunt (as a Scarecrow) and had a blast (I was also in Madame Fatale's one night as well as Urgent Scare the last night). Though most every night was unique and fantastic in its own way, I'd like to share one cool thing. I cannot thank my supervisors enough for pushing me to do better. For those who know me, I'm a really nice guy and although I have a ton of energy (they kept telling me to "save it for the maze" as I was so hype after getting into costume lol), I was also weak at scaring at the beginning. I kept being told to be scarier and more aggressive, and I eventually found something that worked and it kept getting better. So, again, thanks to them for helping me to be scarier and (eventually) to face my fears. On the last night, I was put in Urgent Scare because it was raining and I was terrified (this maze, along with Blackout was one of my least favorite mazes). So, a few of us had to be trained in the maze as we hadn't scared in there before and I had to pull the drop box and that scared me, but I didn't have much of a choice, so I did it! And then I had to go through the maze. Multiple times. While at first I recoiled at every jumpscare, I was eventually over it and had a blast. Ironically, the room that had scared me the most ended up being the most fun to take guests through (my role was to follow groups through the maze and I called myself "The Chaperone*"). It was also great to interact with the Urgent Scare regulars as well as our crew - they were all really cool. And yes, I do plan on being back next year. Most days I still think about Haunt and all the possibilities for next year. I love my Haunt Fam! *Interestingly enough, "The Chaperone" is also the name of an episode of Spongebob, which if you'll recall, was one of the movies that played in the Action Theatre before its demise.

  27. My original intent was to share my Robb Alvey story from 2005 at Tomb Raider but since it involves another fan sites admin and would go against TOS I don't wish to share it. Let's just say it wasn't good Instead I want to detail just working in general in 2005 the Tomb Raider ride. This was my first season at the park. I feel it was such an honor to work this attraction while it was still operating at its peak performance in terms of themeing before Cedar Fair began it's de-theming the following season. Tomb Raider was the only attraction I ever worked (or more so known) where there was a audible and unprovoked applause/cheering at it's conclusion. This was well before the times of "Welcome back riders how was that ride". It was a nice feeling to be part of the only attraction that had that love that left guests wanting more. Made going to work worth all the work we put into it. Not a day goes by I miss those days and hearing those cheers as the house lights went back up. Of course it was always nice to get worried calls from Beast and WWC whenever the ride would Skew.

  28. Ahh So I use to be a Team Leader at Coney Potato Works. It was probably the best job I had, because of my returning associates I had each year. And then my area supervisors, and my supervisor Will (many will know). I worked there from 2011-2014. Back when we had the Coke marketplace, serving fresh fruit. We had some of the best fries in the park (sorry RPW), topped with bagged chili and cheese. Or our hand dipped corn dogs and cheese on a stick. Even our sign having “Curly Fries” on it, when nobody in the park even sold them [emoji2371] Each day was a different day there. You met so many guests... “my food is too hot”, “my ice cream is too cold”, we use to go over to Skyline and make us a big thing of chili cheese fries (they need to add to their menu) The associate ride nights were amazing, even with being able to ride Banshee before anyone else. I would always love to return to work here.
