  1. It would be great if they also brought back the streamers on the ceiling again.

  2. From Chef Major: Last year we added our pastry chef, Belen Caire. She and her team have outgrown where they’re working so what better way than to take the Sweet Spot, move her operation there, and let our guests come in and watch the making of all of our desserts and the production. We’re going to be changing some of the things that go into the case. All of our desserts are going to be made from scratch. If you walk into the Sweet Spot at any given time, you’re going to see how the desserts are made, the person that’s actually making these wonderful desserts. 3. I know we take a critical look at things often as enthusiasts for the park. I must say, however... I love Kings Island and the atmosphere they've worked to create. So many great things happening. I still hope for a big new coaster to fill The Vortex plot in the coming years, but pretty much every time there is a new announcement like this it makes me even more excited to get back.

  4. Aside from a few items in the case, everything was already made from scratch at Sweet Spot. Guests come in for one of three things, buckeyes, caramel apples, and fudge. Anything else is just extra.

  6. The streamers would be amazing to bring back Would do a lot to revitalize the place adding more theming and color/deco to the place. Really help it feel more of a German Festhaus too.

  7. I noticed these paintings of German buildings and scenery on the wall next to Panda Express last season. Were these there in previous seasons?

  8. So uh, my pipe dreams are coming true. One of my favorite things is when parks have unique food offerings. I love the idea of Sweet Spot but haven't been over the moon with it because of how much of it is not made in-house. Yes please! This year is going to be AMAZING.

  10. I wouldn't be surprised if I see something like this...... Despite the fact that, I've already ordered my new 2022 special 50th Anniversary park map (two of them) for Kings Island through Guest Services so they're waiting on them right now but they will update with me when I hear from them in my future email so I know what's going on with it....

  11. During KK Winter Walk through last Saturday, it was mentioned that Herschend is now sole owner of KK as of January 1st 2022 (guess Ed Hart finally gave in and sold his last 20% stake in the park). The Keys to the Kingdom coaster event will be later than normal this year on Saturday July 16.

  12. The “new” boat ride at Cedar Point was super popular last year. KI needs more rides like that. However the terrain at The Vortex site is best suited for a coaster. It would be a waste of terrain for something that could be built on flat land. And I’m a proponent of total-family rides (dark rides, cable skyway, monorail etc) over coasters

  13. And somewhat harder to sustain. Most non-coaster “hype” campaigns are like Tomb Raider in that it’s the story, the experience, or the unknown you “have to ride it to find out” and once they have, the public interest can wane.
