  1. Soo kinda on topic, but going through Facebook memories, and I did a little edit to Diamondback. Who would knew that I picked out Orion’s future colors [emoji2371] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. According to my 11yo a bit of construction or Area 72 can be seen while riding Zephyr, I'm just taking her word for it because I can't do dethaw quickly enough to ride. And of all things she was most excited to see during Winterfest this weekend was.... a Skyhigh Coasters truck in our hotel parking lot

  3. Yes, there was a building labeled “Quonset building” and “prop building” on the blueprints, and you can see it on the virtual POV. I haven’t heard anything more specific about it, but I do know generally speaking the ride will be pretty heavily themed.

  5. I worked on something for the past few days that I thought would entertain you guys. I’m proposing a complete retheme and consolidation of Action Zone into Ocktoberfest. It would add a new plaza about where Timberwolf theatre stands now and would make a new Bat (renamed. Look below) que. This would make it so the hike isn’t as long and it starts where the cut in from the exit is. To fit the theme, I decided to rename and retheme a couple attractions. First, Invertigo got changed to Umkehrenflug, which roughly translates to Reverse Flight. Congo Falls got renamed Rhine River Rapids, Bat got switched to Black Forest Monster (very fitting for location) Drop Tower was changed to Alpendrop, and Coaster Connection was given a name change to Coaster Haus. I could also see some new theming added to the que of Banshee and more scenery on AE. I know this will probably never happen, but what do you guys think? I will add the logos and Google maps of what I’m thinking. I will put in the maps tomorrow. What changes would you make and would you think this would benefit the park? Just note that with professional logo making they will be a lot better than the trash I made

  6. Woddies always need maintenance and see some of the points, but I don't know how anyone can complain about any KI woddies. Go ride Hoosier Hurricane at IB. Raven at HW. Voyage about 5 years ago before they started major track work was very bad. Most Six flags woddies if they have not been RMC'd. I think we are very lucky to have the KI maintenance team working on Beast, Racer, MT, and WE. They take really good care of our woddies compared to other parks. I think we need to give them a lot of credit for taking such good care of them.

  7. It has long been said that the hill was removed to create the path to Flight of Fear. That path had been there for a while for maintenance, the reason the bunny hills were removed was to increase the height clearance due to the increase in pedestrian traffic. I'm not an expert in OSHA laws or anything, so I'm not sure if that was required by law/necessary or not. I do know that I, too, would like it back!

  8. Maybe add back the last camel back hill too? I read on a forum a long time ago that it wasn't actually necessary to remove it... Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  9. Among The Racer improvements I'd like to see would be returning to the original red, white and blue color scheme and getting LED chaser lights down the entire length. EDIT: Also red and blue neon lights around the station and queue.

  10. Imagine riding Orion in the 15 degree weather...I love roller coasters, but I wouldn't sacrifice myself to frostbite in able to ride it. Edit: Bad weather

  11. Rivertown already has some old western style buildings, but I would love to see more. Heck maybe paint and redo the outside of the Crypt building and make it look westerm.

  12. I remember seeing something about a “prop building” which the queue went through on the blueprints. I couldn’t find the original post. Does anyone remember this? Has anyone heard anything?

  13. I was always under the impression that the roughness is one of the appeals of wooden roller coasters. I love getting battered around by The Beast.

  15. It's almost like organ donation...lol. Nice to see some of it live on. I wonder if they've ever thought about auctioning off pieces of the ride. Is that a thing? It'd be cool to have a 2-3' section of Vortex down in the basement for memory's sake. I think I could out-bid scrap prices to make it worth their time. Anyone else?

  17. I’ve always felt it’d be cool to just theme it to haunted/spooky area and call it Haunted Hollow. However I’d also be excited expanding Oktoberfest into Action Zone. But the area definitely needs a retheme of some sort.

  18. I don't know if you know this but just in case, the Gravity Group which was formed from the ashes of CCI which itself was formed from the ashes of the Dinn Corporation is currently located in West Chester.

  21. Do you know if the removal was because of clearance or something else (if you know)?

  22. The forwards side’s hill was removed prior to the 1996 season. The hill on the backwards side was removed after the 1996 season. The modification was done in-house, so they had limited staff and time to work with, so they were removed at different times.

  23. The last drop that was removed on Racer is pictured here below. It seems there would have been enough clearance already there before FoF was built. Come to think of it, was the last drop still on Racer around the time X-Base (now Area 72) opened?

  24. I think a total retrack, a repaint to its original color scheme, the usage of BOTH que lines (if i remember correctly, they only used one side for both racers) and lift hill synk. tech would benefit Racer for a long time.

  26. I can usually take a pretty good beating and still enjoy a ride, but yeah for me personally Red Racer this year was horrible. Which is funny, cuz last year I considered Red to be the better of the two. Blue side this year was actually quite fun, even on wheel seats. (For me at least.)

  28. They should expand river town into The Vortex plot of land they could add some old western style buildings and have it be a highly themed area like knotts ghost town or cp frontier town

  29. I am not completely sure if I want the park to put restrooms there. It may just be me, but I don't know if i want bathrooms to be the first thing I see when walking into a newly themed area. A small restaurant or an Area 72 souvenir shop would be a better thing to put there in my opinion. A flat ride, if it could fit, would be even better.

  30. Yea... I guess so. I've ridden the 4 other Cedar Fair gigas and the Orion station just seems smaller. Maybe it's just the pictures and how BIG everything else around it is...

  33. Doesn't the "station" seem incredibly small? Is that all of it? Just the one "hangar" shape?

  34. Okay so watched the Wildgravitytravels video and took some screen shots. Things of note... They have taken a large hill and trees out along the right side of the entrance to area 72. Could we possibly see bathrooms here?! Honestly think this is a possibility. They have removed the concrete in front of FoF entrance. Not sure why. They have extended FoF que structure as seen in the blueprints. Here is an overhead google maps showing the cleared land and area of the extended que. I’m most curious about that cleared land space as it’s not on the blueprints and we have no indication what it might be. Things are coming along nicely! Here is wildgravitytravels video

  37. Red far turnaround needs same work that was done on blue last year. The racing is awful on this coaster because of the uneven fat turnarounds, the uneven lift hill speed and the uneven initial turnaround. It definitely needs The Racer 75 synchronized lift hill treatment.

  38. I would enclose the lift hill like Hulk. Then when you emerge for the first drop, you’re like “Holy hell we’re up high!” They could add some space-themed lighting in there and dramatic music, with the voice-over guy from FOF saying something like “follow our path across the cosmos”

  41. This is normal practice, they close in where they are doing extended work to stay warm and out of the elements. They’ve been doing this for years

  42. Work is done almost every offseason. I agree that it has been smooth the past few years. You have to take a middle seat, but if you do the ride is excellent.

  43. Blue Racer was running very well this season. In fact, I had my best ride ever on it on Haunt opening night- on a wheel seat.

  44. I have never found The Racer super rough. I always sit towards the front in the middle of a car and not on a wheel.

  45. I sure hope so, some times the rides I get on that ride are painfully unbearable.

  46. I like the idea of an RMC behind Orion either where SoB's large helix was and kinda running along the river. Or still using the river but kinda behind Orion but to the South. Then again it'd be amazing where Vortex is with the entrance near that batwing. I'll take an RMC anywhere please. An RMC, a Giga, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers, The Beast, Banshee, The Racers (Bring back Backwards please!!), and Flight of Fear is a world-class line-up. If we were to get a wing coaster or a Dive coaster, I would take out Face off or whatever its called now and Amazon Falls (Same deal!) and use that area and along the front/ north area.

  47. And then there will be people saying they should RMC the Banshee webcam lol
