  1. Second dose completed 1/5. This is not political. The more people that get vaccinated the quicker parks can go back to being fun again.

  2. I am eager to be vaccinated. Just have to wait until I am able to get one. I am a 36 year old and do not work in the healthcare field. I might be waiting a while. My sister in law already was vaccinated, my sister who is a RN is going to be vaccinated this week. Hopefully supply increases, and people trust the vaccine. I know of several people that will not get the vaccine because they do not trust it.

  8. There's been a ton of Kings Island advertisements in years past that feature Dominator from KD and Silver Bullet from Knott's Berry Farm. They're not advertising the specific coaster per se rather they're advertising the park

  9. A lot of people see a long line for a ride and turn away in search of a smaller line. Would it be a good investment to add some more Flight of Fear/ Busch Garden styled ques? Enclosed ques offer shielding from the sun, AC, and theming adds a little more excitement and anticipation while waiting to get on a ride. I'm not saying add one to every ride, but que buildings should be something to definitely look into. Thoughts?

  10. I personally wouldn’t want to see anything like this. Original storylines are better than IP’s in my opinion, and putting in a Monster Jam rollercoaster would likely take away from the charm in Coney Mall and Rivertown.

  11. If we're talking B&M: Look at the land Vortex occupies. I'm not an expert but I think putting a 200ft dive next to a 200ft hyper would look odd. I think something in the range of 150-170ft would work in that space. If the park would get a "dive" I argue it wouldn't be a large one that we've become accustomed to in North America but rather something like a traditional inversion heavy coaster with a holding break and a 90° drop. Going back to the wing model, while I think having one would be fun, it would be illogical for the park to get one. There are four wing coasters within a five hour radius of the area so it wouldn't make sense for us to get one. The best move would be for Cedar Fair to send one to Kings Dominion who would benefit from one way more than us. A flyer is plausible but I think Cedar Point would want one and have it break several records. They are arguably the most maintenance heavy B&Ms so I think KI would actively try to avoid that. Surf Coaster is another plausibility but the prototype coaster hasn't been built yet. Then there's the floorless. Yes I refer back to this a lot and I understand the arguments against it. The main reason I keep bringing it up is because of another coaster we got in 2014- Banshee. Before Banshee when was the last inverted coaster built in North America? The answer is 2006 when Worlds of Fun debuted Patriot. Now when was the last floorless built in North America? The answer is 2005 with Hydra the Revenge at Dorney Park. So I do believe its possible KI could add one. Will they do it? I have no clue, however I wouldn't count out the possibility. In terms of other manufacturers... The main one aside from B&M is of course Mack. I have no problem with getting a Mack, no problem at all. Something like Helix would be great. I'm just more concerned with the price tag. Macks are just as expensive as B&M but their track is manufactured in Germany. At least with B&M Cedar Fair can spend more on the actual ride as opposed to shipping since their track comes from literally the next county. Intamin is a no go given their past with CF. I'm sure they may reconsider in the future but that's a long shot for a company that has caused the chain significant issues. The same can be said for RMC. The manufacturer is currently retracking parts of Lightening Rod at Dollywood and unfortunately Steel Vengeance and Twisted Timbers did not start of well during their opening seasons. I'm not sure how comfortable Cedar Fair would be working with them at the moment. S&S can finally be another manufacturer we can throw in there since Kings Dominion is getting their 4d freespin. I have heard mixed reviews about Steel Curtain at Kennywood so I don't know if Cedar Fair would go to them so build a similar coaster.

  12. I'd like to start that this post is in no way any sort of comparison to current corperate positions. Just my memory of the early 2000s with Jeff and Maureen. The relationship was a fantastic bond of Corporate from the park and its Fans. You can look back at older youtube videos of old tours and events and even the spoof videos for IJST, Son of Beast, and my all time favorite Tomb Raider The Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide! Jeff and Maureen were quite the power house together and down to earth people that just loved their job. Just listening to Maureen at a winter tour make fun of Jeff for losing his "flipping keys" on Tomb Raider is the true embodiment of their work relationship. They were fun, full of charism, and loved us!

  13. First statement of the year from Knotts... Extending their passes into 2022 for every day they are closed in 2021. I wonder if they'll open at all this year. Awful.

  14. I probably have quiiite a while to wait. I'm 20 with no conditions that make me more vulnerable and do not work in healthcare. I can't lie, I'm a little jealous seeing you guys get your vaccines!

  15. How was the park/KIC relationship when Jeff was there? I remember him and Maureen having enthusiasts out at construction tours of IJST.

  16. I am getting my first dose today. I am not excited about it and will not post the typical card and bicep pose. I wish the Johnson and Johnson vaccine had been rolled out sooner. I'd be much more excited about it.

  18. Tbh I thought doing every other row on Diamondback was ridiculous especially since Orion was doing staggered seating and Diamondback is literally staggered seating. I hope they can at least load the trains as full as they can this year except they likely won't put two different parties together on Banshee and Orion or 2 single riders next to each other. I still think on Banshee and Orion they should at least allow a party of 4 to sit in the same row.

  19. I can speak to this. When we reopened, all coasters were loading every other row. Rides like Soarin' and Flight of Passage were leaving empty seats between parties. Boat rides were one group per boat. I'll be honest, I'm not sure what the Omnimovers like Spaceship Earth were doing. We have now adjusted and the coasters *with high headrests* are loading every single row. This includes Slinky Dog Dash, Rock'n Roller Coaster, and us over here at Everest. 7 Dwarves Mine Train does not have a high seat back so last I heard they are loading every other row still. Flight of Passage is no longer leaving empty seats between parties. (The reason we can do it with coasters that have high head rests between rows is because it counts as a barrier between guests. Similar to the plexiglass between you and a cashier)

  20. That would be like New England getting a second boomerang annoying. At least send it to a more deserving park like Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair or someone

  21. Isn't there usually close to that for full park hours? Maybe they're all there to get training time in so hours can be extended later

  22. WOW! You would think with current financials and labor shortages, they would be pulling a Six Flags, and only having a few operators. There are ELEVEN operators on this ride, and those are just the ones I can see!

  23. Do you think they are going sanitize every trip? I'm guessing it'll be more like the Six Flags where they wipe down the entire train every 30 or 60 minutes.

  25. From an operational point how easy/similar are the operations of the other manufacturers? B&M is popular from a business standpoint because they are so streamlined safe and the standardized controls are the same whether its Banshee, rougaru etc which makes training and operating super easy barely an inconvenience as now employees can operate any b&M to cover short staffing and not have to rely on ride specific control training per say. I can see why they are b&m Heavy because on an operations view its quite logical and the GP don't mind make as long as its enjoyable and fun. Variety is the spice of life so hopefully they do still build unique and vary manufacturers still. and not turn into carbon copies of each other

  26. Probably not since they do have roller coasters.
