  1. He will (thank goodness!) continue his responsibilities at KI but will take on a bigger chain-wide role with festivals. Congrats, Chef! Well deserved! https://www.linkedin.com/posts/james-d-major-prochef-ii-265ba39_fun-activity-6853465147348959232-7QJO

  3. A welcome promotion for Chef Major. Hopefully, the tater tots at Miami River Brewhouse were also promoted to French Fries.

  4. It looked entirely intact last Thursday. Train parked in the station like they just went home for the night; only real sign of the ride's impending doom was the pair of construction offices built out of shipping containers adjacent to the ride where the facility last known as Extreme Sports Stadium once stood.

  5. Personally, I'd like to see another park receive this coaster. I enjoyed it a lot. Will be interesting to see what future expansion will be in its place.

  6. I hadn't been to Haunt in probably 10 years, so my standards are going to be different. I went on the first two Fridays of Haunt this season. First one was a great time but we didn't do any mazes. Just lots of night rides. The second Friday, we did all of the mazes early, per advice on this forum. I was quite happy with the lighting and scenery in the park. I saw someone say there weren't enough scare actors but there were almost too many on my trips. The mazes were okay. Was never really my thing but they did the job. The one outdoor maze, Cornered, was probably the the only real disappointing one for me. It's just wide open and somewhat empty. Crowds definitely picked up the second Friday. I somehow got stuck in a one hour line for Orion. The longest wait I've had for any ride this year, tying Maverick. This isn't technically "Haunt" but I also went this past Sunday. The warm weather (high of 84) definitely brought out bigger crowds than I expect for a Sunday in October. Hoping next Sunday is much better in that sense.

  7. https://www.kingsislandgear.com/collections/new-apparel/products/racer-tee Here is the link to the shirts and in the Facebook post KI mentions "Whoops! Our printer got this one "Backwards!" This version of the soft style Gildan tee will be available for a limited time only. Free Shipping offer applies to this item only. " This seems like oddly specific use of word backwards and the fact its being sold as official merch makes me believe this is a subtle tease for a backwards racer side once again. I mean the GP absolutely loved when it went backwards and i still hear people talking about how much they miss it. Including enthusiasts. So what do you guys think about it?

  8. The only reason I am bringing this up is because KI has been making a lot of small changes to the park and the parks 50th is coming up. I didn’t just jump to conclusions just because of old ride merch being sold . I’m still convinced that nothing is going to happen as far as racer is concerned but KI has a history of making teasers. The probability is never Zero Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. My daughter and I went last Saturday and enjoyed the torrentuous downpour like everyone else … oof. This Friday was Haunt alive again - many scare actors and awesome weather to enjoy night rides on Mystic Timbers, Diamondback, Orion, and Adventure Express. Yes, Adventure Express with its recent repairs is again an enjoyable night ride.

  12. It is cheaper to just let it continue to sink. Come 3978 expect a movie scene similar to this.

  13. On Saturday we (Outdoor scare actors and sliders) got put inside mazes shortly after opening due to the rain we got.

  14. No way it goes backwards again. I guess since all the old rides are "official merch" too they are coming back? Not trying to be rude, trust me i would love it to come back. But i dont think it will sadly.

  15. If you asked 10 different people why it was changed on 10 different occasions then you’ll get different answers each time. I feel like the reasoning given in the book is just another narrative.

  16. I agree completely! (I wish they would add more lanes though…the lines can get pretty long.)

  17. We know there are lots of feelings on COVID and protocols. Let's please keep that discussion on the COVID thread linked below and get back on topic of Winterfest 2021. Thanks! https://kicentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/36114-coronavirus-impacting-theme-parks/ I am excited for Snow Works. A simple attraction, but is a lot of fun.

  18. In terms of the buffets, COVID-19 does not seem to spread surface to surface as much as it spreads through air particles. However, there is a risk with indoor dining in general and indoor theaters. With that being said, there are many restaurants and theaters open where COVID-19 is a similar threat. Kings Island is not the only business with these risks. In addition, waiting in the indoor queue for Flight of Fear or eating in the Festhaus are similar risks, and Kings Island has allowed them all season whether it is the right decision or not.

  19. Outrageous. Next they will come for our cargo shorts and soon after pockets altogether. Eventually even us men will have no option but to wear yoga pants and it will be the scariest most terrifying Haunt ever!

  20. This was a marketing mistake. They used a shot from Cedar Fair's secret park, a sister park in North's Korea called Kims Island.
