I want to get a feel for interest in KIC members wanting to have an event at Kings Island in 2021. In 2019 I had actually signed a contract and had an event booked for 2020. Once Covid hit, all tours and walk backs were cancelled that we had hoped to be able to do at the event so we canceled for we did not feel there would be enough interest. If there is enough interest for 2021 I would like to try and get an event together this year. We would really need an attendance of 100 to make it work. Any ERT on Orion or other coaster has an added cost associated with the event. So make sure you think through the poll questions. Let me know if you have any questions!4 points

Mine was in a thread @The Interpreter had started. In his response to me, I thought he did not like my post. Looking back at it, he was just being Terpy.3 points

The Racer is the obvious choice at KI. With all the attention to the area formerly known as Coney Mall and Area 72, it sticks out like a sore thumb. And the peeling paint and rotten wood is shameful on a coaster this important. After that, repaint Diamondback.3 points

Now we are getting into the heart of Winter, lets have another Photo Contest with a Twist! "Kings Island Without A Ride Photo Contest" Post your best Kings Island photo inside the park that does not have a ride in the picture or background (including the Eiffel Tower.) Rules: Only 1 picture per post. (If there is more than one, the whole post will be removed.) Any photo with a ride in the pic will be disqualified from winning and a note will be added as such by admin. A max of 4 submissions. (Any additional submissions will be removed.) All photos must be your own. (No pictures from websites or any other sources.) All photos must abide by the Terms of Service and all park rules (for example, any pictures taken as a result of trespassing or any that are taken on rides that prohibit photography/loose articles will not be acceptable and will be removed and possible loss of posting privileges.) To make it more fair, please do not post pictures from areas that only employees can get too. (Tour locations from Coasterstock are fine.) Some unique and creative edits on pictures are fine. Double posting will be excused in this thread. Only Likes will be counted, not any other emotion. The most important rule: HAVE FUN! The contest will be judged by the members. So if you love a submission, vote for it with a like. You can vote on as many as you want. This will run until February 28th. An example is this photo of the Beast 40th anniversary photo booth. No actual ride is in the photo, and taken in the park. The winner will get to order a free KIC shirt as their prize along with bragging rights! Good luck!2 points

We had a guest speaker planned before and would be something I would include in this event as well.2 points

I deleted my original account, but considering it was from May 2005 and I was only 12 years old... I'm not sure that I want to know what it was From this account, it's unsurprisingly a post about Adventure Express2 points

I have multiple other favorites for various reasons, but Orion has already proven itself as a favorite. I started working in maintenance as it was being built and I got to put sound equipment on it, so basically I helped build Orion! I had wished for a B&M giga to come to KI for some time, so Orion was literally a wish come true. When I felt sad over Vortex's demo, I could look over at Orion and see what was new, and watching its test cycles was a reminder to me (and later a lot of us) that things were going to be all right. Orion became so special to me even before it opened. As for other favorites, I have a soft spot for WindSeeker (the ride I worked along with Vortex and my most-ridden active ride), Diamondback (got me over fears of height and speed), and Invertigo (another ride I think is overhated) among others.1 point

Would we have a guest speaker or two..ie Don or Chad? I would love that. Maybe a Q&A along with that? I would definitely be interested in a KIC event.1 point

The Paramount Parks folks had very little involvement with us. Except when they tried to create their own competing forum. ...which we crushed.1 point

Seeing all the work that's been going into The Racer, I think a repaint should be on the list too.1 point

I vote Flight of Fear... that is all.1 point

Diamondback has looked really bad recently with its incredibly faded paint job. It dominates Rivertown to such a degree that repainting it would liven up the whole area to an extent. Cedar Fair recently repainted Intimidator at Carowinds which is one year younger than Diamondback, so that gives me hope a Diamondback repaint is coming soon.1 point
