There is always something going on with the Webcam and always a "reason" it's offline. If you are not caught up on the craziness of the Webcam fiasco I recommend searching old topics and posts on its questionable history of being online and offline at all the right/wrong moments. I'm not even sure if the posts are still there so many were deleted. To be honest, it would make a great Netflix mystery Documentary.4 points

If we were to get a ferris wheel, a 50-footer in Planet Snoopy would be all that we would need in my opinion. The only benefit to a big wheel is an LED light package. As @FUN&ONLY!mentioned, we already have a great viewing ride with Eiffel Tower, WS, and DT. Use the money that would go for purchasing a big wheel into LED light packages for existing rides.3 points

I don't want a big wheel for the reasons @IndyGuy4KI said. The Eiffel Tower is our centerpiece and looks great at night. I'd rather see Racer feature color changing lights underneath the support structure2 points

Right now the park has the webcams off. We really don't know why at this point. If I hear anything official I will be sure to share.2 points

It was confirmed at Winter Chill out that Cedar Point turns theirs to things like dirt and gravel when they are testing things in the park and they do not want people to see it. King's Island probably turns them off for the same reason.2 points

Hopefully the webcams return online soon, but Kings Island said they would return soon almost a year ago at this point.2 points

I would rather Kings Island bring back an old more beloved ride like Der Spinning Keggars, Phantom Theater, or Enchanted Voyage in some form or another. I know Kings Island used to have a Ferris Wheel for a few years, but I don’t think it is missed too badly by longtime fans of the park. Also, in my opinion, Ferris Wheels are not really worth riding that often with their terrible capacity and lackluster ride experience. If you want good views, the Eiffel Tower has you covered with much better views than any Ferris Wheel could provide at Kings Island.2 points

So every other Cedar Fair park has their web cams up (even now ) and active. Will KI ever put theirs back on line? Why are they really off?1 point

So did Herschend back out at the last moment? Or the half right portion is that there is a deal in place and nobody backed out, they just haven`t announced it yet?1 point

Right now AT is mostly storage. One side is storage for a few departments and the other side houses Urgent Scare. I don’t really see them doing anything with that area for the next 10 years, there’s other spots to build and the building is being used. The most I could see is a new haunt maze, Urgent Scare is quite old at this point, and with coronavirus, I could see it not making a return. I couldn’t see them turning it into a theater again unless it’s torn down and rebuilt with new, more modern technology. The equipment is quite old and probably not worth starting up again as a “new” attraction, and that doesn’t take into account that motion theaters are largely a thing of the past by now. If they do anything new with the area, I’d like to see them tear it down and use the land to build a new attraction, maybe some flats.1 point

Yep. Starts mid-May instead of June from way back in 2019. Also starts 2 hours earlier. This year: "Weekends May 14-16 and May 21-23, Daily May 28 – June 13" "The festivities begin at 2 p.m. so don’t miss a minute of finger-lickin’, foot stompin’ fun. " Source: https://www.cedarpoint.com/events/frontier-festival 2019: "The festival will run daily from 4 to 10 p.m. June 7 through 30 in Cedar Point’s Frontier Town section" Source: https://www.toledoblade.com/business/development/2019/02/22/frontier-festival-event-cedar-point-old-west-sandusky/stories/201902221051 point

An idea I had for Action Theater was maybe turn it into some sort of 3D Planetarium or something to go along with the Orion/Area 72 theme. Idk how likely that is though.1 point

It's entirely reasonable to not live stream initial ride testing because showing guests that things don't go perfectly (train makes it all the way back to the station) the first time, doesn't do anyone any favors. Even if enthusiasts wouldn't mind. What doesn't make sense is KI taking theirs down (intentionally or through system issues), but neither getting them back online by now or just openly stating that they do not have live webcams at this time, and they'll let us know in the future if that changes. As I see it, KI has no live webcams until they announce otherwise; they're not just down, they're gone.1 point

In that case, it is up to you as to whether you wish to trust a surgeon or a scientist.... again Im saying ITS ALL UP TO YOU (collective you) and I have no alliance or personal like towards either.1 point

That depends on whether you are talking about gold for the owner or gold for the enthusiasts.1 point

Maybe, first we have to get a Rivertown back before you could have a festival. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Here's a layout concept I came up with for a Rivertown festival. Kinda similar to the Banshee Brew Fest, but it doesn't go all the way around BLSC. Instead, it starts between Diamondback and Backlot and has sections that end both by The Vortex area and the train station. They then open up the area next to the former Crypt building for some children's activities and have some interactive frontier style activities/games along the midway running along the arcade and down by The Beast. There is also a live music stage by the former entrance to the crypt that would house a bluegrass band:1 point

I would be so happy with an Intamin Blitz coaster like Maverick at Kings Island to replace Vortex, but I will only believe that Cedar Fair is willing to work with Intamin again when I see it.1 point

I really am not sure we need another B&M right now. I think it is time to bring in Gerstlauer or Mack for that plot of land.1 point

I prefer Gemini to Rougarou too. I got a ton of rides on it during the summer of 2018 where as I only rode Rougarou once. I think Gemini's age is what causes many people to question its life span. (I wouldn't mind if they removed Rougarou either)1 point
-
What is wrong with Gemini? I find it to be a very fun and enjoyable ride. Personally, I would rather they remove Rougaru before Gemini. Even with the new floorless trains, that is a ride that I can skip on any visit to Cedar Point.1 point

I agree it really was put in a bad location in the park when it was still open, many people didn't even know it was there. They really should have built it in the front of the park, possibly in Action Zone, which would fit the theming perfectly.1 point
-
Paramount put the Action Theater in a bad location. You wouldn't even know it existed if you weren't a regular park goer. When it was open you'd have to walk to the back corner of the park to ride it. Its for this reason why I don't believe its returned yet. If it was in a location that saw heavy foot traffic I could see the need to bring it back; but it's not.1 point

I've always thought the area directly across from Dodgems would be a good spot for a big wheel. Might have to ditch the former Antique Treats food stand on the corner there, but it would fit in well and make a statement for that entrance to Coney.1 point
