  1. I would really like to see the park focus on their flats collection. I think looking to what Canada's Wonderland (IMO the best flats collection in the chain) does where they mix thrilling and family flats throughout the park. Some of my ideas: Rivertown: A Screamin Swing would fit great in that area of the park. There are no big thrilling flats on that half of the park. Coney: Add a Tilt a Whirl and a Top Scan. Oktoberfest: Bring back the Keggers. Also put a Musik Express where the ladder game is. Action Zone: This is an area that could use some family flats. Maybe

  2. Orion is the only coaster that can match Fury dispatch times. Easy restraints and NO bins. Leviathan bins are a nightmare. Everyone at Wonderland, which is my home park, always carries enough for a weekend in the country. The crew tries hard, but with the bins its never super fast. I was very impressed with the Orion ops on my visit, should bode well for eventual crowded day ops, whenever that finally happens again.

  3. The Coney Sky Ride idea seems way more feasible now that Vortex is gone. Unlikely, but it would fit better! I would love to see a top spin return to the park, but overall I would like to see two thrilling flats and two or three mild flats. I def think they should try and fit something into the Oktoberfest area (like spinning keggers) and bring some more attention there.

  4. Intamin should have done the 2 across T-Rex single rail style instead of the Raptor style. Could have beaten RMC to the punch and offered a unique experience.

  5. Totally agree, we have 3 tall rides with great views. Plus, they have terrible capacity. Lets get a high trill ride with decant capacity instead.

  6. It may be me, but I always think that saying something is wrong with a ride when there actually isn't is a bad idea. Saying that there's danger ahead, beware of The Beast lurking in the woods, don't go in the shed etc. is fine. Just a fine line. Even during normal years and even on slow nights, groups that are well spaced at the beginning of the house WILL catch up to each other. If I'm visiting a haunt and leading my group, I'll slow down if I see the group ahead of me, just because I don't want to be jammed up in a conga line. Plus, it's illegal for minors to work past 11:

  7. And this is how this whole thread devolves. They went to Holiday World. Test results are delayed 7-10 days as we know. So blame Holiday World. Of course, we have NO IDEA where else this family was in the past 2 weeks. But...blame HW. C'mon people.

  9. He and his partners have every right to sell the rights to operate the park if they decide it is in their best interest. That sale is up to the state Fair Board to approve per contract. I would imagine they would be extra cautious after the pandemic, until parks have recovered financially which will be years. But that is all for speculation in the KK main thread.

  10. I saw that in the midway. But then saw the guests just go right back to pulling off their mask once security left. And in the line cue wearing of the masks and maintaining distance was terrible. Ultimately, if it’s important to you (it is to me, you probably just shouldn’t go... I know I’ve stopped). Likewise, I’m still waiting for a day when KI actually starts to remove guests for policy violations. For example, I’m really glad they moved the smoking areas, because previous seasons I rarely ever seen employees confront those smoking outside of the smoking area, and never seen a guest r

  11. This to me just seems horribly patchwork. They should just require them everywhere, except in relax zones or water rides. how can they expect their associates to enforce a mandate where you don't have to wear one in line, but do once you enter the station and on the ride? I'd expect to see this changed before too long.

  12. These concepts look cool but if it didn't say "Intamin" you'd think they were designs from Premier, Mack, and RMC. I think they're trying to play catch up. Yes they built Pantheon, Hagrid, and the Jurassic World coaster but I think they're trying to find their footing in a changing industry. I think they want to be THE single rail manufacturer since RMC isn't doing much with their single rail concepts. The Skyrocket knockoff doesn't suprise me either since most companies have developed coasters that are compact and easy to clone. The ultra splash is just a power splash knockoff imo. The giga s

  13. Like I said, it would be a temporary fix. The GCI and RMC theory would make a lot of sense too. I don't know how expensive Skyrockets are. Also raptors are pretty cheap. @bengalsguy23 the bigger parks are confusing. Does CF just go for conversions and low cost coasters? Carowinds could get a GCI, convert their Hurler or even their Vortex. Canada's Wonderland could also get a GCI or go with something like a Sky Rocket II. KI I think would get flats and focus on the water park I think, maybe a GG for Planet Snoopy but that's a stretch. Cedar Point could maybe get a GCI, and work on their b

  14. There going to have to save money some how. They probably also don’t want to cut too many projects as they’ll need the new rides to help rebound. If I was Cedar Fair I would cancel the big b&ms for the next couple years. Rides like s&s freespins and smaller wooden coasters for smaller parks like Dorney park and Valleyfair. (These types of projects were already planned before the pandemic). I think the big sacrifice is going to be on the big parks. If you can the 30 million in half each year off the cost of a new b&m and go with an rmc conversation or ground up. These ride

  15. I agree that I don't see a Ferris wheel fitting in at King Island. As stated we have an observation platform with the Eiffel Tower, WindSeeker for a mild attraction with great views, and Drop Tower for a thrill ride that offers high views. To spread out the skyline more, and given that they are family level attractions, if we did get a ferris wheel the main location I could picture for it would be as a new addition to Planet Snoopy. Place it back near the picnic grove. As far as flats I do really hope we get some new ones. As others stated I think this is the perfect time as well since th

  16. I think three giant flat rides is enough for the time being. it would be nice to have more of the traditional sized flats such as an Endeavor, Air Race, Swing Around, spinning barrels, Trabant, etc.

  18. I’d like to see flatrides added to Oktoberfest, Rivertown or A72. I’d love to see more high thrill flat rides such as an S&S screamin swing or a Mondial Top Scan.

  19. Yeah why do you guys do it all at once instead of row by row like every other ride? Not complaining, just curious.

  20. Appreciate that, I might not work there anymore, but I think the most we did when I was there was 45 trains. We have it better off though since we let everyone off at the same time, and not row by row.

  21. With an uncertain economy for Cedar Fair and KI just having gotten an expensive coaster it's likely the odds of getting one or more flat rides within the next several years is high. What would you guys like to see?

  24. The thread could be about the differences this year...such as the limited hours, the sanitizing, the social distancing...etc... For example, when I was there, I found shopping different...it varied by each location. At the first place I bought something, the associate both handled my merchandise and bagged it. At the second place, the associate handled my merchandise but had me bag my own. At the third place, the associate had me place everything on the counter with the barcodes facing up...never touching my merchandise...and then I bagged it. I thought it was odd tha

  28. If Halloween Haunt is not possible this year, I'd like to see the fall festival/Oktoberfest concept. They could do a Bavarian tasting card line up, have food trucks and use some of the Grande Carnivale concepts that they already have. I hope things go well for the company.

  29. I went to KK yesterday for.their opening day. Here's what I posted on another forum. I was there yesterday. Ops were painfully slow with 1 train only (except Kentucky Flyer). Storm Chaser they mandated exiting 1 row at a time and they only sat 4-5 rows in a train. I counted just over 4 minutes from the time the train pulled in until the next dispatch. Storm Chaser went down at about 3 and didn't come back up. Drink stations - 1 employee will fill your cup. Guests are not allowed at the dispensing machines. 33. I’ve seen KI enforce the mask policy. Today at The Racer, a guest was prevented from boarding because he had put on an ineffective mask. The area pulled him aside and basically told him to put on a mask or else. The area was amazingly professional and prompt, and should be praised for dealing with the situation with grace. Employees patrol the lines and if two people are close to each other, they ask if they’re members of the same party. If not, the staff member forces them to social distance. They are doing far more than what some members of this site believe.
