  2. I second this. We all (myself included) should try to get a piece if possible.

  5. @Snowball Lower frequencies travel farther. That said sending these Bozos to the moon would go a long way to solving this problem.

  6. ^Its like poking a hornets nest. I feel an epic KDD response coming.

  7. Probably because it’s a weekend. But they also may need to make different considerations for the taller parts.

  8. It doesn't look like there has been much noticeable movement today.

  9. It's their map. It's not to scale. They'll make it fit.

  10. I would absolutely love to get a small piece of track from Vortex. I could have a piece of the first looping coaster i ever rode.

  11. Maybe after they are done filling Diamondback with sand, they will realize how badly it needs repainted!

  12. I really want a peice of Vortex. Can we all get together here and try to get the park to sell some peices?

  14. That's an awesome shot! I would love to be in a house where the back porch faces it and I'd be out there watching and/or filming it!

  15. Monster trucks are not my cup of tea either but kids are fascinated by them. The trucks they used up at CP while much louder than a stock F-150 we not louder than a motorcycle. In addition the noise complaints appeared to be only about late night and at CP Monster Jam shut down around 7 or so. Matthew, Monster Jam was less of a “show” and more of a “ride” like antique autos. Just a course with some obstacles to climb over. They don’t really need a lot of land. CP ran theirs entirely on the old Cedars plot, which is much smaller than The Vortex plot. I will be very surprised if they don’t put Monster Jam there for a season.

  16. I will need to sleep on this but won’t dismiss it outright. Never had a strong brand preference. I take Snake at his word. Old fashioned is intriguing but kind of labor intensive.

  17. I'm in favor of replacing the Coke Freestyle Stand with an old fashioned Pepsi stand.

  19. With inflation, that’s $10,600,000 today! Still a deal.

  20. Just a quick question about the map this year, how do you guys think Orion will fit on it? Theres really not enough space for it to fit up there, especially with the partners box. Could we be looking at a bigger map this year? Total redesign?

  21. Scale down The Racers lift hill, then they can exaggerate Orion.

  22. Maybe they'll put the partners on the back like they've done in past years (I'm currently thinking about the 2005 map, how all the "official (such-and-such product) of Paramount's Kings Island" was on the back side of the paper in columns).

  23. I wonder if we will notice a difference in how Diamondback sounds. Also, I hope this is a gateway to bringing back late night closes in the future, but a big part of me doubts that.

  25. With these people if you give an inch they will take a mile. Articles make it sound like the residents discovered you can add sand to b&m's while Cedar Fair had no idea.

  27. They could tear down the SOB queue, put in a flat or dark ride in that area and maybe build a station to a coaster on the other side of those turnarounds.

  28. Wouldn’t the windows in Rivertown be rattling if it was that bad… hopefully them filling the spine of Diamondback will resolve most of the issues though.

  29. Does anyone else find their claim that Diamondback “makes the windows rattle” a bit ridiculous? It can’t possibly be that loud at that distance. I’m glad KI is listening to them though, I think taking action to reduce noise is a good step in improving their relations with the surrounding neighborhoods.

  30. A bathroom themed ride would be pretty sweet. You could even keep the name Vortex. The ride ends with you being flushed down a giant toilet.

  32. What do people expect when they buy a house near an amusement park? It's not like they moved in and Kings Island sprung up overnight.

  33. Monster Trucks would be great, they were awesome at CP. Plenty of activities for kids and adults plus the rides on them. Just cause you don't like something doesn't mean that it's "trashy"

  34. A stunt demolition derby would be pretty cool to watch. Especially in the mid-summer months.

  35. Please, please, please do not put the Monster Trucks at Kings Island. I don't care that they're temporary, they are way too trashy for a classy theme park like Kings Island. People coming to the park for the first time deserve to see Kings Island as Kings Island, not as some dumpy Monster Truck place.

  36. I guess some people can tune it out, not me. 18 years ago my wife tried to convince me I would get used to the sound of babies crying and it wouldn't bother me. She. Was. Wrong. I will say airplanes are much quieter than they were in the 70's and earlier. Back then you didn't need to live anywhere near an airport and if you were in your backyard all conversation had to end until it passed.
