  1. So I hate to hit you guys with a serious comment but I feel like I have to post this. I have already said that I had covid and that it was pretty miserable, but that was the beginning of the sickness and it’s already gone through my whole family, so here goes. I got it first, I immediately started with a 104 degree fever. Highest fever I’ve had in my life, followed by a sore throat that even made it hard to swallow water. Because of this I didn’t eat much and lost a lot of weight. After I was done with the virus, I stayed home for another week not only because my family still had it, but because the virus basically drained me and I was exhausted. My sisters all got it and they had moderate symptoms and did pretty well. My parents however had the same symptoms as me and are still currently dealing with covid pneumonia. This story leads me to say that if you haven’t had covid yet, I would wear a mask for the sake of the unknown. Me and my parents happened to get severe cases and it still kind of affects us to this day, almost a month through it. If you know of anyone with the sickness, try and help them out as much as possible, just like my family and friends did who I am beyond thankful for. So again, if you haven’t had covid yet, I would advise wear the mask, and if anyone you know has it help them out as much as you can. I know I was very ignorant with it at first and after actually getting covid, I am pleading that you take this advice because it might end up severe like what my family had to deal with. Whew, all done. Thanks for reading this!

  3. The best way I can think to counter that is to say I've been in a crash with a large dump truck and walked away. Yet others leave crash scenes with lasting injuries, or don't survive. The point is that, like a lot of things, geting sick (with COVID-19 or anything) is a spectrum. Most people will get off easy, but some suffer lasting damage and others won't survive. It's not those who get off easy that you take precautions for. It's the rest of the potential outcomes.

  4. @ThrillKingsFitzy I admire your attempt to try and help people…but, speaking from personal experience it seems like a non-believer has to get Covid themselves (or a family member) before they take it seriously. At work I have told my fellow employees just how bad some of my family members are who have had it…they usually counter with they know someone who has had it and it was no big deal. It’s frustrating…but like I said, I admire your attempt and I am sorry you had it go through it.

  6. Yeah I completely understand, if you saw my posts at the beginning of this thread, I was one of those people lol. But yeah if you haven’t had it wearing a mask is probably the smart thing to do. Right before I got covid, my school advised we wear masks just in case because in my county, the number of cases is growing like a wildfire. Literally the day after I got sick. Really wish I would have listened. But yeah, you can’t make everyone do it, but the most you can do is recommend. And @jsus I agree. It’s not like everyone is going to get a severe case, but I got a severe case and I’m only 16 and don’t even have any physical problems. I just happened to get a severe case. People should take precautions because it’s possible that you could end up with something severe. Not too likely, but very possible.

  8. I like to make the argument Cedar Downs is the best ride in the park because you actually have to actively ride it, not just be along for the ride like everything else. I boggles my mind that it is still allowed to operate given everything else has you so strapped in one can barely move. CP has been odd this season with food portions, mostly it has stayed on the traditional leaner side but a few places have been serving absolutely ridiculously large portions like Crystal Rock (Island Smokehouse) and Hugo’s. Still have not been able to ride SNE despite 8 day trips this season and spending 4 nights at Breakers last week it is never up when we pass by. It has taken over the Rivertown freestyle and WindSeeker curse for us.

  10. Taft/KECO, Paramount, and Cedar Fair have all been owners of KI. I'd like to get some of your opinions on some of the best and worst decisions made by each owner. Basically I want a best and worst for Taft/KECO, a best and worst for Paramount, and a best and worst for Cedar Fair.

  11. Taft/KECO Best- Decision to include roller coasters in the park after they were generally regarded as old fashioned post-Disney. The Racer and The Beast specifically. Impeccable landscaping and attention to detail in area theming. Above all Kings Island is a special place. Worst- The Bat Paramount Best- World class kids' areas with relevant IP. Outer Limits: Flight of Fear, Action FX Theatre. Theming was excellent when they wanted it to be. A new attraction was added almost every year. Worst- General decline in park appearance/ cost cutting in landscaping. In hindsight the years from 2000-2005 were the worst 5 year period in park history. 2000- Son of Beast a very ambitious failure 2002- Tomb Raider: The Ride was a failure 2005: Italian Job: Stunt Track replaces the charming Antique Cars and provided cover to relocate the Flying Eagles. The parks were downright dirty in some places towards the end of the Paramount era. I remember the walls of The Racer brake tunnels covered in gum and writing. Cedar Fair Best- Diamondback- The first successful major coaster in 13 years. All major coasters have been well received and are reliable. Rides are rarely closed. Have largely corrected mistakes from CBS era (later years) Paramount. Worst- Diamondback- destroyed Swan Lake. Royal Fountain "revamp", Major de-emphasizing of live entertainment/special events, Fast Lane Plus and meal plans. Kids' area does not receive the attention it did in the Paramount era. Years with no additions are commonplace and non-coaster additions are scarce.

  12. I just wish they would plant trees to replace ones they remove for construction though in areas they can go back into. Think they did a good job with removal for Mystic Timbers, but look at Diamondback. It was completely cleared and it has been left flat and empty since. It opened 12 years ago now. That area could have been pretty well reforested by now aside for space for tracks and and necessary roads for it. Think it would look a lot nicer and be more fun to dip in and out of the trees, plus make it feel faster with you zipping past trees closer by.

  13. RIP Wicked Twister 2002-2021. That video also may have given some hints at what may replace Wicked Twister- here is my thoughts/prediction: I think the Tornado in the film is not a reference to Wicked Twister itself, but a much older Cedar Point coaster- the Cedar Point Cyclone, which was located not far from where Wicked Twister sits now (GateKeeper sits on the site of the old Cyclone but there is no way they are removing GateKeeper anytime soon). With the old sports stadium near Wicked Twister also removed, there may be room to cram a woodie in that spot. Not a gigantic record-breaker, but a small yet quality wooden coaster from GCI or the Gravity Group would fill a huge hole that has existed in Cedar Point's lineup for years and got worse when Mean Streak was transformed into Steel Vengeance. And a wooden coaster is gonna offer higher capacity than the 1-train Wicked Twister did, even if it can only run 2 trains. Wicked Twister may also end up at another park, though we can determine that by if Cedar Point takes it down carefully or just rips it apart. I would bet if it is relocated it is probably going to a smaller Cedar Fair park without an impulse.

  15. Nope. We don’t really trust the vaccine, but not trying to get into anything political. I personally don’t trust it because my friend got the vaccine and he just got sick. Edit: When I said he just got sick, I meant he took the vaccine and it was way more than just regular side effects.
