  1. I know it's likely inevitable that another coaster will go in the former Vortex spot, but I'd love to see KI think outside the box and really make that area into a special investment. I'm not saying a big roller coaster wouldn't look good there (Vortex was one of the most photogenic coasters in the park) or wouldn't be fun. But I kind of like having that stretch of land reserved for something unique and exciting. Ideally, I'd love to see if they could create some sort of themed mini-area there, but I'm sure space and infrastructure would be an issue (I would love it if CF found some less-expensive bit of IP to make a themed area to, but that's probably a loooong way off). What I'd love is a giant themed water ride. Maybe a larger resurrection of the Keelboats, with trees, indoor features, a great view and a good drop. Make use of The Crypt building if you can. Roller coasters are great, but the older I get, the more I appreciate a really imaginative approach to these areas.

  2. I like @medford's idea of an international-themed restaurant. That way, you could keep Panda Express (which some people do like...my wife is one of them) and even, I guess, the pizza (although I've found that the pizza at Festhaus tends to be the worst in the entire park; not sure why). Add a taco bar, some German food...change the burrito shack to a place that serves grilled brats and sauerkraut. Festhaus used to feel special. That was where they had the most elaborate shows (the ice show was in there for a bit) and it was a really cool deal to head in, get a meal and take a break for a bit. Now it feels like an afterthought; the food is usually subpar, the shows have to compete with the arcade (do they even dim the lights for the shows anymore?). I'd love to see them really focus on Festhaus. Put a standout show in there, get rid of the arcade games and TV screens (make it a live entertainment destination). Get good, unique food in there. And move in a good bar with a dozen taps and other options. It's so tossed off right now, but it could be as big a destination as anyplace in the park, especially for families with young kids or older visitors who aren't riders.

  3. I think a white coaster with a lighting package would look great near the front. We have enough blue for now haha

  4. I don't really get this attitude. No offense to you of course, but we haven't been spoiled. They saw an investment opportunity in the park and decided to pursue it. Hell, getting a coaster every single year isn't being spoiled if the feel the investment is worth it. They wouldn't have added those coasters if they didn't think they would make money off of them. If they added coasters thinking they wouldn't make money off of them, then you could argue that is being spoiled. The past additions should not dictate future additions. Only what it is that you currently have and the possibility of making more $$$.

  5. As much as I enjoy the rides themselves, Congo Falls and Invertigo are towards the bottom of my list of stuff to do in the park and often don't ride them. Usually don't want to get soaked when I'm over there to ride Congo Falls, and Invertigo usually has long, slow moving lines with it's one train operation that I feel it isn't worth it. If they removed them along with Timberwolf, and relocated Xtreme Skyflyer to X-Base they would have a huge area to do something with. And honestly, even if they left Invertigo, it is on the edge already and takes up a small footprint so could stay. With Banshee, Bat, and the colors for Inveritgo and Delerium, I would love to see a dark forest theme for the area, along with trees planted to convey that (along with Planet Snoopy to Camp Snoopy all the trees throughout the park would be amazing and help with heat by providing more shade. Would love to see 2 or 3 new flats and a hybrid/RMC style coaster added to round out the area.

  6. I believe that they have removed all of the arcade games that used to reside in Festhause. They were dimming the lights for Tinker`s Toy Factory this past Winterfest. Hopefully, we see the return of a live show in the Festhaus during the summer months this season. Same goes for International Showplace.

  7. Very nice podcast! Very informative. Sorry I couldn`t be on this episode, as I was having a conference call with a client at work at the time this was recorded.

  8. Diamondback is superior to Magnum and Banshee crushes Raptor in stats. So the claim KI won't get anything superior to CP is false. I believe it's been discussed in another thread that the reason Orion wasn't bigger was the park's decision since they wanted it to appeal to a larger demographic.

  9. I always imagined having some sort of steel coaster interacting with Beast back in the woods of the park, could make The Vortex plot of land not really just a coaster, but an extension of the park down to that level (or raise it up). Having another coaster that is alongside the front of the trees that goes into the woods. Would be so much fun to see that interaction on a whole new level. Introduces some new land to the park, new restaurants or flat rides would be awesome down there too. Will draw up an example later today.

  10. Rivertown is not really tumbleweed western. It really should be more “Midwest frontier” it’s supposed to be the early EARLY days of Cincinnati area. They’ve prettty much abandoned that sadly to the point that it’s “vaguely western”. I long thought white water can you should be more themed to the Miami River. Even a recreated Peters Cartridge Factory that causes the explosions on the River. The shot tower would be perfect for the lookouts and a factory setting would make the wave maker and other equipment not seem so random as it could all be themed to the factory. I’d hate for all of rivertown to be “abandoned industry” but it honestly makes the most sense if they aren’t going to do “period”. Urban exploration and extreme nature sports (rock climbing, par core, off roading) are a big deal, so I wish they would lean into that.

  11. I made a blitz concept this time it is in Action Zone and replaces Invertigo and Congo and goes across the entrance pathway similar to Fury. The elements that cross over the pathway are a zero g stall and an outerbank/stengal dive similar to the last element on Pantheon just bigger. The name is Guardian.

  12. SS needs more than plain white floods for the structure. The ones in Florida have carnival-like LED setups and look great. (It still should be in AZ)

  13. I hope the ride structure gets painted as well. Here is a pic from last year or the year before. I love seeing all the painting going on.
