  1. As much as I enjoy and appreciate Orion, Diamondback, and Banshee, I do not want a B&M in Vortex's space. I personally hope for Vortex's successor to feature a handful of inversions with a lower height requirement (48") as I know from my experience working at Vortex that a lot of young thrill-seekers set foot inside Kings Island. Dare I say that it MUST be as photogenic as Vortex was, in its own way. Bonus points if it breaks a record! Right now, a Mack multi-launch has my vote. Granted, I have not yet ridden one, but Copperhead Strike looks fun (and photogenic) and I hope to visit Carowinds this year to find that out for myself!

  2. Not that I disagree, but rollercoasters as a historical landmark can be quite taboo outside of the community that enjoys them. Not even the GP know or understand what an ACE landmark is. They see a plaque and think, Oh this must be important. Now ACE landmarks are not voted upon politically, they are the enthusiasts deeming an attraction a landmark or not. Much like structures around the world, there has to come a time when their use cannot be of service anymore by a number of reasons. Take a look at Vegas which has seen a HUGE change in it's skyline in the past 50 years. Truly iconic resorts have been blown up to make way for something new. Is it disappointing to see the past go in such a tragic way? Of course. I would hate to see Racer leave in any form. But I have to be open to the idea that sometimes things do change and when they do it is mostly for the better.

  3. I don't think the GP would care that much. I don't think I have heard much or any about there being 3 suspended coasters right by each other (Banshee, Invertigo, and The Bat). I think a Mack launch would serve as a good in between launch coaster between BLSC and FOF. It'd be more intimidating that BLSC, but a little less powerful launch than FOF. However, would probably be better than FOF for the GP at least. It would likely have a height requirement of 52" like Copperhead so it would be in between BLSC and FOF in height requirements. It would also be one of those things where when a kid hits 52", they can get introduced to inversions with Banshee and this Mack launch since we no longer have a coaster with inversions with a 48" height requirement.

  4. I would be so happy with an Intamin Blitz coaster like Maverick at Kings Island to replace Vortex, but I will only believe that Cedar Fair is willing to work with Intamin again when I see it.

  5. Kings Island (In Your Backyard!) - YouTube Looks like these guys still manage to have fun during the off season. As for me, ever since last year I have became pretty sickly(my brain is having a hard time communicating with my body). Its nothing to serious, but I've been home bound since before covid had started. Its very hard to get exercise. I get lethargic and dizzy really easily and some times even black out. This lack of exercise has lead to stress and back pain. So to remedy this( I know this sounds silly, but it works) I cast Kings Island povs on my tv, grab a wooden rod, and twist and turn with the rides as exercise. It has really helped my back, especially rides like Shake Rattle and Roll, Adventure Express, Mystic Timbers, and The Beast! This way I don't get sick and my back can still tense and stretch. It's also a good way to kill the off season blues and an excuse to get some me time.

  6. I like the second idea better too as it leaves some room to add another flat at least to Coney Mall to fill out that end of the path. I'd prefer a coaster to go more to Coney Mall than Rivertown though. Think something like Hangtime would be great and can still leave some room for an addition in Rivertown too as they are more compact. My only hesitance for it would be building into the woods would thin trees out more and hate to see more removed and it would probably open up the woods around The Beast too much. Don't want it to lose it's secluded feeling. I'd also keep the space of Action Theatre for a new darkride too.

  7. I still think Mack or RMC are the way to go because one thing I think also needs to be in play, even if this an inversion centered coaster, is that it should keep Vortex's 48" height requirement. I think Vortex more or less worked as a stepping stone coaster for people who were too short for Banshee and Diamondback.

  8. I'd love to see B&M build a brand new sit down model for a park. They just did for Universal, a clone of Hulk for their upcoming park in China. Other than that, however, that model has been dead ever since the Floorless came out. I prefer the traditional Kumba/Hulk/Wildfire/Dragon Khan style.

  9. GG probably just did the engineering study on this, as the park has stated the work is being done in-house. GCI uses their own crews.

  10. I'm also guessing they likely also chose GG for the fact they're significantly closer than the GCI team (pandemic stuffs and all).

  11. Please no. The ride is a coaster icon and I would hate to see it converted

  14. I must have combined my memories of my 2001 and 2003 visits. I know when I mentioned the SOB rides and fog it was 2001.

  15. Not many people go to a park that has a floorless and says, " I got to ride that floorless". B&M has only built a couple decent ones, the rest are garbage IMO.
