  1. I would rather Kings Island bring back an old more beloved ride like Der Spinning Keggars, Phantom Theater, or Enchanted Voyage in some form or another. I know Kings Island used to have a Ferris Wheel for a few years, but I don’t think it is missed too badly by longtime fans of the park. Also, in my opinion, Ferris Wheels are not really worth riding that often with their terrible capacity and lackluster ride experience. If you want good views, the Eiffel Tower has you covered with much better views than any Ferris Wheel could provide at Kings Island.

  2. Despite large thrill rides bringing significantly higher numbers of riders in, I believe gentle additions like the antique cars are vital to parks like King's Island as they appeal to both the youngest and oldest audiences. This being said, one of the crowning gems in this category is the Ferris Wheel. King's Island has been without this classic flat ride for 30 years now. I believe the addition of a giant Ferris Wheel would not only beautify the park's skyline, but also return a warm sentiment of yesteryear that's been missing for so long. The real question is which district Cedar Fair would install such a thing. Thoughts?

  3. You can disagree all you want. Here is a press release from Kroger. All of the contactless forms of payment, Samsung, Apple, Google, work on the same technology. Traditionally once the work is in place to support one you can support all of them and most retailers do. It is possible to prevent a single companies contactless payment system and some retailers do.

  4. A ferris wheel would be great for the park. Think about a big family group. The parents, the teens and older children want to ride the thrill rides. But maybe the grandparents want to enjoy a slower paced ride by themselves or perhaps spend time with the younger grandchildren who aren't big enough yet for the rides everyone else is interested in. Or maybe it's not a grandparent but someone who for one reason or another can't handle the tall, fast, spinning rides and need something that's a gentler pace. Or maybe they want the view, but also to sit down, relax and enjoy it without the vertigo that comes from walking on those grated floors.

  5. The main reason places like Kroger don't take Apple Pay is because they rely on tracking their customers purchases so they can offer them targeted promotions. Kings Island doesn't rely on that. I think going cashless probably won't be a big deal so long they clearly mention that at the entrance of the park.

  6. I'm surprised Cedar Fair takes apple pay when places like kroger, Walmart, and Sam club does not. I use Samsung pay which is accepted everywhere I have tried. Was at kroger the other day and the clerk said we don't do apple pay. I put my phone against the terminal and it completed the transaction. The clerk was shocked.

  7. Nor do I. In fact, at KI I don’t even bring my card and count on Apple Pay. When I was a kid my parents would give me $10 in cash for food each day (that was enough at the time) so I wonder how easily they’ll adapt to the card options for kids. Side note: if they don’t use this opportunity to link a declining balance feature to their SP cards then they need to be replaced.

  8. I don't keep any cash on hand anyways.

  9. I think part of the reason why I want the Phantom Virus to be in the parks despite him being a one-off Scooby monster is because he's nostalgia to many cryptic millennial-Gen Z'ers, and perhaps younger.

  10. Okay hear me out, just place that spinning coaster, in that plot of land next to racer/AE/FOF and you can keep an icon at it's spot and give A72 another unique attraction that could deliver family thrills like what I was talking about. I think either there or like @FUN&ONLY! was talking about, placing it in the PS area. Preferably taking out the petting zoo which only makes my hikes from SC and KI just a little bit unbearable during the heat of Summer. Also, for the markers, not every marker means something new is coming. I have seen plenty of markers for just electrical work get chalked up to a new coaster, a new flat and the like. Sometimes it is just electrical or plumbing renovations which parks like KI need. More than likely they were doing electrical back behind KM and had some updates to work upon.

  11. This is a very nice mock-up, but I don’t see Zephyr being moved. I don’t see a coaster going there at all. A MACK Rides Spinning Coaster like this would be nice, though, and it would be a great family ride. They could build one in reply any area of the park and theme it to that area. Something like this in Planet Snoopy would be great addition if Kings Island wants to go for the best kids area in the world again.

  12. I don't want a big wheel for the reasons @IndyGuy4KI said. The Eiffel Tower is our centerpiece and looks great at night. I'd rather see Racer feature color changing lights underneath the support structure

  13. If we were to get a ferris wheel, a 50-footer in Planet Snoopy would be all that we would need in my opinion. The only benefit to a big wheel is an LED light package. As @FUN&ONLY!mentioned, we already have a great viewing ride with Eiffel Tower, WS, and DT. Use the money that would go for purchasing a big wheel into LED light packages for existing rides.

  14. Tough to find much to criticize, but I would say: 1. They need to do something to get the Crypt and Action Theatre buildings working again for the full season, not just Haunt. A new dark ride and/or experience. Especially with the park open for Winterfest, they are prime indoor locations going mostly unused. 2. Festhaus is underdeveloped. Should offer better dining options than standard fare and Chinese IMO.

  15. I feel like the Eiffel Tower does the same thing as a Ferris wheel. They both both provide elevated views of a park without the fear of large drops of extreme speed.

  16. Count me in. I don’t understand the “we don’t need one” argument comes from. It’s pretty much a standard across most parks. I’d love to see one in Oktoberfest.
