So several parks opening up. Sounds like good news. Everyone be safe, wear a mask and wash your hands. I'm teaching this to my son. He's very excited to ride the Diamondback soon! He is working really hard to make better word choices, please bare with him. I'm trying to help him, but he also needs to learn some life lessons. Not everyone is always nice, but to those people I do thank you for helping me and his mom realize. NOTE: This is the father. He's shown no interest in posting today. He just wants to ride Diamondback!9 points

I'm a fan of El Toro Ryan's work and he just came out with a pretty good video. Worth the watch if you like his content and want to see footage of old prototype suspended coasters5 points

So same as the announcement comments Comments were not too good for Maverick at CP or Mystic Timbers prior to park opening either.... I think comments will change once people actually ride it.5 points

Don't worry about them, you're doing fine. Alot of your excitement comes through when you're talking about rides. That's what we're mostly here for anyway.5 points

I'm sorry friend, Orion will be up there, but there's only one GOAT as far as I'm concerned4 points

The general public from an amusement park standpoint are those who visit the park, but just to visit and don't work there or for the industry. From an enthusiast standpoint, they are basically the same thing, but not an enthusiast.4 points

I am convinced the "rattle"is just the anti rollbacks bouncing while the ride is in motion.4 points

KIC users worried about how KI is going to pull off things: KIC users after seeing @Waltny video and @KIghostguy photo:4 points

I have been messaging the user that people are not sure of their intentions. There is nothing trollish about his intentions for posting on KIC. The admin are going to welcome him on KIC and ask that fellow members do the same.4 points

Orion appears to be full throttle from the first drop to the end of the ride and I cannot wait to get out there to ride it at some point, hopefully soon. I've been on Millennium Force, Intimidator 305, and Fury 325 and they did not disappoint. Orion looks to be no different based on the POV.3 points

I am a bit surprised @BeeastFarmer is not railing on you for being an “expert on coaster rattling”. We need more cross threading around here. So.... why are they rollbacks bouncing now when they didn’t before? Is this a maintenance or design issue? @DonHelbig obviously agrees, maybe he can answer.3 points

I don’t think Banshee or DB has that bad of a rattle, they are not in the same class as Kumba, Rugaroo, Kraken, or Dominator.3 points

Its a new coaster so I think it'll naturally be smoother than Banshee and Diamdondback by default.3 points

Looks rough... Yes, I know it’s the camera in the mount getting thrown about on a light train; but I didn’t get much out of it that the GCI rendering did not already show save for the on ride camera.3 points

I can’t tell, but if looks like the on ride-photo is at the head chopper under the first drop. This thing absolutely hauls!!!3 points

Ok, but with increased hospitalizations it’s clear this virus is spreading more and more. If people don’t start changing the way they’re behaving then this state will turn into Florida soon enough with 9,000 new daily cases.3 points

It’s bright, but it’s really not that bright. Being a blue LED light, it’s visible wavelengths are not the best at transmitting a distance(short and intense, I guess like Orion). It is better suited up close and has more of a “bloom” or “atmospheric” look. If it was white, yellow, orange or something like that with the same lumens/candlepower it would be a different story. As an aside, I wouldn’t be too surprised if that strip can be programmed RGB with different color outputs(think those bulbs on the Effie tower during winterfest). While it’s possible, I don’t think it’s likely(a picture from an unauthorized source makes the bulb housing look clear so it could have individual semiconductors of color or just the blue). Hopefully, it’s a question that is entertained or we eventually find out by what we see. While I’m thinking of it, I’m sure that the blue housing is transmitting light and adding to that diffused look.3 points

That was my choice for protection as well. I feel bad for you that you can't wear it at work, way more comfortable in my opinion, but mine manages to fog my glasses... There's just no win when you're blind and trying to not kill people.3 points

An assist goes to @collin.klopfstein for the IG message of the picture someone took from their house last night. He asked if I was going to go take pictures tomorrow... I was already gone at that point! I was loosely planning on doing a drive by later, but that sure accelerated my movements.3 points

Got my reservation for 11:30 on the 4th. Will be meeting my sister, brother-in-law and nieces there. Will be interesting to see how well it works and also how long the lines for Orion get.3 points

When we can actually go to the park at night, Area 72 is going to looks SO GOOD with Orion’s lights reflecting over the entire area. Also, the park installed a ton of the red warning lights on a lot of the building as theming that will also make the area looks great!3 points

Well I've only ridden Millenium, and it's been a while, so I'm not sure which one I'd rank higher. Maybe Millenium because the view is better. I also only got a front row ride on Orion, and I heard the back was more intense (like it always is) but the front gives you a great view of the drop. KI nailed it though, and you should ride it this season!3 points

No this not a troll, but a person with a learning disability. I was messaging him about his posts and his father is aware. He’s doing the best he can to post correctly on here. Cut him some slack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

I've actually been thinking about this a lot lately... So, it seems like dark rides require extra money and time from maintenance staff to keep running well. By "well," I mean consistently throughout the year and in the same state it was when it opened. It seems like most seasonal parks want to put in the initial investment without needing to continually invest, or at least not invest on the scale needed to run well. At parks like Six Flags over Georgia, people at the top of the chain of command have decided to make their dark rides a priority. The Interpreter once pointed to Melinda Ashcroft as the reason why Monster Mansion runs as well as it does. I'd speculate that Holiday World does the same thing with Gobbler Getaway. When Cedar Fair was doing the whole Amusement Dark thing, it seemed like they were making a point to put in dark rides that they were willing to care for if people took to them. Admittedly, that was by having zero animatronics, but still, it was something. But it seems like both Wonder Mountain's Guardian and Voyage to the Iron Reef landed without making much of a splash, so we didn't see any more dark rides from that initiative. The last time I rode WMG, the screens were out of focus, and the guns were poorly calibrated. VttIR is already being rethemed less than a decade later. I'm curious to see how the Justice League dark rides hold up at Six Flags. They seem like they had a not-insubstantial budget put into them, and it seems like they're going to need some bucks to keep running well. They almost feel like SIX's version of Tomb Raider: The Ride, which is to say that they pursued a big concept that looks awesome at first but isn't sustainable for a seasonal park. I'd surely think they'd have kept that in mind when designing it, but... Would I love to see more parks get dark rides? Absolutely. Dark rides are often my favorite thing about a park, and especially when they're original IPs. But it seems like a lot of major parks aren't committed to them in the long term, and I'd rather have a few good rides than a bunch of rides operating half as well as they could.2 points
