  1. Sorry, no ride- it's the "Grand Pavilion", which the building department lists as a 2-story building.

  2. Kings Island is not the only park getting paint on rides.

  3. Wasn't CPs VIP given away to random people, or did they have a purchase option also? It is interesting, set up an igloo for a what at most 5-6 hour Winterfest night and charge a lot of money and they sell out in advance for almost every night. Set up a VIP area for a lot less money for a 10 hour operating day and barely anyone uses it. I say give it time. We are still early in the season and I suspect we will see more use late June and thru July as more non-passholders come to the park.

  4. Yeah, I'm not going to pay a bunch of money to go an amusement park and deal with travelling there only to pay even more money for the right to sit on some comfy seats instead of heading to the next attraction. Doesn't even have AC or a good view. I suppose there are those people who need a rest now and then at the park but the difference between the lounge and any random bench would be hard to justify for anyone who isn't rich.

  5. I walked past the VIP area at CP many times last year. I don't recall seeing many people enjoying it. For me, amusement parks are about exhilaration. If you want to feel important, buy yourself FL+ and enjoy.

  6. The footage used in the KI YouTube video was filmed just prior to its closure. There are certain unfortunate indicators in the footage that it was near the end of its life - most notably the condition of the attraction's animatronics. The park edited the footage from the ride too, for instance, the levitating dress does not appear because in its final 2 seasons someone had ruined it with fake blood. Adding the blood was a poor choice made by someone that wasn't smart enough to realize the ride was designed to be tongue-in-cheek, not macabre. Prior to the closure, DAFE, as well as ACE was invited for tours. Most of the figures had been removed by the time of the ACE tour. There were also several "personal" tours given, both before it was deconstructed as well as after the transformation to Scooby had begun. Final rides on Phantom theatre were done by the general public. I was in the 3rd to the last car. The final 2 were filled with employees that worked on the ride. Here's some fun, abeit dark & overexposed pics of myself and friends playing around with some of the props during an individual tour we took before PT was removed and during another tour as it was being converted to SDATHC...

  7. The park has already said that they will be using that area to add something "for everyone to enjoy..." They also are quoted as saying most of their guests dont like to "get thrown around on a rollercoaster." https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/news/2022/05/28/construction-begins-transformation-cedar-points-beachfront-area-wicked-twister-sandusky-GateKeeper/9929021002/ I think they re-iterated it at the debacle that was Coastermania. Doesn't sound like a ginormous coaster to me... Shaggy

  8. Honestly I am relieved, I know that may sound weird but think Cedar Point has already so many great coasters don’t get me wrong I would love another coaster but they really need some nice areas to hang out walk around, maybe some nice restaurants over looking the water that would be great.

  9. Yep, here is a rare picture of Snoopy not being climbed on despite 4 labels not to climb... Basically if it can be climbed on, kids will do it and the parents don't say a thing. Usually you see a parent here telling the kid to climb hire on Snoopy for the picture

  10. I don’t blame the kids-I blame the entitlement of parents who feel “I paid good money to get in here and my baby can do anything he wants”. I HATE to deal with parents like that.

  11. They have also added those signs to the Phantom Theater cars in front of the KI Theater. Although I saw kids yesterday climbing it.

  12. The top brings joy, the bottom brings pain. I strolled around the gardens on Monday, I was very impressed with the detail and the dedication they put into the whole history walk.

  13. Glad they finally decided to put that area to good use again. I wonder what they'll do with it during Haunt since they usually have CornStalkers back there (and a family-friendly area during the day).

  14. I have a few pics of the stones: I do like how some of the stones foreshadow the next year’s addition

  15. No they do not. Beast and Orion will start up after given the all clear. Blue Racer remains closed. And this year because of the drones, WindSeeker and Shake, Rattle, Roll shut down as well before 10pm.

  16. Looks wonderful, but bizarre that the park never even publicized they were doing anything with Tower Gardens! What an easy positive PR story.
