  1. I think we have beat the mask debate to a pulp. The purpose of this thread was to ask if the park was going to require masks. The answer seems to be yes right now. I am going to close this thread.

  2. Thanks to a several-minute-long station stop, my highest score on Boo so far is 6240, on August 23, 2020. Part of this may have to do with the fact that part of my job is maintaining and testing the blasters...

  3. a surgeon does heart surgery with a simple mask for over 10 hrs. There is really no reason a person cannot wear a mask. It is mental imo.

  4. Last photo submission: Taken while walking through Dinosaurs Alive in 2017. It's interesting that there aren't a ton of places in the park that aren't secluded like this any more. The only ones I can think of are The Bat's exit and some parts of White Water Canyon's walkway.

  5. A thousand times yes. Vaccinated people can still carry and shed the virus. The importance of vaccines are to build herd immunity, which takes time. The vaccine is not a magic pill, despite what our politicians tell us. It's one piece of the puzzle.

  7. Hey everyone! Longtime lurker, recent new member here with some questions about Phantom Theater, one of my most favorite rides in the world. I have some connections with Phantom Theater that I can't discuss yet, but I will definitely be posting here when I can. I've dedicated a lot of time to researching and scouring the net for photos and videos, and I've reached out to several media companies that either did videos or articles on the ride back in the day in hopes of obtaining copies of the uncut footage and high quality photos. With all that said, I had some questions that hopefully someone on here can answer. How many of the figures still exist? I know they appeared wrapped in sheets the last time they were out and haven't appeared publicly since. Does anyone have photos of the ride when it was operating? Particularly of the characters. I've seen most of what's publicly available online. I'm especially interested in clear shots of the characters and any behind the scenes photos. Can anyone explain the Peppers Ghost scene? Which characters were in it and what were they doing? I never actually got to ride Phantom Theater and that scene doesn't show up very well in videos. From what I can see, I've gathered that Houdelini is in the top left, Hilda is on the building, Garbonzo in his cannon, and Lionel is toward the bottom. I'm assuming Maestro is down there too? And of course the audience members. I think that's all my questions for now, but I'm sure I'll have more eventually haha.

  8. Hey Im new here but I just want to put my 2 cents in, I personally think that masks should only be required for employees

  9. Thanks for bumping the thread @VortexBFForever; it's interesting to see how peoples' predictions turned out! And on the last quote, Adventure Express very well may be the last Arrow (coaster) standing at the park; only time will tell...

  10. For new attraction, there is more than just new coasters. I expect to see more family rides, flat rides, and/or interactive attractions/events in the next few years. I think once most of the covid procedures are lifted, something along the lines of Forbidden Frontier at CP would be an excellent addition.

  11. Nice! As of late (2019 and some years prior), I just treat it as a normal dark ride and don't shoot anything. Sure, the ride could be better, but it's nice in it's own way. Though I know most of the decorations are generic replacement of Scooby-themed ones, I do like that (what appears to be) an iPod is still there after all these years (in the bookshelf room; after the "Get away from me!" guy).

  14. Its Canada's premier park located near the country's most populated city so success is guaranteed for them. I think CWL's main move should be removing rides that are old and painful. I never hear good reviews about Time Warp and Flight Deck is the only other SLC in the chain next to Thunderhawk at Michigan's Adventure. An invert would be a perfect replacement. Reliability is another thing. If CF could have RMC build for them in Canada I don't know that they would, considering the rumored rough start company has had with them back in 2018. Wildbeast and Minebuster opened with the park but I don't see a lot of nostalgia from park fans for either ride, but maybe I'm wrong. I honestly believe that if CF kept feeding them B&Ms, park goers wouldn't bat an eye. Getting reliable people eaters would justify the removal of older rides.

  15. I do question why one would have to wear a mask after getting a vaccine. If things like that do not change then people are going to hesitate or not get a vaccine at all.

  18. I think in the beginning they ran the park at MOA. uts a great park I think it was better as Snoopy. I think they lose Tourists to Park at MOA but Valley fair does good with locals.

  19. And from what I understand, Michigan`s Adventure attendance has remained relatively consistent without significant (and costly) capital investment. Why spend money to put in a big new ride, when the park is already making money. Doing so would produce lower profit margins. Also, Michigan`s Adventure is not in a major metro area like Kings Island, Carowinds, or Canada`s Wonderland. The closest large city is Grand Rapids, and the park is about an hour drive away from the city, depending on where in the city you are coming from. The Grand Rapids MSA (metropolitan statistical area) had a population of 1,059,000 as of 2017. The Cincinnati MSA by comparison had 2,114,000 as of the 2010 census. Cedar Fair has been investing some in MiA, just not large scale capital projects. And on the most recent conference calls, Cedar Fair has stated they are going to try and spread out the cadence of large capital projects at their parks for new rides, and try and fill in with more special events, like Grand Carnivale, to drive urgency and visits. Remember, the point is for every dollar invested to make the most money with that dollar. If Cedar Fair only needs to invest $0.10 into Michigan`s Adventure for Camp Snoopy to make $1, why spend $1 if it is still only going to make them $1? That would not be a good return on investment in that case. Yes, I know I oversimplified the situation. I don`t think Cedar Fair is looking to sell off any parks anytime soon.

  20. Speaking of Cedar Fair parks in general, I wonder how much business Valleyfair loses to the Mall of America if any
