  1. I thought this might be a fun topic to start. Especially for those who frequent the park a lot. For those animal and nature lovers, I thought it might be fun to keep track of the baby geese and their growth through the season. My girlfriend and I had our evening made this past Sunday when we saw these little cuties. The mom even brought them up close for us to see. I love how the park leaves them be. They seem quite happy by the fountain and people seem to enjoy watching them. Feel free to share your KI goose updates here if you wish!

  2. Sorry I didn’t know about the give away so I can’t answer that, but I assume it already did before the 28th. That is my best guess.

  3. Does anyone (on here ) know if the Gold Pass 50th Anniversary VIP Tour giveaway winner has been announced? I asked a few times yesterday and no one seemed to know. Just to catch everyone up to speed, every passholder visit to the park (as in, every scan of the pass- once per day) through mid 15th got you a chance to win thru PassPerks. For example, since I made 4 visits before May 15th, I would be entered 4 times into the drawing.I am wondering as I have not heard anything about this since I got the e-mails about it. TIA.

  4. I am familiar with how the frisbee rides get stuck upside down I would assume this would be similar. The motor turns off as the arm approaches the top and the control system waits until the arm reaches a set point before reengaging the motor, so it is just coasting over the top. It would be very easy to produce too strong of forces if the motor was engaged at all times. In a case like this a gust of wind or something else at just the right or for the riders wrong moment provides enough resistance the ride vehicle balances upside down. The ride system does not see the motion it is expecting so it faults and turns off power to the motor. On frisbee rides like the ones from SBF Visa when wind does eventually push the ride vehicle over since the ride faulted the motor will not engage to slow the arm, and it just swings back and forth for a long time before it stops allowing the ride op to release the passengers.

  5. Good question-they didn’t do the maze out behind WindSeeker last year, so they could reopen that to keep the balance. They didn’t do the hay maze last year because of corn stalkers being there.

  6. ***I love, love, love this! **** The tribute to Nick Universe and the "short-lived return of Winterfest" makes me super-nostalgic! I remember that! Can this stay up? =)

  7. It used to be my second favorite night ride until Mystic Timbers opened (and before Banshee made them clear the trees around the ruins helix)

  8. Alice: "stop the park, I wanna get off" lol EDIT: Drayton Manor in the UK is opening a nebulaz themed to vikings. Looking at this ride and how the color scheme is, I think a similar color scheme themed around beer brewing would be great in Slingshot's plot of land! 9. I believe there was the Wheel of Fortune (Trabant) where Linus Launchers currently is when that was still part of Rivertown. It predates me, but you can see it in footage like the Brady Bunch episode

  10. Just about any flat ride could fit if they re-route the Delirium line to run the other direction. I would like to see a three ride package for Oktoberfest or three flats outside of Coney Mall. Come to think of it has Rivertown ever had a flat ride other than Tomb Raider/The Crypt?

  11. I was there from 1-8:30ish and it was somewhat crowded, but lines weren't terrible. According to a wait time site I check and the official KI app, it appears the popular rides (with higher wait times) were Flight of Fear and Beast. I was able to get 16 rides in today (17 if you count Orion twice), plus a show.

  12. Does anyone know if Sling Shot was listed in the list of rides they were painting for the 50th this year?

  13. If they were going to sell it, I would imagine they would have removed the rest of it during the off season.

  15. Do the stones go by every year? Or when something significant happens at the park. I could see something like a flat ride next year.

  22. I love this topic. I even started a Wildlife gallery on the main site a few years ago. If you would like to include any pics taken for the gallery, please add Gallery in your post and I will add it there. Gallery link: https://kicentral.com/photos/kings-island-wildlife
