  1. We've come a long way since the Paramount years and under Cedar Fair's ownership the park has flourished bringing back a lot of lost character and charm all a while providing fun and thrills for everyone. With that being said, there's still some things that should be addressed before the decade ends. Here are some of mine.: Do something with the Crypt building- either put something new in it or tear it down (I kind of want Action Theater to return as well.) Boo Blasters- I'm hoping this will be updated before 2025 but I think guests would love to see something new take the 2010 ride's place The powerlines in Soak City- I don't know how much it would cost to address the huge powerlines overhead but their presence limits the possibilities of expansion The train- this is kind of personal for me but Paramount removed the figures and never bothered to replace them. Give families something to look at instead of telling jokes about the fences Action Zone/ Oktoberfest- A lot of people talk about this one. There's nothing wrong with either section but I think updating the themes would go a long way. We were way better off now than when we were under Paramount so please don't think I'm complaining, but I think the things I listed above should be looked at.

  2. They need to add a Wendy's in 3 locations inside the park so you and I can get our Baconator fix at any time with the meal plan.

  3. Here is a surprisingly smooth and clear point-of-view video of Son of Beast in its original form that was just posted to YouTube within the last 24 hours. I have never seen such a good POV of this ride on the internet until now. Enjoy!

  4. I share in someone else’s predict that that train “show” being brought back/revamped will be the nostalgic expenditure for the 50th season.

  5. COVID probably canceled the funeral, thus no tombstone.

  6. Ehhh... Oktoberfest's theme is fine (I really like the German theme), it's just it really need to be more present. The only part of Oktoberfest you get a German feel from is the Festhaus and the square outside it. When you walk the path going from AZ to CM, there is not a single hint of German theme. As for AZ, there really IS no theme. The rides that do have themes, such as Congo Falls and Banshee, really in my opinion don't fit in the same area of the park. They are very opposite.

  7. You could hear the train cresting the lift from the parking tolls.

  8. The chain noise was amazing. It filled all of Action Zone. Even if you hated the ride, it was spectacular to look at. Also during the second helix, looking up at the wall of wood on your left was a site to see.

  9. As Robbie said, it was an awesome first drop. The helixs were very rough. The loop was awesome. The most noteible thing about SOB was the the chain lift. You think an RMC chain lift is loud..

  10. I think the saying covid is here to stay is that covid will likely become a virus that we learn to live with like the flu. That doesn't mean we'll be taking these precautions like wearing masks, social distancing, and banning mass gatherings forever, but that just means that the virus will still be around. It will depend on vaccines and treatments.

  11. I think as vaccines and treatments start to roll out, we'll see a gradual return to normal. I do think we are looking at a rough 2020/2021 seasons for parks. However I think 2022 and beyond should be big years for not just theme parks, but all the entertainment/attractions industry. Mainly due to people eager for a return to normailty. I like to compare it to the "Roaring 20's" which took place after the Flu Pandemic and WWI. I do agree that it's going to take a few years to recover.

  12. Soak City and Action Zone specifically are in desperate need of more shade.

  13. I would update the train to have something going on in the empty fields. I would plant some trees or other greenery around the coasters similar to what The Beast has. Update and expand the Oktoberfest area.

  14. 1. Parking lot 2. Boo Blasters/Crypt Building/Action Theatre building all renovated or removed 3. New coaster in The Vortex plot 4. Action Zone re-theme with at least one new ride 5. Soak City re-theme with at least one new slide complex or a water coaster That would be my top 5.

  17. This is by far the best video of Son of Beast out there. Thanks so much for sharing this. The video says 2002 but I'm thinking this was more likely 2001 for a couple reasons. 1. The trim brake has been removed prior to the rose bowl and 2. King Cobra is still standing. I know removal of KC lasted into the start of the 2002 season but I believe it had been partially removed by opening day. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  18. I was young, so it didn't beat me up that bad. I loved it. It was definitely rough but I loved how out of control it felt and the structure itself was beyond intimidating. The first drop and the loop were definite highlights. The loud clink of the lift hill added to the atmosphere a lot too. That said, I understand why it had to go.

  20. I’d like the park to improve on the high thrill flat ride lineup, definitely the biggest hole imo. I’d also like to see the park add more foliage around the park. Action Zone and the area by blacklot just aren’t pleasant areas to be around due to the lack of foliage imo.

  21. Jezz 2030 sound so far away and even talking about it makes me feel old. - At least fix the parking lot and add some greenery and make it more than that just blacktop. Its the last thing we see when leaving. Make a good impression. - Water park make over. - Kids area make over and expansion. - Fill in the area Vortex left. - Clean up Action Zone and rebrand it.

  22. **religiously smashes Racer button** Racer ignited the coaster craze that eventually led to The Beast.

  23. This is interesting, especially since they can retrofit this to existing towers.

  24. I'd love to ride me one of these. Kind of a Top Spin meets tower. The programable part is intriguing. I wonder how they plan on that since most 4D tech involves either free spinning or the 4 rail design of early 4D coasters like X2.

  25. So today Kings Dominion announced Big Wave Bay will be leaving. What do we think they will get in place for 2020?

  28. The stupid enthusiast in me wants it to be a water coaster, but I agree with @BoddaH1994 in that's it's likely a larger and improved wave pool. [EDIT] It could also be one of those Proslide Walls, since they recently removed Tornado.

  29. I bet it is rethemed and/or improved, not removed. Just my guess.

  30. Crypt building and Action Theater serve an important purpose for Haunt, which is a major attendance boost for KI, and I don’t think either one is too much of a distraction or eyesore from the midway..
