  1. Saw this on a random instagram page that has nothing to do with theme parks or Cincinnati.

  2. I agree that the open space actually look refreshing. I think if the tall fence wasn’t there it would feel less like something is missing. That’s the part I feel needs to go if this is going to be open space for a while.

  3. I mean, when you've seen your little girl perform a faceplant getting off the Kite Eating Tree (sorry, no pics...sadly), anything is a potential hazard...lol.

  4. Nice! I had the cheese fries from Juke Box yesterday and they were great! They cheese was gooey and delicious and the fries were too. I made the trek to Area 72 to enjoy my lunch and it was great to sit there and watch Orion.

  5. Honestly I think KI should bring this food truck event back or just bring in a bunch of food trucks and set them around the Eiffel Tower like they do here: Also, I did see the park did bring a food truck in today. It was right across from International Showplace. However, imo what I think they should do for at least the first few weeks of the season in the future is bring in multiple food trucks to help with food lines.

  6. While many other food places were unfortunately closed today, it was nice seeing Coney BBQ operate with both sides open again. I haven’t seen it operate like that since 2019.

  8. I meant the tall fence. If there was a shorter one it would look nice, but I agree. People are idiots these days!

  10. After seeing the site without Vortex on it I was surprised to see how non-flat that plot is. Unless they want to do some serious land leveling, I doubt that a midway would go there. I think it would have to be something like a coaster or log flume. The land doesn't need to be flat for something like that.

  11. The fence is likely there because...you know some people especially teens these days...would think that is an open place to run around and throw their prizes around lol.

  12. Ok, so after getting a better view of the site from The Beast's queue and riding The Beast, I really do not want a B&M Dive coaster there as Orion is so close. I'm not sure what could go there as the terrain is very unique and steep in parts. The field actually looks nice (though it is kinda randomly just... there). Maybe an RMC with some elements that reference Vortex (like recreating the famous batwing, perhaps?). A multi-launch could also work. Whatever goes there, it would be cool to preserve some of the field. Speaking of the field, while exiting The Beast, it's really cool to see that opening to the forest to the right of said field.

  14. Whatever they planted doesn’t seem to be a very fast growing vine. This was planted four years ago.

  15. We arrived very early this morning and just left the late night portion. A fantastic day as always, albeit very crowded. No additional information shared about the tragic fatality beyond the park’s statement and local news coverage. It’s always very sobering when a fatality (or even serious injury) occurs at an amusement park, regardless of cause. I just rode Raven in the back seat a few hours ago. EVERY time I ride and get to that 5th drop, I think about the 2003 fatality. It’s sobering and terrifying. Be smart, and be a protector to your loved ones.

  17. This is VERY reminiscent of the tragedy that occurred on Raven at Holiday World just prior to the start of “ Stark Raven Mad” in 2003. Tamar Fellner was a part of that enthusiast event and fell out of the train just prior to the start of the evening ERT. From all indications, the female that passed away was an enthusiast attending their “Hollywood Nights” event (which was essentially the re-named SRM event after the park took a few years off after the Raven tragedy.) Apparently she was found unresponsive just prior to the start of the ERT. My heart goes out to everyone involved. I was the newly appointed ACE Regional Rep when the SRM accident happened. I was at the event when the death occurred. To say it is an awful situation is a complete understatement. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wthr.com/amp/article/news/local/indiana/ohio-woman-unresponsive-holiday-world-roller-coaster-dies/531-c59df18d-1df2-4fe6-be9a-371047a85219

  19. ^ Absolutely! It was nice to see them stay open Wednesday and Thursday when they could have threw in the towel. Let's hope moving forward that continues so that people can plan for that and maybe help spread attendance out. No doubt the Tuesday crowd was a combination of the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, along with CP being closed. Some on Tuesday may have pushed it off until Wednesday or Thursday if they could predict the park would stay open. It appeared the days were also used for training for new staff, which is much nicer for new employees to learn on than a Saturday attendance day!

  23. These are not that brood. You may not be old enough to remember what the 17 year broods are like. They cover everything. Imagine mayflies during peak but they are 2” long and 1/2” wide. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
