  1. I would have to assume that The Bat is not being removed anytime soon. It is not old compared to its counterparts and as much as the station is an eye-sore, people seem to still ride the thing like crazy. I doubt it is super expensive to maintain either. So we should be good to keep it for a while longer unless they have bigger and better things planned.

  2. The standard retail price would have been $17.95 for a physical copy. However, that deal fell through, so I’m not sure what it will end up being. I will say that there are several parties that are currently interested.

  3. Yes, I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading the inside story on how Diamondback came to be!

  5. Definitely Banshee. Think of some eerie organ music in the station!

  6. And speaking of which, Pantheon looks like a great coaster, but I don't think that amount of land where Vortex sat is enough room in that area. You're more likely able to put in a ground up rmc the size of Twisted Timbers in that plot of land. I still believe that's what we'll get there in a couple years. Kings Island will have to have a bounce back year next year though.

  8. So, I am finally off next weekend as I am taking a brief vacation. I'm feeling a bit optimistic about the virus enough to make a trip to KI to get a FLP and blitz through the coasters and bigger rides, with much attention on Orion as I've not ridden it yet. Only going for a few hours in the evening to get a DB, Banshee or Beast night ride fix as well.

  10. Stay away from the stuff, junior. Plus, you should also work on that sentence structure.

  11. If they are getting rid of the SOB station there is opportunity to redesign the plaza going to The Bat. If they open that area up with a couple of flats, it could help The Bat's ridership.

  12. Kings Island better not remove The Bat. It would be a pretty bad look to remove three coasters back-to-back-to-back. I feel like removing that many coasters would deter long-time fans.

  13. I agree. If people want to be scared, there are plenty of scare attractions. They are chasing off customers if people cannot walk around the park without being attacked.

  14. Personally I wish all of our coasters had IMAscore but if I'd have to pick it would be Banshee with The Beast in close second

  18. My guess: Frozen Chicken Tenders. They probably did more fresh food in 1972 and didn't need as much food storage. At some point, they decided they needed a walk in freezer. Trends and needs change over time. I doubt the removal of the pathway was taken lightly. Someone has to make the hard decisions. What has been removed and repaved? Paramount and Cedar Fair have both removed a ton of asphalt from the park and replaced it with concrete (nice stained concrete with the Nickelodeon project), or pavers. Sure, more modern materials have been used but you're not going to find the same building materials that you did in 1972.

  19. Low capacity coasters haven't done well at KI in the past. See Ghoster Coaster and Firehawk. Backlot does okay now, but the lines for that thing were atrocious when it first opened. While KI and Kings Dominion are sister parks, Kings Island was the leader of the Paramount Parks when it comes to annual attendance and is a leader in the Cedar Fair world. I say keep the low capacity Mouses and 4D Free Spin types away from KI and save up for full scale coaster models. A low cost/capacity coaster might be more of a possibility now because of COVID though...

  20. That would actually be awesome. I think a water coaster would be a nice fit. Either dry park style or water park style.

  21. Maybe the larger waterlines are need for an aqua coaster of dizzying heights?

  22. I only consider Cedar Fair operations since we have Platinum Passes.

  23. We'd be more likely to get a roundup than we would one of these, simple for capacity issues.

  24. Might want to try Cincinnati Book Publishing as well if you haven't. They've published several local history books (Good Samaritan Hospital, the old Terrace Plaza Hotel, etc.) so they might be interested, especially given that they're local.

  25. I agree with the Herschend and Busch level of themeing and landscaping. One of the things that amazed me about BGW is that in a lot of cases you can't really see other areas of the park until you are in them. I also like the amount of varied merchandise like blacksmith shops, candle shops, and wood crafts.

  26. I understand they also limit the number of Fast Lane passes sold each day. Yesterday, Diamondback's regular line queue time often exceeded 90 minutes (https://queue-times.com/). I waited at most 20 minutes with Fast Lane. 20 minutes doesn't seem too bad in comparison to 90 minutes.

  27. I don't think you are going to like the answer to this question....lol

  28. The ride attendants count how many Fast Lane riders pass through a ride each hour. My guess is that when a ride has significant wait time, KI regulates the number of Fast Lane riders per hour. If Fast Lane riders were not throttled, then wait times for regular riders could become unreasonable.

  30. Well a lot of people have been wanting a water coaster, so what better ride to replace Congo Falls than a water coaster and that is obviously what the new water line is for

  31. I wish. I've been isolating as much as possible because I have people on my life I have to take care of and going out to places like KI, even with PPE, isn't worth it to me personally.

  39. I think the idea of putting a custom wild mouse inside the Crypt structure is great. They could incorporate an elevator lift instead of a lift hill to save space. They could also reuse old theming and and add some more around the ride itself and be a runaway mine ride!

  40. With Vortex's land being the biggest elephant in the room for KI, I think the Crypt building will continue to be put on the back burner as it isn't really losing the park any money at this point and functions as a haunt attraction. Sometime this decade I expect it to be touched but I wouldn't hold my breath with Covid-19 pushing any potential projects back.
