  1. I’m excited! DW has become my home away from (KI) home! https://www.wvlt.tv/2021/11/04/site-plans-approved-new-attraction-dollywood/

  2. How about the return of no seat belt, no middle divider, and buzz bars LOL.

  3. I'd have to go out on a limb and say its a requirement of the local government, and I say this only because CF Corporate knows that if they tried it down here in this country with the people that populate it, it wouldnt end well for the overworked and undercompensated admissions employees. Seriously, can you imagine what would happen if an 18-20 year old kid tried to "deny a person's personal liberties" by telling them they couldnt enter the park without a vax card? And you know CF wont budget a team of actual Certified uniformed Police Officers at the gate to every park in the US to check IDs and cards.

  4. Agree. It’s just not that good. New font, old font, whatever. It’s bad design. They got paid to do a job. It’s not like it was a community service project that they donated their time for (hopefully) so no, I don’t feel the need to cut slack. It’s bad design. The designers might have had their hands tied by higher ups, so then it’s their fault as well, but at some level, someone decided this was “good enough” and that’s what it looks like. And no, I’ve not been paid by the park to design a logo, so I’m not going to waste time coming up with “what I would’ve done”.

  6. Based on the initial version at carrowinds, it’s a mix of the streetmosphere characters and some of the performers in their show costumes, and others in different costumes that relate to the float unit (very similar to Carnivale)

  7. Very exciting. Dollywood is a fantastic park. It is the only park besides Kings Island where I have had a season pass. I will be going down there in about a month and taking my kids, parents, and in laws. We can`t wait. It looks like that site plan is for the Wildwood Grove area of the park. Exciting to see the expansion. Dollywood has really expanded a lot these last several years. I remember my first visit before Wild Eagle, FireChaser Express, and Lightning Rod were at the park.

  8. Wicked Twister closed at the same time it has for years, the end of the regular season. It has not operated during Haunt in a long time. Closing when it did is normal for that ride.

  9. I would love to see the exit/Fast Lane entrance rerouted back to where it was and would also allow for an expanded Beast plaza. Maybe even move the entrance back to where it was before and reopen the old mining shop as well (red building to the right of the entrance). Didn't they also use to have a pretzel stand where the current entrance is? If so, I'd love to see them bring that back. I know this isn't too likely, but I'd love to see them get the old water mill to work again and just have a small lake under the water mill.

  10. I'd like to see some of the original signage back--the backstory one that says something like "let the foolhardy beware!" I'd like the exit/Fast Lane rerouted to near what it was originally. Track work and make the seats more comfortable.

  11. Ha it would never work here because Americans in the last 60-80 years have not been asked to sacrifice for the greater good. Plus the greed and me me me culture that grew during the 80s….. you’d have people cry about freedom of something while waiting on Covid results. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. @Browntggrr, back when I took a trip to Cedar Point around 2000, the guy I went with said he like Mantis, but his legs were really sore after riding.

  13. And not 100% of the land they own can be developed. Some of it is too steep, riparian zones, setbacks, cost prohibitive at the moment to gain access to some of these spots, etc. When was the last attraction added that needed significant additional infrastructure added to get guests to the area? The station for Orion and orientation was placed where it was as the pathways and infrastructure was already in place and was extended/added on to. Same with Banshee, Mystic Timbers, etc. Almost any new ride placed in the undeveloped areas would in all likelihood need new access created that would traverse under an existing ride, such as the access paths created for Flight of Fear and Action Theater. I am sure we could probably find a place to squeeze one in without that needed, but more than likely that would need to occur. Doesn't mean they will not expand into some of the wooded areas at some point, but building where infrastructure already exists is going to be more economical. As rides/attractions reach their end of service life or the ROI is of diminishing returns, additions will occur in those areas first. I think an improvement outside of the "developed area" of the park would coincide with a new themed area with multiple attractions added to it. Or they go with the X-Base concept LOL and it takes how many years to get it to where it is today with a restroom and food place!

  15. Wow some of you are so hateful to those who spent all that time designing this. While I do agree the logo could've been a little better, I think they did an excellent job with it. They worked really hard on this logo and I think we should settle down and appreciate it. This is giving me flashbacks to the Orion announcement and to when the blueprints got leaked.
