  1. I complained about this last Sunday, I do not agree with letting everyone off Orion bat the same time. I had to stop at the exit cause of the bottle neck, sorry that's not social distancing. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  2. Last year, the worst spot on The Beast was at the end of the turnaround before the first lift hill...this year the horrible jolt is just gone from that spot...well done team!

  3. THIS is the kind of food these parks should have. Original food that you can’t get elsewhere

  4. They seem to be sacrificing their own rules and health practices for capacity sake. When everyone scrambles off at once there is almost no way to stay six feet away from another guest. This is made very clear when all the other rides in the park abide by the rules but the newest latest and greatest chooses to ignore them. Uncomfortable.

  6. New chicken sandwich at the Chicken Shack! Now the question remains: is it the best chicken sandwich available at the park?

  7. That's a good point about build up coasters as well. I do think it would look great in that spot too. They could possibly even fit the coaster and a couple small flats like the teacups and tilt-a-whirl and get the best of both then.

  8. Or maybe just read the signs that are already there? Both ride signs are right above their respective entrances.

  9. You didn't have to do it anyway. They will ask you the 4 questions at the park

  10. I haven’t seen this mentioned yet but KI did a wonderful job with retracking Racer and Beast this past offseason. On The Racer, the retracked the red side going from the split to the beginning of the final set of airtime hills. On The Beast, the retracked from the valley to the brake run.

  11. But if you have the mask then social distancing is less imperative.

  13. Sandwich looks good. Looks like they stole someone from Popeyes to make this for them. Just need the spicy sauce on it.

  15. LOL. WHAT exactly were those things supposed to be? Every use of them so far is just weird and out of place.

  16. These projects tend to take awhile. However, the interesting thing is, they’re still digging and grading the site. It isn’t being dealt in the same manner KD dealt with Volcano Site or DP with Stinger.

  17. I rode a non wheel seat (currently only rows 5 and 14) last week, and I've put Beast much higher in my favorites since I've done that. Beast has now returned to my #4 Kings Island spot, and I've been marathoning it recently. So long as I sit in non wheel seats, and brace a little bit for the start of the helix, the ride is great fun! Now I do wish GCI would come in or RMC with their topper track and do a redo of it while keeping the essence of it the same. I feel that they could do a great job not going too crazy, but also providing a much better ride experience. Or heck, maybe just get the park to reprofile some stuff themselves to take the trims out.

  18. I absolutely agree. But a small investment would go a long way in my opinion.

  19. My family and I drove past the park today and it was great to see everything up and running again! Specifically, I saw Orion go as well as The Bat on the lift hill (also, DT was on its way up the tower); everything looked so vibrant! Also, it looks like you get massive ejector air on Orion's return hill (before the helix, I think?).

  20. Not trusting the KIC information on our main pages is an automatic one week ban from the forums. Just kidding!!

  21. I really enjoyed the Red Racer this year after the off season track work. It was the only thing I rode during my visit other than Orion. I had just enough time to kill before getting in line at my assigned time, remembered reading about the Red Racer getting track work for this year, and walked right onto the front seat so I got a good look at things. The ride was noticeably smoother. I didn’t know The Beast got track work as well. Dang! I thought I experienced all the 2020 coaster improvements. You‘ve tempted me to the park again lol. Hopefully we will get some open days at the park this fall.

  24. Keep in mind I don't work for the park anymore, but I would have to say capacity. Tbh, it's hit or miss if you get social distancing on other rides because the ride attendants can't make you move once you're past the exit, so people sometimes stop. Doing it this way takes away about 10-15 seconds that would otherwise be spent dismissing row by row and it means the crew can probably dispatch another 4-5 trains per hour.

  25. Orion is the only coaster that can match Fury dispatch times. Easy restraints and NO bins. Leviathan bins are a nightmare. Everyone at Wonderland, which is my home park, always carries enough for a weekend in the country. The crew tries hard, but with the bins its never super fast. I was very impressed with the Orion ops on my visit, should bode well for eventual crowded day ops, whenever that finally happens again.

  29. Ya, it's not very shocking that families are taking the better safe than sorry responsible route. Wages are down or non existent and no one really knows how long this thing is gonna last. I know if I had kids I wouldn't be risking their health. Mistakes that can result in death are generally avoided and can derail families.

  32. Got on it for the first time last Friday. In my opinion, Orion is nothing special. The first drop is awesome, pretty much the same as every other first drop on a giga. The high banked hill is interesting, but not much force to speak of. Not very much air time either. The trim breaks on the last big air time hill pretty much kills any air time you could have gotten for the rest of the ride. I was left very unimpressed. Vs the other giga coasters I've been on ( Millennium, Fury, Leviathan, & I305) Orion is definitely at the bottom with I305. Doesn't really compare to the others. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk

  33. Also note on August calendar park is closed Wednesdays and Thursdays for the first two weeks of August and starting August 17 closed Monday through Friday for the remainder of August - not many summer operating days left.

  34. I hope the helicopter and the accident are not connected. I hope the park contacts the police.

  35. We were talking about this in another thread. Sounds like someone jumped a fence at Soak City to escape an accident. They locked down the park.

  36. And no reservations could end up deterring people from going that have a long drive to park and risk it being at "capacity" when they arrive or people now concerned that the crowd levels will not be maintained as well as they were....wouldn't that suck for the park if attendance goes down now...

  37. Reservations aren't keeping them from hitting capacity. It's masks. They aren't going anywhere. You'll be fine.

  38. Curious if the no reservations is effective immediately or if it will be effective in August. We have reservations for next Monday and Tuesday, and it would suck to get there for our reservations and then find they've hit capacity, although I guess they have a way of figuring out how many tickets were already pre-sold. On the other hand, we're going next week, which is the final week of closing at 7 p.m., so maybe people will sit it out until they can stay a bit later the next week.

  39. It will be interesting to see if they still open parking tolls at 10:15 and allow rides on Orion from 10:30 - 11:00.

  40. It's never been a requirement to enter the park. They ask you as you enter.

  46. The park needs more total family rides. Ones that EVERYONE can ride. Right now this category includes the train, helicopters, antique cars, the very Boo Blasters and the Carrousel. Plus the Eiffel Tower attraction. Gone are the Turnpike, Skyway, Monorail, Rub-a-Dub, the Zodiac and 2nd Antique car ride. All were nice slow rides that everyone could ride ( unless fear of heights on a couple) There is a reason that Disney is so well attended. It’s because everyone can do a high number of the attractions together regardless of their age, ride tolerance, etc. Regional theme parks really miss out on a lot of potential customers by concentrating on thrill rides and kiddy rides. It was such a shame that Enchamted Voage was removed and also a shame that Phantom Theatre was removed. Both were top class dark rides. Boo Blasters is a 2D embarrassment.
