  2. @Shawn Meyer From what I heard, a women came back into the station unconscious. they took a precaution to inspect the ride and close it early, we can expect it to re-open tomorrow given no issues are found (was likely a pre-existing condition, so I presume it wasn’t really the rides direct fault) I may be wrong, but whatever it is hope the women is doing alright.

  3. To whoever the gentleman in the glasses with the Cedar Point straps is that was waiting in line for The Beast, you're my hero. Early in the day I had kids sprinting past me in line and I was angry at myself for not reacting quick enough to call out the line jumpers. You, however, were ready. 4 men tried to cut all the way to the front of The Beast and you confronted them. They told you to F off and you guaranteed them you would make sure they did not get on the ride. Sure enough, as they were boarding the ride security came and pulled them out. You did us park goers proud and so did security. I stopped into guest services to let them know how swift and professional security was.

  5. A few thoughts after a long, great day at KI. People do seem to be treating The Beast as the star attraction again. Area 72 has seemed less busy than last year, possibly as a result and because Orion is now in its 3rd season. Orion ride ops haven't been as strict about restraints at least for me. I've been able to get a lot of airtime on it unlike last year. Seems like they are better at keeping the Freestyle machines stocked. Last year, even on light days, the machines would be out of non-diet flavor when I went in the evening. I was stapled hard on an early ride on MT but overheard a little kid behind me say "Please don't staple me!" so I chuckled The new Racer queue config feels so weird Action Zone really needs a drink stand Staff has been outstanding so far this season Even the very back seat of The Beast is decently smooth, but those trims hit so hard. A ride op told me that they got to ride it before opening without all the trims in place.

  6. The park has really upped their game on line-jumpers, while confrontation can lead to unneeded violence it can help detour some people from considering even line-jumping. Kids especially seem to think nobody will care if they cut, but it adds up.

  7. I'm guessing you've never seen the Cincinnati Kids episode of the Brady Bunch?

  8. I had no idea about the stretcher. But the ride was down the rest of the day. I hope it was nothing too serious and the stretcher was more precautionary.

  9. Picked up the brownie and the chocolate chip cookie yesterday. Brown was good, not mind-blowing. The chocolate chip cookie was, however, mind-blowing! It had so many chocolate chips that it was gooey in the middle for just that reason alone. I would HIGHLY recommend it!

  10. Can’t wait. This is definitely the attraction that I am most excited to see this year!

  11. Picked up a half dozen Sweet Spots on our way out of the park before the rain yesterday. Very worth the 3.99!!

  13. Oh, I don’t even think they would’ve touched it. It probably would’ve deteriorated to the point where they would’ve closed the ride without a replacement. One of the reasons I think Boo Blasters looks as “good” as it does, is because CF had an easily re-skinnable attraction in SDATHC. That was Cedar Fair then, though. Now, I truly believe that Cedar Fair (and general park management) is capable of maintaining an attraction of that caliber. Whether they would choose to do so is a different story. But recent additions show that they aren’t afraid of detail or theming. But I do fear something to the tune of what’s at Knott’s now with their rebooted Beary Tales attraction. There’s a place for screens in dark rides, but not to that extent.

  14. That ride was top quality and very high capacity. Unbelievable they trashed it for what’s there now.

  15. Still would have been a fun and unique campaign to tease or announce a new ride.

  16. Just caught this and dont know if anybody noticed it, but at the end Barry says "Give me a moment I have to go find those blueprints". Could this be the start of something big, or just Kings Island messing with us? And if it is something, someone should go check mason city hall and see if there are any public documents/blueprints available

  17. (In reference to the Slingshot-less skyline picture by Buckeye Coasters): I think the new skyline looks refreshing. It reminds me of the olden days when I would go to KI as a kid, except instead of Banshee and Diamondback, there was King Cobra and Son of Beast.

  21. I’d love for KI to make the half speed permanent. You can’t really focus on anything at the regular speed so that’s why I’ve moved on from riding.

  22. I was in absolute awe. I have been riding this ride for 34 years, but the last few years I've gotten off sore and beaten. I did not expect the absolutely smooth ride yesterday, and I swear my mouth was gaping the whole ride (I'm glad I didn't swallow a bug!) I've stayed in the front few cars for the past few years, but I'm going to try the back again. I'm thrilled! (Which I guess is the purpose of the ride, right?)

  23. I definitely noticed an improved ride. The retracked bits felt more natural in movement, particularly the first drop and helix. The pop before the 2nd tunnel is more of a curve shaping that Gravity Group and GCI use on transitions. Not a deliberate bunny hill, but does have a small pop of air. Should be real good when it breaks in.
