  1. It's a clone or Railblazer, but Silverwood needed this. I'm am so glad this is coming. Thoughts?

  2. Hopefully I can shed some light on how wait times are figured out. I'm not 100% sure if this is what the app uses but oftentimes throughout the day we will get a call from the rides office asking what our wait time is, then we give them a guesstimate. Also, how many Fast Lane each ride lets in is just based on the person at separator. There's no hard and fast rule for that sort of thing. However the park does limit how many Fast Lane tickets they give out each day.

  4. I think that is the old frozen yogurt spot (and before that, Starbucks). I hope it ends up sticking around; those bread choices sound delicious!

  6. Our wonderful @malemupdated the forum software last night. One of the key features of the update was an update to the design of the forum. Key elements they worked on for this uopdate was the following: A brighter UI with more saturation & contrast and simpler overall color scheme Improved typography Better, more consistent, spacing around and between elements, especially on mobile Better logical grouping of sections of each page Reducing underutilized links/buttons on the page and finding alternative ways of making them available Improving how post states are displayed Modernizing and enhancing the underlying code that powers the default theme We hope you enjoy the new updates!

  7. Due to this year's pandemic, I am wondering if CF plans on adding much in the way of rides throughout the chain? Many of these parks did not get to really cash in on their recent investments that would have helped their attendance. This also begs the question about 2021 in general with the SF chain or even independent parks. I see someone posted a cool video of a coaster being added to Silverwood, which is what caused me to think about this subject. Side note: I did end up taking a trip to KI, reluctantly. It was as miserable experience as could be expected under the current conditions. This was in no way their fault. However, Orion lived up to its billing. I like it as well as Millennium Force, possibly better.

  8. Seems somewhat indirectly related to French Quarter Confections which opened in a new building at Cedar Point this season.

  9. I just learned that RMC is located just under 20 minutes from Silverwood which is crazy. I thought it was much farther away.

  10. The chain has cash to get through the rest of the year. After December they have to borrow to start paying the bills. I don’t see them going deeper in debt until they have positive cash flow again.

  11. Yeah, CF usually announces stuff in August when season passes for next season go on sale. However, we could get something like a restauarant or something very small that it could get announced during the off season.

  12. Agreed. We would also probably have some idea what was coming in 2021 by now if we were getting something, right?

  13. I don't think we'll be seeing much in terms of attractions in the chain next year due to Covid and with several parks staying shut the entire season. I believe the 2021 season in some ways will be basically a due over for what this season was supposed to be. I believe 2022 will be when we'll start seeing the investments pick up.

  14. Seems like it’s permanent. Happy to see Kings Island to continue to improve its food offerings.

  16. Following up on @JCJTheHurricane’s post, I can attest that the app isn’t always accurate but we ride ops try to approximate the best we can. I too wonder how the app works for wait times. I have lately been timing my waits and noting how long the line is, while also including factors like cleaning time. I have been fortunate to experience very few ride downtimes while noting such lines, so hopefully the notes I take will provide a fairly accurate reference of wait time under current protocols. My personal testament to the app not always being accurate comes from last October, when on crowded Haunt Saturdays, the app would say a 60- or 90-minute wait for Vortex, yet I clocked no more than 45 minutes in line. I kept my fellow ride ops updated on how long I waited in line (and I rode multiple times) so when the aforementioned rides office call would come, they could reply with the most accurate wait time estimate.

  17. Okay. Here's how it will go: First you'll enter through the usual outdoor entrance. Now, here's where things might get a little different than the original ride. Instead of going straight into the room where the organist would usually be playing, you'll go into what is listed on the picture below as "Extended que line". Before getting close to the usual entrance to the building, you'll enter the "Pre-Show" building. Here, you'll be greeted by the owner of the theater. He might say something like this: "Hey! What are you people doing here! You're trespassing on my property! What's that!? How could you be trespassing on a property that hasn't been in operation for years you say? Well, if that's what you think, then why don't you go find out for yourself! Come on! Don't be shy! It's only, HhHhHh, THE PHANTOM THEATER! BUT, WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T, GO INTO THE THEATER BASEMENT! It's completely off limits! Other than that, the rest of the theater is all yours to explore, EVEN THE BOILER ROOM! Just follow the maestro's instructions. He'll tell you the rest. NOW! LET THE TOUR OF THE PHANTOM THEATER, BEGIN!" After that, you'll leave the "Pre-Show" room and then go to the room where you'd be greeted by the the maestro playing the organ just like you would in the original ride that ran from 1992 to 2002. And just like the original attraction, what happened after meeting the maestro/ organist is still the same as usual.

  18. I think the money on the table is to find a way to stay open daily through Labor Day. Cedar Point has been (2020) excluded, very busy in the last two weeks of August, even mid week. The passholders renewal/new passes push helps with that, especially in the last 3 years with "buy now, get the rest of this year included" perks. People trying to get in one more summer trip or family activity, plus some schools in the surrounding areas starting later. With maybe 12-8 hours or similar, I think they'd do well. Could add a theme to make it more interesting.

  19. I think Soak City is underutilized during its respective off season. The park could host different events during the months that its not open. They could do the November idea like I mentioned earlier but they could also open themselves up to stuff in early spring before the park opens. The fact that its more detached from the park allows for them to be more independent and flexible when it comes to potentially hosting events.

  20. The stats are what they. Names don’t matter. If the coaster is great, then awesome. If it’s not, then it’s not. I never understood this whole back and forth argument. Who cares.

  22. We are not the judge and jury. We would like to see justice served, but unless charges are filed and the guilty parties (there are others who have been alleged to commit acts) face justice, we can only remain safe by being united. That's why this thread was a good idea and the information is key to protecting children from harm.

  25. Okay, I said this in the poll for "How Much Longer For Boo Blasters On Boo Hill?". Here it is: "Okay, here's my SUMMARIZED description of Boo Blasters on Boo Hill: It's a Scooby Doo ride, but with no Scooby Doo characters from the TV show, or any mentioning of Scooby Doo. Right now, the ride, to me, just looks outdated. It's an eyesore. Whenever I'm on the left side of the parking lot, I look over at Woodstock Express and see this wacky cartoon castle behind it. Every time I see it that, it looks weird and out of place. Another thing is that the black lighting used in the attraction makes me think of those small low-budget dark rides usually found at the small road side amusement parks. Also, the blasters aren't always very reliable. One time my friend told me that there was a glitch where if you were to point and shoot your "Boo Blaster" at the ceiling, it would give you a lot of points. Sometimes that usually isn't a good thing for an interactive dark ride. So, do I think Boo Blasters will be leaving soon? No. But do I think it's okay that Boo Blasters might not be leaving soon? No. I think Kings Island has kept Boo Blasters is because it has a high attendance. What I think Kings Island isn't doing is looking at WHY the ride has had the attendance it's been getting. I think one the reasons for the ride's high attendance is because it's an indoor attraction and it has air conditioning. So, I think Kings Island should close Boo Blasters and maybe replace it with a Phantom Theater 2.0, or maybe a new interactive attraction that's more reliable."

  26. Maybe put one out in the parking lot which reads: ”Former location of our parking lot with no pot holes...circa 1974”

  28. Really? When did 5,282 feet of track (Diamondback) and 5,318 feet of track (Behemoth) become MUCH longer than 5,321 (Orion)?

  29. I would love to see it make a return and the 50th would be a great celebration for it. It opened for the 20th anniversary and closed with the 30th anniversary, so the rides dates do focus on anniversary years as well. I think that the location of the old Action Theater would be a perfect spot for it. Be an old theater being haunted somewhat, but think it would be a nice fit for Coney Mall plus being stuck back in The Racer turnaround they could do up a more decrepit looking building and lawn area leading up to it without impacting the overall visual appeal of the rest of Coney Mall with its rundown appearance either, plus the slightly secluded nature would lend to the abandoned feel. This would still leave Boo Blasters open to be converted into a Peanuts themed interactive dark ride. This would be best as it would give a great new addition to Planet Snoopy and give KI a chance to take back it's title and would give the park two dark rides as well. We could maintain having an interactive ride in Planet Snoopy, but make Phantom Theatre a more classic style ride like the original was where you watch animatronics and show scenes. Unfortunately I'm not sure how likely this is. I would be ecstatic to see the announcement but honestly I'm not holding my breath.
