  1. Lost Backwoods Bayou, Urgent Scare, Rivertown Reaping, Dance of the Macabre, Blackout, and Wolfpack. Traded Field of Screams for Corn-ered Backwoods Bayou and Wolfpack were both bottom of the pack to a lot of people. Urgent Scare and Rivertown Reaping were most likely cut due to the pandemic (Hospital and Plague doctors) Blackout was probably a similar reason due to touching the walls to work your way around the maze. Dance of the Macabre was under the Eiffel Tower which is getting its repaint. All of these moves make since to me, and I can say that we have a rather good and large crew for Slaughterhouse this year. I have always been a quality over quantity guy. Plus with all the food offerings and Tricks or Treats Fallfest, I think we are going to have a great season. I hope to see many of you there. Come visit Slaughterhouse for the freshest cuts of meat in town. We are dying to "meat" you.

  3. Although Rivertown generally allows for more of what people consider theming than Coney Mall, I think it should stay in Coney Mall. Without Vortex, that midway is empty from Shake Rattle and Roll to WindSeeker. If they do put the next attraction in Rivertown I would at least leave a little room for a flat ride or two near where The Vortex entrance was. The current empty space, combined with the skeeball building only used for Haunt, makes that end of Coney Mall too sparse without something there. Also I think it would be cool to see them go all out on Old Coney theming for a new attraction.

  4. I'm not really sure where that "journalist" gets the notion that the information that the park released is "self-serving" when they came out almost immediately after the incident and appeared to take full responsibility by acknowledging that a (relatively) small metal object "became disengaged", resulting in injuries requiring medical care beyond on-site EMS. As for how much info is right to release and when, morally and legally, I dunno. I do know that they were demanding answers before an investigation could provide them. Not really sure what their deal is at the ol' Register.

  5. Whatever goes in this spot, I would like for it to be part of Rivertown. They could theme it together with The Beast like they did with Orion/Flight of Fear.

  6. Good point! An RMC raptor at Kings Island would be pretty low capacity. If we’re lucky it would be around Backlot Stunt Coaster’s capacity with its 12 person trains. I also doubt Kings Island would be able to operate a raptor like Six Flags does because of IROC. Anyways, when you consider a B&M 32 passenger train, each train that is dispatched holds 4x the amount of riders that the 8 seat raptor trains hold and almost 3x the riders that the 12 seat raptors hold. Even a 24 passenger train like on Mystic Timbers holds way more. A raptor just doesn’t seem plausible in my opinion. Kings Island really needs something with a higher capacity.

  7. ^and even with the GP "backlash", I expect that the place will still be slammed like it normally is for Haunt...

  8. The map has hit social media and the GP has noticed the cutbacks in quantity without a cutback in cost. The danger in winning that silly “best of the best” USA today thing is that just maybe people who see that, expect the best of the best when they come.

  11. Taft: Best is Opening the park. Worst is backing down from resort destination to regional park. KECO: Best-growing the park and the company. Worst: Selling to Parmount. Paramount: This is difficult because it was Paramount/VIacom/CBS. Started good but went bad. Best was early days-bringing in movie IP while respecting KI tradition. Worst: The Junkyard coaster placement or the SOB fiasco. Cedar Fair: Best-thier coaster selection and a focus on nostalgia. Worst: Taking KI from a movie park to a generic park in the early years. I understand IP issues, but as they took out Paramount, the history of KI was ripped out too. Glad the current owners are restoring.
