  1. I don’t really collect park stuff but this was something I wanted for a long time. It was an online exclusive until today. I’m really happy with it Here is the finished product.

  4. Now I don't know about all of you but I am pretty dang content hearing Rush and The Eagles in Action Zone now lol. Also a strong supporter of I-Street's music too. Never thought I'd hear orchestral Muse, Green Day, David Bowie and some Meme songs all play on International street yet here we are and I'm all for it.

  7. A few days ago, an employee walked up to my mom while she was in Planet Snoopy. The employee did a survey and the questions that she asked kind of heavily hinted some new stuff for Planet Snoopy. Here's the gist of the questions: Are you a season passholder? About how many times do you visit per year? On a scale of 1-5 (1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest) how satisfied are you with the Planet Snoopy area? (Using the same scale as before) How satisfied are you with dining options in Planet Snoopy? How satisfied are you with the rides in Planet Snoopy? How satisfied are you with amenities in Planet Snoopy? How satisfied are you with the games in Planet Snoopy? How satisfied are you with entertainment in Planet Snoopy? How connected are your children to the Peanuts characters? How would you feel about an indoor dining facility with entertainment for kids? There was also a question about "When choosing a place to eat, how important are the following..." but my mom doesn't really remember the options. What kind of food options would you want at an indoor dining facility in Planet Snoopy? If you could add anything to Planet Snoopy, what would you add? How important to you is it that a new attraction be themed to Planet Snoopy? And that is the gist of the questions. I can't wait to see what you guys think of this! Side Note: Should I have put this in "Coming Attractions"?

  11. I'm picking up the hidden meaning. You don't want a gate coaster. You want twin racing gate coasters.

  12. Very interesting stuff. However, I think it is likely just an idea being considered for the future. Maybe up to 5 years out. Ik parks look at different things to add over the next 5 years and it could change with time. I would love a new indoor dining option in Planet Snoopy. They could even do the Lunch with the Peanuts Characters show they used to do in the Festhaus in there. They could even do a dinner time show as well! Wonder what food we could see in there!

  15. It's a thing - some people like to turn old buses (even school buses) into RVs by gutting the interior and building it into an RV. Popular Mechanics even wrote an article about it: https://www.popularmechanics.com/home/a30022899/convert-school-bus-house/

  16. Right. I’m not guaranteeing anything. It just would make an incredible amount of sense of the decision were made right now.

  17. Let's keep it real--no-one* knows what KI is getting next. Any forgone conclusion of future events is just unnecessary here. *(the exception being those internally involved with future projects until announced, of which none would ever come here and post about )

  18. I hope the 95 degree drop is a game changer. Let’s be honest- KI is getting a dive next, so hopefully the over 90 makes it a better and/or more unique experience than what is offered.

  19. As someone in the cast, my days are ~8 hours long. I start by getting costume and makeup on, then I'm in the opening processions and out and about near bandstand until it's time for the parade, then I do that. After the parade I hang around bandstand until fireworks are over. When it isn't Carnivale time, I'm a tech in Entertainment. Most of the cast are in other shows / have other jobs in the park throughout the rest of the season.

  21. Sooooooo they are building a dive coaster called cliff hanger... but not off the ACTUAL CLIFF at the park?!

  22. These smaller models make a ton of sense for the mid range parks. Cedar Fair would be smart to do something like this at Worlds of Fun, CGA, Dorney, or Valleyfair. While I am not a huge dive fan I will say Yukon Striker was much better than Valravn. After being at CP the last few days and seeing the continued popularity of Valravn it would not at all surprise me to us get one even though I think we need a B&M break.

  23. Ahh....announcement season. I'm surprised this isn't using the natural cliffs. It should be very interesting this year. Also, is SIX abandoning the all-park announcements?

  24. I have heard that B&M dive coasters are really affordable. This layout looks designed for a small flat area and could likely be easily cloned. If this does well, which I suspect it will, we could easily see copies of this pop up at a few more Six Flags parks. It’s great seeing Six Flags move into bigger rides again. I am actually looking forward to seeing what else the chain announces.

  25. This is the route Six Flags should go honestly. This ride has an original name, no DC IP, and looks pretty cool. The theme almost reminds me of something you'd see at a Cedar Fair park. Yes its a dive and yes its a mini but its a perfect fit for this park in my eyes. This will be the only dive coaster in Texas which gives SFFT a unique edge. It definitely takes a coaster option away from Sea World San Antonio (not that they ever cared since there's two Batman clones but still.) I do have a few questions: Will this be cloned? Will Six Flags be working with B&M again? The last time they worked with them was 2012. Will we see more original IP coasters in lou of DC characters?

  28. Leviathan, GateKeeper, and Fury 325 work as front gate coasters because they are wedged in and become the 1st thing people see. KI already has a great skyline so having a giga where a bunch of trees used to be would look ugly IMO. Besides, I like how Orion is in the back. If it was in the front foot traffic would be somewhat limited to the front of the park. Orion keeps people going to the back left of the park. You need some balance. Imagine CP without Maverick and Steel Vengeance in the back to balance out the rides in the front.

  29. I hope they never change the essence of the front entrance to the park. Updates, for sure, new restaurant/ticket counters/customer service/entry ques....absolutely. Essence - leave it like it is. What is this Essence that I'm talking about? Its about the slow gradual incline from the parking lot up to the front entry plaza. I could do w/o the security aspect cluttering things up, but its the reality we have to live with, and as such, I actually think they have placed the security clearances fairly well. Anhoo, back to the point.... the slow walk up the inclined entry, sure you see the tower, you see some rides, you hear some going, but you don't really get a feel for the park. You proceed to the ticket counter if needed, or straight for the pass/ticket scanners. Now the ground is relatively flat, its relatively quit and its absolutely shady. You can hear the excitement in the air, but if you've never been you don't get a sense for what is about to hit you. As you proceed into the park, you get the 180 flip from shaded cover to full sun. You get the full view of the tower, the sounds of the fountains, the smell of the baked goods, food and sweets. It all combines in a flash to hit you like a ton of bricks and lets you know that you've arrived somewhere special. Above all else, the essence of the front entry they nailed. I have never been to an amusement park that nails it quite like Kings Island has nailed their front entrance. Disneyworld is pretty solid with the castle in view, but you don't get the rush of fountains that makes KI's better. I haven't been to as many amusement parks as others, but in my mind, they couldn't have done it any better. Sure the building/restaurant could use a face lift/update as mentioned earlier, but the feel, the smells, the sounds as you step into the open area is as good a feeling as you can find.

  30. Here is why. The ride is supposed to generate guest and money for the park. People dont care about an extra 13ft or extra 1000ft of track. This would have cost the park millions of dollars extra with no increased ROI. My biggest complaint with Orion is location. I think the ride would have been better served towards the front of the park and be interactive with the park entrance.

  31. That whole side of the park could flow beautifully with the right theming. River town into camp snoopy into a returned and renovated “KingsMills WaterWorks” water park with tall pines and lusher landscape (and ditch the fake tropical -beach theme)

  32. What I can remember about the other sites. This is the further most site still under construction. It's shown as Wood Sorrel Way on the site map. These are the cabins behind next to one lake, 510 is closest to the road. Not much yard space. Cabins 440, 442, & 444 seem to have good size and almost flat yards if you want to have games. Other parts I wasn't able to take pictures of: Cottages 426-428 have shaded firepits, but not a large yard if thay what your looking for. 433 & 434 have a steep slope starting at their patio/picnic table (if you like to get pretty tipsy maybe avoid or you'll have a fun roll down the hill) The RV sites don't seem to have much lawn but of course are flat. Best chances for space would be on the corner lots.

  39. Here's a few pictures of Hickory, we rigged some sheets to cover windows. Also folded the sofa bed out to give you a better idea how much room there is. Interior cabin width is 11ft (yes I took a tape measure lol) I like that you can use some of the space under the ladder for storage. There is also a small cubby above the fridge, and under the bathroom sink is open as well. The bathroom cabinet is all the linens, no room for storage there. The bedroom has 2 small closets, there were no hangers in ours though. Used a suitcase as a bedside table. Honestly if I had to put up with 8 people in this cabin for multiple days, I'd probably be spending as little time in it as possible because it does seem to be a bit tight. I plan to book an Aspen for Haunt when they release dates. The kitchen layout may make it feel less cramped.

  40. Made a concept of a beach street kind of thing similar to what KD got this year in their waterpark. Here's what the concept includes: the colorful rectangle boxes are the food truck like food stands, the hot pink dots are tables, the big blue circle thing in the center is a splash pad, the black box in the right corner is a stage for live bands/shows, and the brown lines in front of the stage are benches to watch said shows. Note: I just made this concept and I forgot that their are power lines in this area, so this exact location isn't too likely, but they can do it in another location. Here's the pic:

  41. I'm with those that say there shouldn't be anything with lyrics. Instrumentals only. Rivertown should have old-timey music (banjos and such) without the modern country take. Coney Mall should have maybe carnival music and/or Americana (like JP Sousa). Action Zone should just be rethemed to go along with The Bat/Banshee themes. I do actually like the music at the entrance/intl street. I enjoyed hearing Muse and meme songs like Whats Up in orchestral form. Granted, I would prefer original music but that might be asking too much. Also: hello. I'm sort of new (apparently I posted once in 2007?). I'm catching up with KI and the industry after too much time away.
