  1. I don’t enjoy it. It looks trashy, and who get a thrill tossing trash? Weird folks!

  2. I worked in Rides from Haunt 2017 through summer 2018. I was hired during a job fair. That was one of the best jobs I've ever had. To date, it's the job where I have been most consistently surrounded by passionate, enthusiastic people who want to do good work. Everyone on my team was there to be safe and have fun. I miss working there often. If you're thinking of applying, do it.

  3. Im in the minority, but I get a chuckle at what is tossed aside. I hate litter, I dont know why i think this is cool. But then again, I miss he gum tree in the old The Beast plaza.

  5. Even though I have never personally thrown anything on any of the sheds myself, I also find it fun to look at…I feel like it is a little harmless self expression.

  6. If the park puts half the effort you have into all these concepts and squiggles, then we are in for a real treat LOL. I hope you are validated one of these days soon with an announcement, then you can say “see, I told you so in concept #37! Keep up the good work. I hope your check is in the mail.

  7. It’s the modern day version of a gum wall/gum tree. Thank goodness that fad is over. Ive never understood why, in the off season, no one climbs up there with a broom.

  8. I think that a "small wall" would be much more intrusive and unsightly (let alone a expense which quite simply is unnecessary) than just letting people do what they've always done. Personally, I enjoy having a laugh seeing the weird and creative things people have thrown on top of the roofs next to The Beast and Diamondback. And of course the people that throw stuff on those roofs must enjoy doing it too.

  10. With all this work will they finally clean the final brake run roof of all the garbage and put up a small wall to stop that nonsense?

  11. @silver2005 As someone who nerds out on architecture and reads LeCorbusier translations for enjoyment, I absolute am ON BOARD FOR ARCHES!!! maybe some green details to make the reference cohesive could be applied. As for the roof… A glass tiled solar roof would be STUNNING, show guests that the park is modernizing, and be eligible for HUGE tax credits for at least a few more years.

  12. @IndyGuy4KI I absolutely love this! Could there be potential for other new forums as well? I have some odd industry related topics that I’d like to initiate that aren’t related to announcements and news. I’ve noticed that a lot of active users here are not only KI enthusiasts, but full-on amusement park enthusiasts. A more general parks discussion forum might be interesting and drive engagement. A space for discussions about how rides operate and technical details would be awesome! At least for me anyway lol. This is the only place I’m ever really active on social media and that is because everyone here has been extremely friendly and engaging. BIG THANKS to everyone here for that!

  13. I hope they post an itinerary before ticket sales. I haven't been in a while due to the fact that I've already done everything a few times at least in terms of the usual tours. If KI offers some new and interesting to the tour/line up I will probably go. To elaborate, a tour of the waterpark pump houses, a few more coasters on the night ride line up so that the park is kind of spaced out; it's the simple things that matter. Heck, even to have an auction of KI ride parts would be interesting because it has become a huge hit at HWN.

  14. Certainly not every year kind of spoiled, that I understand. I'm talking CF spoil. They seem to only do one major investment a year across all their parks. That and my post was mainly a theory, just a fun way of trying to predict what might come next. Certainly looking forward to whatever CF brings to the table next, especially with this SEAS bid on the table now.

  15. I don't really get this attitude. No offense to you of course, but we haven't been spoiled. They saw an investment opportunity in the park and decided to pursue it. Hell, getting a coaster every single year isn't being spoiled if the feel the investment is worth it. They wouldn't have added those coasters if they didn't think they would make money off of them. If they added coasters thinking they wouldn't make money off of them, then you could argue that is being spoiled. The past additions should not dictate future additions. Only what it is that you currently have and the possibility of making more $$$.

  16. ^^if that is the case, what I'd love to see for Soak City is similar to what KD did. I really like KD's beach street thing where they had food trucks, nice seating with patio style lighting overhead and a live music stage. They have something similar at Camp Cedar and I would love something like that to make its way over to our Soak City. In terms of Snoopy, I think Whirlybirds should honestly go and they should add one of those playgrounds that Carowinds Camp Snoopy has. Also, I remember hearing about a survey awhile back about an indoor dining facility in PS that features kids entertainment. If that is true, I could definitely see that being the next thing added to Snoopy. In terms of rides added to snoopy, I think one of those balloon rides would be a good fit for the area.

  20. This is just a possibility: Many large corporations like to use an internal tag line that focuses on a specific direction they want to go over a certain period of time. The absence of a specific park & only the CF logo on the mug was something I quickly noticed. "Project Soul" could easily be that line given for a direction CF wants to go in given what we have all experienced over the past two years. If this is the case, it's a nice move on CF's part- I would certainly embrace going to a park and having such a fun & enjoyable time it allows a few hours of forgetting what is happening outside the park. There are many possibilities.

  21. Can we finally get the Clown Band back? Kings Dominion has had their clown band back for years now.

  22. In conjunction with Snake River Expedition at Cedar Point last year I remember a remember a Cedar Fair executive talking about how they wanted unique rides and experiences at other parks in the chain. Basically they talked about how the ride was obviously custom for Cedar Point and they wanted other parks to get their own unique experiences which would also play into the history of the individual park. That the mug has the Cedar Fair logo and not the parks logo screams chain wide initiative and not something occurring at just Kings Island. My guess is making each park its own unique experience, and trying to not just duplicate each other. In short making each park have its own soul. I am just guessing here based on what I have heard in the last year. If I am correct I could definitely see Kings Island getting a new ride out of this. I have my doubts about it happening this year. But I also remember Jason McClure being asked about a ride for the 150th back in 2019 and his response was basically of course the park is getting a ride. It was supposed to be Snake River Expedition. Kings Island getting something smaller, and possibly unique tied into the history of the park somehow, feels appropriate and could be done quickly without months of clearing and work, so 2022 could be possible still depending on what the park would be receiving. I could also be trying to tie completely separate items together and making assumptions based on frankly almost nothing. This could be tied to one of the other projects, adding more seasonal events, or new and upgraded dining. I might be forgetting something as well. I just doubt this is targeted specifically at Kings Island.

  24. I know nothing, but: "Project Soul" sounds a lot to me like the name of a project whose goal is to restore character to an amusement park whose previous owners lost sight of the original vision. It'd sure align well with a 50th anniversary celebration and a bunch of rides getting repainted.

  25. So i don’t know all of the info about this, but i saw my friends mug today at my high school and questioned it because of the logo on it. She said her dad is a maintenance person at Kings Island and how it’s a new ride and project. I have no clue if she is correct or not, but she did mention how 2 years ago when i would talk about Project X , she would laugh to herself because her father new all of the details and information about the ride already. Once again i don’t know if all of this is true or not but the logo on the cup has the words “project soul” and the Cedar Fair logo behind it. I don’t think anyone has seen any signs of construction, or if they are just now getting into the design and everything, but there are many possibilities.

  28. What about an indoor dining area in Planet Snoopy? With entertainment for the kids? They could get rid of the petting zoo area and put the dining area there.

  31. It’s not. It’s literally barn plans I found online. A finished building in this style would be Duluth Trading in West Chester. So I guess we are getting the best emporium ever…
